Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the nutritional status of adolescents in Harau District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, using measurements of body weight, height, blood pressure, as well as upper arm circumference (LILA) and waist circumference. The sample consisted of adolescents aged 10-18 years participating in Posyandu Remaja activities. Data obtained were analyzed descriptively to determine the variations in adolescent nutritional status and the relationship between body measurements and the potential risk of obesity and malnutrition. The results showed significant variations in adolescent nutritional status, with some adolescents experiencing malnutrition and others at risk of obesity. LILA and waist circumference measurements proved effective in assessing adolescent nutritional status more objectively. The Posyandu Remaja program plays an important role in increasing adolescents' health awareness, particularly regarding healthy eating habits and the importance of physical activity. Based on these findings, it is recommended to continuously enhance nutritional monitoring of adolescents and involve families and schools in supporting healthy lifestyles to prevent the risk of non-communicable diseases in the future.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran project based learning pada mata pelajaran IPS terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas V SDN Peterongan Semarang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi yang digunakan seluruh peserta didik kelas V SDN Peterongan yang berjumlah 28 peserta didik dengan teknik pengambilan nonprobability sampling atau sampel jenuh. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pretest–posttest design. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes dan dokumentasi. Pada penelitian ini peserta didik diberikan perlakukan berupa pretest dan posttest. Hasil uji hipotesis pada taraf signifikansi α = 0,05 dengan metode statistik paired sample T-test bahwa sig = 0,000 < α yang berarti Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran project based learning pada mata pelajaran IPS terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas V SDN Peterongan Semarang.

Abstract

This study addresses the problem of limited journalistic writing skills among students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program, particularly in composing structured, factual, and ethical news texts. Many students experience difficulties in applying news values, organizing information based on the 5W+1H principle, and using appropriate journalistic language. The purpose of this study was to provide structured assistance in news text writing and to examine its effectiveness in improving students’ news writing competence. The methodology employed was a mentoring-based training model using a descriptive qualitative and quantitative approach. The participants were university students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Program. The mentoring activities were conducted through workshops, guided practice, group discussions, peer review, and individual feedback sessions. Data were collected through observation, writing tests (pre-test and post-test), and documentation of students’ news texts. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ ability to identify news elements, organize information coherently, apply journalistic language features, and produce accurate and objective news texts. The average post-test scores increased compared to the pre-test results, and students demonstrated higher motivation and confidence in writing news. The study concludes that mentoring in news text writing is effective in enhancing students’ journalistic writing skills and can serve as an alternative model for strengthening writing instruction in higher education.

Abstract

The modernization of Islamic educational institutions is an inevitability in responding to contemporary challenges and competition with general educational institutions. This research aims to describe the concept of modernization of Islamic education in Indonesia, the background of the need for reform, and its historical dynamics over time. The research method used is library research with a descriptive-analytical approach. The results indicate that the modernization of Islamic education in Indonesia involves transformations in the aspects of goals, curriculum, educators, and students. Historically, this modernization was triggered by responses to colonial policies and continued to evolve until the reformation era through the strengthening of the Islamic education system within the national education system. These modernization efforts are carried out to improve the quality of Islamic education so that it remains relevant to developments in science and technology without abandoning its religious values.

Abstract

Waste management issues in rural areas remain a serious challenge requiring comprehensive and sustainable intervention. Bongo Nol Village, Paguyaman District, Boalemo Regency, faces challenges related to low community awareness regarding organic and non-organic waste management. This Community Service Program (KKM) aims to empower the community by providing waste management infrastructure in the form of organic and non-organic waste bins strategically placed in five hamlets. The implementation method includes field observation, needs analysis, design planning, waste bin production, educational labeling, distribution, and installation at strategic locations with active participation from Youth Organization (Karang Taruna) and local communities. The results demonstrate increased community understanding of the importance of waste sorting from the source and the availability of supporting facilities that enable residents to practice proper waste disposal habits according to waste types. This program serves as concrete evidence of students' contribution to creating a clean, healthy, and sustainable village environment through an education-infrastructure approach based on community participation.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and implement community development programs in Dumolodo Village, Gentuma Raya District, North Gorontalo Regency, focusing on the “Living Pharmacy” initiative and road infrastructure improvement. The methods involved community observation, data collection, and participatory program planning with local stakeholders. Results indicate successful establishment of home-based medicinal plant gardens (Living Pharmacy) and partial improvement of village roads, enhancing health awareness, accessibility, and socio-economic activities. Community responses were positive, reflecting increased knowledge and participation. The study concludes that well-structured community programs can effectively empower local residents, support sustainable development, and promote local health and economic welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) instructional strategy in the Al-Qur’an and Hadith subject for Grade IX Science B at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Medan and to identify its effects on students’ activeness, motivation, and understanding. The study adopts a qualitative approach using a phenomenological research design. Data were collected through direct classroom observations of the learning process, interviews with the Al-Qur’an and Hadith teacher and students, and document analysis. Data credibility was ensured through prolonged engagement, persistent observation, negative case analysis, and triangulation of sources and techniques. The findings indicate that the implementation of the CTL strategy has a positive impact on the learning process. Students appeared more active, enthusiastic, and engaged in discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and group presentations. Learning became more meaningful as the material on halal and thayyib food was connected to students’ real-life experiences, such as the types of food they consume in their daily lives. The CTL strategy also contributed to enhancing students’ learning motivation and critical thinking skills. Although some challenges were identified, such as a few students’ limited participation, overall the CTL strategy was successful in creating an active, collaborative, and real-life–relevant learning environment for students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh peserta didik kelas II yang ada di SD Supriyadi 02 Semarang selalu berbicara dengan sopan kepada siapapun, selalu berkata jujur dengan siapapun, dan selalu bertanggung jawab denga napa yang telah mereka lakukan. Berdasarkan latar belakang diatas peneliti ingin mengetahui strategi apa yang telah dilakukan oleh guru sehingga peserta didiknya mampu berbicara dengan sopan kepada siapa saja, mampu berkata jujur dengan siapa saja, dan mampu bertanggung jawab atas perilaku yang telah dilakukannya. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan datanya dengan observasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis datanya yaitu dengan menggunakan triangulasi data.

Abstract

This review aims to describe the implementation of the Discovery Learningl, earning strategy in the Al-Qur’an Hadith subject in class IX Science A6 Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Medan, and analyze its impact on the level of activity, motivation, and understanding of students. This study uses a qualitative approach with ap henomenological research type. Data collection techniques are carried outt hrough direct observation of the learning process in the classroom, interviews with Al-Qur’an Hadith subject teachers and students, and reviews of relevant learning documents. Data validity is strengthened through the application of extended participation techniques, observation persistence, negative case analysis, and triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the Discovery Learning strategy has a positive influence on the learning process. Students show increased activity, enthusiasm, and involvement in learning activities, such as group discussions, question and answer activities, and presentations of findings and critical thinking in problem solving. The learning process becomes more meaningful because students are directly involved in discovering material concepts about environmental damage in Raja Empat and analyzing information about the material. The Discovery Learning strategy also contributes to increasing students’ learning motivation and critical thinking skills. Although there are still obstacles in the form of power outages and suboptimal networks, in general the implementation of the Discovery Learning strategy is ablet o create an active, collaborative learning atmosphere between teachers andstudents.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve parents’ knowledge of early childhood personal hygiene through the development of an educational medium in the form of a standing poster at TK Nusa Indah, Sumberkare Village, Probolinggo Regency. Personal hygiene is a crucial aspect in supporting children’s health and independence; however, many preschool children still depend on their parents for basic self-care activities. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach consisting of problem identification, preliminary data collection, needs analysis, product design, expert validation, revision, and limited trials. The research subjects were parents of Group B students selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Quantitative data were analyzed using pretest–posttest comparisons, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically. The findings indicated that the developed standing poster media was feasible and effective in enhancing parents’ knowledge of children’s personal hygiene. Improved parental knowledge positively influenced children’s hygiene habits and independence in daily self-care practices. Therefore, standing poster media can serve as an effective educational tool to support collaboration between families and schools in promoting health and independence among early childhood learners.
