Abstract

Character education can be instilled in various environments, one of which is within the household. Character education in the family is realized through the education and teaching provided by parents to their children, particularly regarding manners, good morals, and the ethics of speaking and communicating in everyday life. This is especially important in the digital age, where almost all aspects of life have been maximized through technology. The development of digital technology has had a negative impact, especially among teenagers, as seen in the large number of teenagers who are still uncivilized in speaking to older people, are rude in their communication, and use coarse and inappropriate language in their daily lives. In addition, teenagers are also often unwise in uploading content and posting comments on social media. Many inappropriate slang terms are absorbed from social media, such as anjay, anjir, asu (dog), bangsat, kapret, and bacot, which are then carried over into everyday communication and social media. This study aims to determine the influence and extent of character education in households on the ethical communication skills of adolescents in the digital age in Jorong Koto Baru Sariak Laweh, Akabiluru District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. The method used is quantitative correlational with data collection techniques in the form of questionnaire distribution and documentation. The population and sample consisted of 78 respondents. Data analysis techniques included correlation analysis, simple linear regression, t-test, and determination test (R²). The results of the analysis showed a regression equation of Y = 38.272 + 0.494X with a coefficient of determination of 0.142. This means that character education in the household has a positive effect on the ethical communication of adolescents by 14.2%, although the contribution is relatively weak but significant.

Abstract

Early reading is the initial stage of reading instruction that emphasizes the recognition of written language symbols and their relationship with language sounds. However, in practice, some students still experience difficulties in early reading, which may have implications for their overall literacy skills. This study aims to describe the forms and factors contributing to early reading difficulties among second-grade students at SDN Cikaret. This study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of twenty second-grade students at SDN Cikaret. Data were collected through observation and tests of students’ early reading abilities, interviews with the classroom teacher and students, and documentation as supporting instruments in the form of learning outcomes and instructional records. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students experienced various early reading difficulties, including difficulties in recognizing letters, distinguishing letters with similar shapes or sounds, blending syllables into words, and reading simple words and sentences fluently. These difficulties were influenced by internal factors, such as low phonological ability, motivation, and interest in reading, as well as external factors, including a lack of parental assistance at home and limited variation in reading instruction methods at school. This study is expected to serve as a basis for teachers in designing more effective early reading instruction tailored to students’ needs.

Abstract

There were several reasons for conducting this study, students’ seriousness in attending writing news text were still low and not excited. Therefore, the teacher must choose and apply an effective teaching learning model to improve students’ abilities in writing news text. This study aims to improve students’ abilities in writing news text through picture and picture model and investigated students’ responses through teaching writing news text by using picture and picture. The experiment is the research method of this study. The control and experiment class were given pre-test and post-test to know the students’ abilities before and after treatment. The questionnaire also used to gain the data about students’ responses through teaching writing news text by using picture and picture. The research finding shows that the picture and picture model is effective to improve students’ ability in writing news text. The indicators of the success are that: (1) the mean of pre-test result in the experiment class was 48.71, meanwhile the mean of post-test result was 69.03; (2) the students’ responses through questionnaires found that the application picture and picture model was very positive.

Abstract

Model pembelajaran merupakan ujung tombak kegiatan pembelajaran. Pemilihan model yang tidak tepat kerap menimbulkan dampak pada penurunan hasil belajar peserta didik. Model problem based learning (PBL) dengan fokus pembelajaran yang berpusat pada pemecahan masalah oleh peserta didik membuat pembelajaran menjadi aktif dan atraktif. Tujuan dilaksanakannya penelitian ini untuk meninjau efektivitas model PBL dalam pembelajaran membandingkan nilai-nilai dan kebahasaan dalam cerita rakyat dan cerpen. Melalui pendekatan kuantitatif penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent control group design. Penelitian ini menghasilkan peningkatan pada hasil belajar peserta didik kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model PBL yang dibandingkan melalui prates dan pascates. Selain perbandingan sebelum dan sesudah, diketahui nilai kelas eksperimen lebih unggul dari kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model direct instruction. Dengan rata-rata nilai yang diraih oleh kelas eksperimen untuk prates sebesar 43,96 dan rata-rata nilai pascates sebesar 84,15. Sementara rat-rata nilai prates yang diperoleh kelas kontrol sebesar 32,62 dan rata-rata nilai pascates sebesar 66,38. Selanjutnya hasil uji statistik menunjukkan nilai signifikansi < 0.05 yang berarti bahwa problem based learning terbukti efektif untuk pembelajaran membandingkan nilai-nilai dan kebahasaan dalam cerita rakyat dan cerpen.

Abstract

The quick advancement of information technology has made online shopping via e-commerce sites a component of students' lives. As active internet users, information systems students have a wide range of traits and factors to consider when making online purchases. The objective of this research is to categorize students from the 2023 cohort of Information Systems students based on behavioral similarities utilizing the K-Means Clustering approach and to assess the variables affecting their online purchasing patterns. Data mining methodologies are used in this study's quantitative approach. The survey, which was answered by 100 participants, was used to gather the data online. Price, discounts, product reviews, customer feedback, product photos and descriptions, product comparisons, and purchase satisfaction are among the variables studied. The findings suggest that there should be three clusters. Price and promotion-sensitive consumers are represented by the first cluster, while the second cluster centers on quality and satisfaction, and the third is made up of rational and thorough shoppers. According to these findings, K-Means Clustering can be used to objectively divide students' online shopping behavior.

Abstract

Technological transformation in the era of Society 5.0 requires the education sector to develop digital literacy that is not only oriented toward technical skills but also toward strengthening character education. This study aims to describe the implementation of digital literacy in elementary school teachers’ instructional videos, identify the character values embedded in the learning process, and reveal teachers’ perspectives on the integration of digital literacy and character education. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with an instrumental case study design. Data were collected through content analysis of instructional videos and semi-structured interviews with teachers. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and member checking. The findings indicate that digital literacy-based learning is able to foster character values such as responsibility, discipline, cooperation, honesty, and digital ethics. Teachers play a role as facilitators in guiding the use of technology to ensure alignment with the goals of students’ character development. Therefore, the integration of digital literacy and character education is an essential strategy in elementary school learning in the digital era.

Abstract

Learning media based on Articulate Storyline 3 is an interactive learning media used as a means of supporting teachers in delivering material in an interesting and easy-to-understand way for students through the use of text, images, videos, and animations. The use of this media is one of the innovations in the development of technology-based learning media. This study aims to develop learning media based on Articulate Storyline 3 on the Greenhouse Effect material using the Research and Development (R&D) method and the ADDIE model. The study was conducted at SDN Kedung Halang 1, Bogor City in grade IV involving one teacher and 40 students. The results of the study showed that the learning media developed was in the very suitable category for use, with a percentage of assessments from media experts of 88%, linguists 80%, lecturer material experts 87%, teacher material experts 80%, teacher responses 90%, and student responses 96.9%. Thus, learning media based on Articulate Storyline 3 is very suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

Teaching strategies play an important role in determining the success of learning and student learning outcomes. A common problem in educational practice is the use of learning strategies that lack variety and are still teacher-centered, resulting in low student engagement. This study aims to examine the effect of teaching strategies on student learning outcomes based on previous research. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature study. Data were obtained from relevant national scientific journal articles and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study show that active, contextual learning strategies that encourage direct student involvement, such as discovery learning and problem-based learning, have been proven to increase student motivation, understanding, and learning outcomes. Conversely, passive and one-way learning strategies have less of a significant impact. Thus, the selection of appropriate teaching strategies greatly influences the improvement of learning quality and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai sejarah, visi dan misi Muhammadiyah serta kontribusinya dalam bidang pendidikan dan sosial kemasyarakatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan dengan menelaah sumber-sumber kepustakaan seperti buku, jurnal, makalah, artikel, dan laporan yang relevan dengan masalah penelitian. Hasil Pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa Muhammadiyah secara konsisten mengimplementasikan dakwah amar ma’ruf nahi munkar dan tajdid melalui pengembangan amal usaha, khususnya pendidikan dan pelayanan sosial, sehingga berkontribusi signifikan terhadap pembangunan sumber daya manusia dan kesejahteraan masyarakat Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji Islam sebagai pedoman hidup yang komprehensif dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat dan berbangsa. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai Islam sebagai landasan moral, etika, dan sosial dalam membangun kehidupan masyarakat dan negara yang harmonis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif melalui studi kepustakaan dengan menelaah Al-Qur’an, Hadis, serta berbagai buku dan artikel ilmiah yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa ajaran Islam berfungsi sebagai pedoman moral, kontrol sosial, pemersatu bangsa, dan dasar keadilan dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat dan berbangsa. Penerapan nilai-nilai Islam secara konsisten diharapkan mampu mewujudkan masyarakat yang adil, damai, dan berkeadaban sesuai dengan konsep Islam sebagai rahmatan lil ‘alamin.
