Abstract

Based on the results of observations conducted by researchers in class IV of SD Negeri 8 Langsa, it was found that when learning media was not fully used, learning more often used textbooks and picture media. This study aims to develop a learning media product based on digital flipbook storybooks in Mathematics Learning, especially Fraction material for class IV of elementary school. This research is a type of R&D research and development with the ADDIE model consisting of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluationi". The results of practitioners from teacher response questionnaires and student responses, teacher responses obtained a percentage of 97.14% with the criteria "very practical" and student responses found a percentage of 93.65% with the criteria "very practical". As for student learning outcomes by conducting a Normality test (N-Gain) of 70.10% with the criteria "effective". From the results of the assessment of digital-based flipbook storybook media, it can be concluded that digital-based flipbook storybook learning media in class IV Mathematics learning is very feasible to be applied for learning

Abstract

Learning interest is one of the important factors that determine the success of the learning process for elementary school students. However, in practice, learning is still often carried out conventionally with limited use of media, resulting in low interest and participation of students in learning. Learning media is seen as a means of creating learning that is more interesting, interactive, and meaningful for students. This study aims to analyze the role of learning media on elementary school students' interest in learning based on relevant research results. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with a literature study method. Data were obtained from various sources, including national and international scientific journal articles and reference books discussing learning media and the learning interest of elementary school students over the past five to seven years. Data collection was carried out through documentation, while data analysis used content analysis. The results of the study show that interactive learning media, digital learning media, and visual media have a positive effect on increasing the learning interest of elementary school students. Interactive and digital media proved to be more effective than conventional learning media because they were able to increase students' active involvement, attention, and enthusiasm in the learning process. However, conventional media still plays a supporting role in strengthening students' basic understanding. Thus, the creative and integrated use of learning media can be an effective strategy in increasing the learning interest of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of zero waste lifestyle education through social media on increasing knowledge, pro-environmental attitudes, and zero waste behavior adoption among Generation Z in elementary schools. The growing waste problem, especially in Indonesia, demands innovative solutions, and Generation Z, as digital natives, are identified as potential agents of change. The continuously increasing waste problem in Indonesia has severe impacts on the environment, health, and economy, exacerbated by suboptimal waste management practices and increasing waste generation due to urbanization and consumerism. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of zero waste lifestyle education via social media in enhancing knowledge, attitudes, and zero waste behavior among Generation Z students at SDN Ciputat.

Abstract

Learning in elementary schools still faces problems of low student participation and motivation, one of which is influenced by teaching styles that are not interactive and do not suit student characteristics. Teaching styles play an important role in creating active and meaningful learning. This study aims to theoretically examine the impact of teachers' teaching styles on the participation and learning motivation of elementary school students. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a literature review. Data were obtained from scientific journal articles and relevant academic sources, which were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study show that interactive, democratic teaching styles that are appropriate to student characteristics can increase student participation and learning motivation. In addition, the application of adaptive teaching styles creates a conducive, student-centered learning environment. Therefore, the development of appropriate teaching styles is a key factor in improving the quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are essential 21st-century skills that must be instilled starting from elementary education, particularly in Mathematics. This study aims to describe the level of critical thinking skills of third-grade students at UPT SD Negeri Dikir in the subject of time units and to identify the influencing factors. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The subjects consisted of 24 third-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and problem-based essay tests, and then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive technique. The results showed that the students' overall critical thinking skills were in the very low category, representing 65% of the total population. Specifically, the indicators for basic clarification and analysis were in the moderate category, while the inference indicator (drawing conclusions) was in the low category. This low proficiency is influenced by external factors such as conventional teaching methods (lecturing), lack of variety in learning media, and insufficient stimulation from parents. Dominant internal factors include low learning motivation, poor reading interest, and limited understanding of the material. This study concludes that more interactive and contextual learning innovations are required to foster students' critical thinking skills from an early age.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are one of the competencies that need to be developed in today's digital era. In the 21st century, students are required to be able to develop life skills and soft skills including critical thinking skills. Problem Based Learning is a learning model that encourages students to learn and work in groups to solve problems, think critically and analytically. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the Problem Based Learning learning model on mathematical critical thinking skills. The research method used in this research is quantitative. This type of research is an experiment with a Pre-experimental design type of Pretest-Postest One-Group Design. The data collection technique in this study is in the form of a description test which refers to indicators of critical thinking skills. Data analysis was carried out using the normality test to obtain a Sig value of 0.143 which indicates that the data is normally distributed. While testing the hypothesis using the paired sample t-test formula obtained a value of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.002 is less than the value of 0.050 so that it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning learning model on the mathematical critical thinking skills of third grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Reading and writing literacy constitute the primary foundation of Indonesian language learning for lower-grade elementary school students. Strong literacy skills play a crucial role in supporting students’ academic success at subsequent levels of education. However, various studies indicate that the reading and writing literacy abilities of elementary school students in Indonesia remain relatively low. Therefore, a comprehensive review is required to map research findings related to efforts to improve reading and writing literacy in Indonesian language learning. This study aims to systematically analyze national research findings on reading and writing literacy among lower-grade elementary school students. The method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by analyzing 13 national journal articles indexed in SINTA 4–5 and published between 2015 and 2024. The SLR process was conducted through the stages of planning, implementation, and reporting, using strict inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of the review indicate that the implementation of innovative learning strategies, the use of contextual media, and activity-based literacy approaches are able to significantly improve students’ reading and writing skills. These findings provide important implications for elementary school teachers in designing Indonesian language instruction that is oriented toward strengthening basic literacy skills.

Abstract

Learning in primary schools plays a strategic role in developing students’ cognitive abilities, attitudes, and skills. However, learning practices in primary schools continue to face various challenges, including low levels of student engagement, the dominance of teacher-centered instruction, and the mismatch between instructional strategies and students’ developmental characteristics. These conditions negatively affect the quality of learning processes and outcomes. This article aims to analyze learning-related problems in primary schools and to propose strategic solutions through student-centered learning innovation. This study employs a literature review method with a conceptual analysis approach based on relevant scientific publications, educational policies, and previous research findings. The analysis indicates that student-centered learning innovation serves as a strategic solution to enhance students’ engagement, autonomy, and learning motivation through the implementation of active, contextual, collaborative, and reflective learning approaches. Therefore, student-centered learning innovation functions not merely as an instructional shift but as a strategic effort to improve the quality of learning in primary schools

Abstract

Educational administration plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of education in elementary schools. Educational administration is not only concerned with record-keeping but also encompasses the management of all school activities to ensure they run smoothly and in accordance with educational objectives. This paper aims to discuss the objectives of educational administration and the functions of educational administration in the context of elementary school education. The method used is a literature review by reviewing various books and journals relevant to the topic of educational administration. The results of the study indicate that the purpose of educational administration is to help achieve educational objectives through effective management of school resources. The functions of educational administration, which include planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising, are essential in the implementation of school activities. The implementation of good educational administration can support the smooth running of the learning process and create an orderly learning environment in elementary schools

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa di tingkat Sekolah Dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah Literature Review terhadap 25 artikel ilmiah nasional (terakreditasi Sinta 2 hingga Sinta 5) dan internasional bereputasi (Scopus Q1). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model PBL secara konsisten memberikan pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam berbagai mata pelajaran seperti IPA, IPS, Pendidikan Pancasila, dan Matematika. Data penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa bervariasi dari kategori sedang hingga tinggi, dengan signifikansi yang didukung oleh berbagai uji statistik seperti uji-t dan N-gain. Dalam beberapa studi komparasi, model PBL terbukti lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan model konvensional, Problem Solving, Inquiry Learning, dan Problem Posing.
