Abstract

The problem addressed in this study was the low learning motivation of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 06 Tanjung Aman. This study aimed to analyze the influence of emotional intelligence and the learning climate on students' learning motivation at the school. The study employed a quantitative approach using an ex post facto method. The data were collected by administering a Likert-scale questionnaire to all fifth-grade students as the respondents. The data was analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that, partially, emotional intelligence did not have a significant effect on learning motivation, whereas the learning climate had a significant effect on learning motivation. Simultaneously, emotional intelligence and the learning climate were found to have a significant effect on students' learning motivation, with the learning climate being the most dominant factor influencing learning motivation.

Abstract

Learning interest is one of the affective factors that plays an important role in the success of mathematics learning. The low learning interest of students is often influenced by the use of less varied learning media so that media innovation is needed that can create more interesting and interactive learning. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using Canva media assisted by Wayground on students' interest in learning mathematics in statistics material in high school. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of class X.7 as the experimental class and class X.9 as the control class selected using cluster random sampling techniques. Data were collected through a learning interest questionnaire, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Mann–Whitney U test with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics version 23. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that students' learning interest in the experimental class increased after learning using Canva media assisted by Wayground, while changes in the control class were relatively small. The results of the hypothesis test showed an Asymp. Sig. value. (2-tailed) of 0.022 (<0.05), which indicates a significant difference between the learning interests of students in the experimental class and the control class. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of Canva media assisted by Wayground is effective in increasing students' interest in learning mathematics in statistics material in high school.

Abstract

When a foundation opens a new school, two obligations arrive at once: meeting the National Education Standards (NES) and securing a legally valid operating permit. This study looks closely at that situation at St. Andrew's Primary School Kuatnana, a newly established elementary school under Yayasan Pelita Anglikan Indonesia, a foundation that also runs institutions ranging from a kindergarten to a vocational nursing school. A descriptive qualitative single case study design was used, with data gathered through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, document review, and literature study, then examined through a gap analysis against the eight NES. Findings show the school still has no valid operating permit, and four facility components a library, a playground, ICT facilities, and instructional aids remain unmet. Readiness across the eight NES is otherwise fairly solid, with five standards judged reasonably ready and three fully ready, so the more pressing obstacles sit in administration and facilities rather than in academic or managerial capacity. The study closes with a phased roadmap for meeting the standards, speeding up the permit process, and moving governance toward more participatory school-based management.

Abstract

Creative thinking is one of the essential 21st-century competencies that senior high school students need to master, yet classroom practice on environmental change material is still dominated by conventional, teacher-centered instruction that leaves students little room to design their own solutions to real environmental problems. This condition underlines the urgency of an interactive electronic student worksheet (e-LKPD) integrated with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model, which engages students directly in identifying problems, designing projects, and producing real solutions. This study examined the effectiveness of a PjBL-based e-LKPD on environmental change material in improving the creative thinking skills of tenthgrade students. A one-group pretest-posttest design was applied to 34 tenth-grade students of SMAN 1 Wonoayu, selected through purposive sampling, and effectiveness was determined by comparing pretest and posttest results using the N-Gain formula. The mean pretest score of 46.3 (low category) increased to a mean posttest score of 88.6 (very high category), producing an overall N-Gain of 0.78 (high category). Each creative-thinking indicator likewise showed high-category gains, with flexibility reaching 0.79, elaboration 0.80, and fluency 0.78. These findings confirm that the PjBL-based e-LKPD is effective for improving students' creative thinking skills on environmental change material and offers a relevant alternative to bridge the gap between 21st-century learning demands and current classroom practice.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of Halal Awareness, Social Media Marketing, and Destination Image on Muslim tourists' visit intention toward Muslim-friendly tourism destinations in East Java, a province with a large Muslim population and considerable but not yet optimally developed halal-tourism potential. A quantitative associative approach was employed through an online survey (Google Form) using a Likert scale, distributed to Muslim tourists selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS, covering outer model testing (convergent and discriminant validity, reliability), inner model testing (collinearity, R-square, Q-square, F-square), and hypothesis testing via bootstrapping. The results show that Halal Awareness and Destination Image each have a significant positive effect on visit intention, while Social Media Marketing has no significant direct effect. The three variables jointly contribute to explaining visit intention, though a considerable share of its variance remains unexplained by the model. These findings indicate that Muslim tourists' decisions are primarily value-driven, guided by halal awareness and destination image, while social media functions only as a complementary information channel rather than a direct determinant of visit intention. The study recommends that destination managers and local governments strengthen halal facility development, reinforce destination branding as Muslim-friendly, and redesign social media content to explicitly highlight halal attributes.

Abstract

English plays a significant role as a global language and has become an essential subject in higher education. However, university students demonstrate different levels of motivation in learning English as a foreign language (EFL), which may influence their learning outcomes. This study aimed to explore students' motivation in learning English at the English Education Study Program of Universitas Islam Batang Hari. A qualitative case study design was employed involving three highly motivated students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation and analyzed using Creswell's qualitative data analysis procedures. The findings reveal that students' motivation was influenced by both intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Intrinsic motivation emerged from students' personal interests, self-development, and future aspirations, whereas extrinsic motivation was strengthened through family support, lecturers, peers, digital media, and the academic environment. These findings indicate that meaningful learning experiences and supportive social relationships contribute significantly to sustaining students' motivation in learning English. This study provides insights for lecturers to create more motivating English learning environments in higher education.

Abstract

The development of students' talent and interest in Qur'anic tilawah requires a systematic learning model to improve recitation skills and encourage active participation in Qur'anic arts. This study aims to analyze the role of Jam'iyyah Ashwatul Mutammimah in fostering students' talent and interest in Qur'anic tilawah, describe the learning model implemented, and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors at Pondok Pesantren Ngalah Purwosari Pasuruan. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the learning model is implemented through regular training, talaqqi and mushafahah methods, maqamat instruction, vocal and breathing exercises, periodic evaluation, and participation in tilawah competitions. These activities significantly improve students' recitation skills, mastery of maqamat, vocal quality, self-confidence, and interest in tilawah. The program is supported by competent instructors, students' motivation, and institutional support, while limited training time and differences in students' abilities remain the main challenges.
