Abstract

This study aims to describe the condition of adult homeless individuals aged 30–40 years, analyze the application of humanistic counseling, and explain its impact on self-awareness as a foundation for work empowerment at the Surakarta City Social Service Shelter House. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of five homeless individuals aged 30–40 years, with supporting informants including Social Service officers, social companions, and the shelter coordinator. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model and verified through source triangulation. The results show that adult homeless individuals generally experience learned helplessness as a result of habitual begging for instant survival, accompanied by defensive attitudes and psychological trauma at the early stage of guidance. The application of humanistic counseling, through stages of field approach, assessment, trust-building, and problem-solving, incorporating Rogers's three core conditions of empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence, proved effective in fostering counselees' self-awareness after two to three guidance sessions. This impact was evident in increased confidence in their capacity to work and willingness to undertake recommended informal jobs suited to their individual capacities, although long-term success still depends on the emergence of independent responsibility from within the counselee, rather than mere compliance with the program.

Abstract

This research departs from learning problems which are still dominated by lecture methods from teachers, while the space for students to be actively involved in the classroom is still very limited which results in low student learning outcomes. Seeing these conditions, the use of the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning model is one of the learning models that is considered relevant and able to answer these challenges. The purpose of this study is to describe the extent of the effectiveness of the application of the CPS model in influencing student learning outcomes, especially in science subjects. The research approach implemented in this study relies on experimental methods with the adoption of quantitative research. The researcher established the design of a one-group pretest-posttest as the core plan. Based on the results of the data processing that has been carried out, the average grade score obtained by grade V students of SD Negeri 115482 Pekan Marbau before the treatment (pre-test) is 59.4. Drastic changes emerged after the CPS model was implemented, where the average post-test score shot up to 81.2 with a standard deviation of 7.26 and a difference of profit of 21.8 points. Researchers can conclude that the use of the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model has been proven to have a positive and very meaningful impact on improving the learning outcomes of social studies of grade V students at SD Negeri 115482 Pekan Marbau for the 2025/2026 Academic Year.

Abstract

The S-Band radar is a primary navigational instrument used onboard ships to detect surrounding objects and support decision-making, particularly in low-visibility conditions. In practice, radar performance may degrade due to sensor failures or integration issues within the ship’s Integrated Bridge System (IBS). This study aims to analyze the factors causing performance disruption of the S-Band radar on MV Golden Rose while navigating in Bunati Waters, as well as to evaluate the compliance of the radar’s Planned Maintenance System (PMS) with the maintenance schedule. The findings reveal that the radar malfunction was triggered by simultaneous loss of essential sensor inputs—such as heading (HDG), speed through water (STW), Automatic Identification System (AIS), and unstable GPS data. Initial troubleshooting identified moisture on RS-422 connectors, possible corrosion, and component degradation due to aging. The study also found discrepancies between scheduled and actual maintenance activities, notably delayed antenna inspections.Overall, the degradation of radar performance is more dominantly caused by internal system deterioration, as indicated by corrosion and oxidation on navigation sensor connectors, instability in the power supply, and the gradual loss of sensor inputs as recorded in the radar operation logs caused by insufficient preventive maintenance and deteriorating hardware integrity. These findings highlight the need to strengthen radar maintenance procedures and improve sensor integration management to ensure safer navigation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Inquiry-Based Learning approach, focusing on the theme of the Sustainable Development Goals, in the statistics curriculum for 10th-grade. This study employed a qualitative approach using the case study method, involving 25 students and 1 teacher from Class selected through purposive sampling specifically, three students representing the high (ST), moderate (SS), and low (SR) ability categories. Data were collected through analysis of Student Worksheets (LKPD), interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through instrument validation by experts (expert judgment), source triangulation, and methodological triangulation. Data analysis utilized the Miles et al. (2014) v-model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results indicate that the Inquiry-Based Learning approach with the theme of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can help students build an understanding of statistical concepts through the stages of problem orientation, formulating questions, collecting and processing data, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions. The findings revealed differences in the level of understanding across each category of student ability. High-ability students were able to understand the concepts more deeply and connect the results of their analysis to the context of the SDGs, whereas students with moderate and low abilities still required guidance during the data analysis and interpretation stages. The use of SDG themes makes learning more contextual and increases student engagement; however, implementing this approach requires effective classroom management, teacher guidance, and good time management to ensure that each stage of Inquiry-Based Learning can proceed optimally.

Abstract

Education plays an essential role in developing human resources and improving the quality of life. One of the factors influencing the success of the learning process is students’ learning motivation. In mathematics learning, low learning motivation often causes students to be less active, easily give up when facing difficulties, and achieve unsatisfactory learning outcomes. Therefore, teachers are required to implement appropriate learning strategies to encourage students’ motivation. This study aims to analyze teacher strategies in improving mathematics learning motivation among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Rambay Kulon. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects consisted of one fifthgrade teacher and several fifth-grade students selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that teachers apply various strategies to improve students’ learning motivation, including providing learning motivation at the beginning of the lesson, conducting ice-breaking activities, applying contextual learning, utilizing learning media, and providing direct guidance to students. Supporting factors include adequate learning facilities, varied teaching methods, and effective classroom management, while environmental distractions outside the classroom become one of the obstacles. These strategies positively influence students’ enthusiasm, participation, confidence, and motivation in mathematics learning.

Abstract

Divorce terminates the marital bond but does not extinguish parental responsibility for children's education. This study analyzes the legal construction of post-divorce parental obligations, the barriers to fulfilling educational rights, and the institutional implications for primary schools. It employs normative juridical research using statutory, conceptual, and limited case approaches. Primary legal materials comprise Indonesian marriage, child protection, education, civil, and Islamic family law, supported by judicial policies and recent studies on child support and elementary pupils' learning motivation. The analysis finds that: first, both parents remain responsible for maintenance, education, protection, and meaningful contact after divorce; second, fragmented regulations converge on the best-interests-of-the-child principle and require educational costs to be treated as a continuing, needs-based obligation; and third, weak pleading, vague judgments, costly execution, unstable income, and parental conflict frequently transform formal rights into non-enforceable promises. The article proposes an integrated model combining detailed judicial orders, periodic adjustment and compliance monitoring, cooperative parenting, and confidential school-based support. Its contribution is to connect family-law enforcement with educational continuity, clarifying that schools support pupils' learning and well-being without replacing courts or adjudicating parental disputes.
