Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors causing the failure of the Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) during navigation on the Full ECDIS vessel MV. Tembaga Sea, and to formulate effective mitigation strategies to minimize the risk of navigational disturbances. As the primary navigation system on a Full ECDIS vessel, ECDIS plays a crucial role in ensuring maritime safety; therefore, system failure may significantly impact ship operations. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection was conducted through direct observation during the sea practice period (PRALA), in-depth interviews with the Chief Officer, Second Officer, and Third Officer, and documentation studies. Mitigation efforts include improving regular and scheduled maintenance, optimizing system and storage management, conducting training and familiarization on handling ECDIS failures, and strengthening supervision and evaluation by the company

Abstract

This study aims to analyze efforts to improve teacher performance through transactional leadership style, work motivation, and job satisfaction in private junior high schools in Setu District, South Tangerang City. The study employs a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The population includes all teachers of private junior high schools in the area, with samples selected through proportional random sampling. The research instrument consists of a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability, and the data are analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that partially, Transactional Leadership Style (X1) has a positive and significant effect on Teacher Performance with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Work Motivation (X2) also shows a positive and significant effect on Teacher Performance with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Job Satisfaction (X3) has a positive and significant effect on Teacher Performance with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Simultaneous testing reveals that Transactional Leadership Style, Work Motivation, and Job Satisfaction collectively have a significant effect on Teacher Performance (X1; X2; X3 = 0.000; 0.000; 0.000 < 0.05). These findings suggest that improving teacher performance can be achieved through strengthening the principal’s leadership, enhancing work motivation, and creating optimal job satisfaction.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of academic supervision, organizational culture, and infrastructure, individually and collectively, on the motivation of elementary school teachers in Pamulang, South Tangerang City. This study used a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The study population consisted of 234 teachers, with a sample of 148 respondents determined using the Slovin formula. The data collection instrument used a five-choice Likert scale questionnaire, the validity and reliability of which have been tested. Data analysis techniques used descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression analysis, processed with SPSS version 27. The results showed that: (1) There is a positive and significant effect of academic supervision on teacher motivation, with a contribution of 81.1%. (2) There is a positive and significant effect of organizational culture on teacher motivation, with a contribution of 54.5%. (3) There is a positive and significant effect of infrastructure on teacher motivation, with a contribution of 63.3%. (4) The results of the simultaneous test show that there is a positive and significant influence together between academic supervision, organizational culture, and infrastructure on teacher motivation with a value of $F_{calculated}$ 223.791 > $F_{table}$ 2.67 and a significance level of <0.001. These three variables collectively contribute 82.3% to teacher motivation, while the remaining 17.7% is influenced by other factors outside this study. This indicates that strengthening leadership mentoring, a healthy work climate, and the provision of integrated physical facilities are the main keys to increasing teacher work enthusiasm in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation and management of Islamic education within a decentralized educational system in West Sumatra, Indonesia, specifically in the cities of Padang and Padang Panjang. The shift from a centralized to a decentralized governance structure in 1999 provided local governments with greater autonomy over education, allowing them to tailor educational policies to the needs of their communities. This research focuses on the role of local government in overseeing Islamic education in various school types, including public schools, Islamic boarding schools, and pesantren. Using a qualitative approach, the study collects data through interviews with key stakeholders such as education authorities, school principals, and teachers as well as document analysis from government and educational institutions. The findings highlight the diverse methods of implementing Islamic education in these cities and the challenges faced by local authorities in aligning Islamic education with both national curriculum standards and religious values. The study reveals the flexibility and adaptability of schools in West Sumatra in responding to the decentralization of education and offers insights into the intersection of policy, practice, and local values in shaping the educational landscape.

Abstract

Sexual violence is a serious issue that has widespread impacts on victims' psychological conditions, particularly in the context of education. This study aims to analyze the psychological impacts of sexual violence on learning motivation, identify factors that exacerbate these conditions, and examine strategies to address them. The research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analyzing 12 SINTA-indexed journal articles published between 2020 and 2025, and 2 relevant academic books. The findings indicate that the psychological impacts of sexual violence are multidimensional, encompassing emotional, cognitive, social, and behavioral aspects that significantly affect victims' learning motivation. Factors such as lack of social support, social stigma and victim blaming, unsafe educational environments, and limited psychosocial assistance contribute to the decline in learning motivation. Effective interventions include psychological support, the implementation of Psychological First Aid (PFA), strengthening the role of educational institutions in creating safe environments, and enhancing social support from family and peers. A holistic and integrated approach is essential in supporting psychological recovery and sustainably improving victims' leaming motivation.

Abstract

The OPTIC-SCRAP approach is used to facilitate systematic visual analysis, but learning challenges remain. This study aims to identify how the OPTIC-SCRAP approach is implemented in Geology courses and the learning challenges faced by students using the OPTIC-SCRAP approach. This study employed a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. Purposive sampling was used based on the results of a preliminary spatial literacy test, resulting in 29 undergraduate students from the class of 2025 being selected as the study sample. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that underwent validity and reliability testing. Data were then analyzed using descriptive statistics. The test results showed that out of 49 items, 38 were valid, and a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.941 was obtained. The results indicate that the application of the OPTIC-SCRAP approach over four sessions gradually improved students' abilities, from descriptive to evaluative, and strengthened critical thinking, spatial analysis, and self-confidence, making it effective in problem-solving-based geology learning. Based on the application of OPTIC-SCRAP, learning obstacles are dominated by internal factors with a fairly high category with a score of 60.2 while external factors have a score of 40. If viewed from gender, in terms of internal factors, women have a score of 61.14 with a fairly high category while men have a score of 51.5 with a low category. In terms of external factors, women have a score of 40.90 with a fairly high category while men have a score of 34 with a low category. Based on academic background, social studies students have a fairly high category of learning obstacles in the internal factor with a score of 61.81 and external factors with a score of 41.44, while science students are in the low category with a score of 51 on internal factors and 35 on external factors. Overall, this study confirms that the OPTIC-SCRAP approach is effective in improving the quality of geology learning, but still requires optimization, especially in overcoming learning obstacles originating from students' internal factors so that learning outcomes can be achieved more optimally and evenly.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of transformational leadership in archival management and its impact on the effectiveness of records management within organizations. Transformational leadership is considered an approach that encourages change, innovation, and improvement in human resource performance, including in the archival field. This research employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. The results indicate that leaders who apply a transformational style are able to increase awareness of the importance of archives, encourage digitalization, and foster a more adaptive and collaborative work culture. Furthermore, this leadership style plays a significant role in enhancing the competence of archival staff through continuous guidance and motivation. Therefore, transformational leadership has a strategic role in improving the quality of archival management. Abstract

Records management plays a crucial role in supporting effective governance in educational institutions, especially in the digital era characterized by rapid technological advancements. This study aims to analyze the role of records management in improving efficiency, information security, and the quality of educational services. The research employs a qualitative approach using literature review and document analysis techniques. The findings indicate that the implementation of digital records management systems enhances the speed of information retrieval, minimizes data loss risks, and improves transparency and accountability. Additionally, the use of technologies such as electronic document management systems and cloud storage contributes to information security through controlled access and data backup mechanisms. Effective records management also improves the quality of educational services by ensuring that information is accessible quickly, accurately, and reliably. Therefore, digital-based records management has become a strategic necessity for educational institutions in addressing the challenges of the digital era. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the problems of educational leadership in managing archival administration within educational institutions. Effective records management plays a crucial role in supporting orderly, accountable, and sustainable educational administration. However, in practice, several issues persist, including the lack of archival management competence, limited leadership attention to archival systems, and suboptimal use of information technology. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the main problems lie in weak leadership roles in planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising archival management. Additionally, limited human resources and infrastructure serve as significant obstacles. Therefore, adaptive, visionary, and innovation-oriented educational leadership is needed to improve the quality of archival management in educational institutions. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the digitalization of records management from the perspective of educational leadership in the era of information technology. Technological advancements require educational institutions to transform their archival management systems to become more effective, efficient, and systematic. Educational leadership plays a strategic role in directing policies, decision-making, and implementing digital archival systems in schools. This research employs a qualitative approach through literature review by examining various relevant scientific sources such as journals, books, and previous studies. The findings indicate that digital archival systems enhance accessibility, security, and efficiency in records management. Furthermore, adaptive, innovative, and visionary educational leadership is a key factor in the successful implementation of digital records management. Therefore, the synergy between technology and educational leadership is essential to achieve effective archival governance in the digital era.
