Abstract

Language errors are still commonly found in Indonesian language learning atthe elementary school level, especially in the field of morphology. This study aims todescribe the forms of morphological language errors made by elementary schoolstudents and the factors causing these errors. This research used a descriptivequalitative method with data sources in the form of students’ essays. Data collectiontechniques were carried out through observation, documentation, and note-takingtechniques. The data analysis technique was conducted by identifying, classifying, and describing morphological errors found in students’ writings. The results showedthat the most dominant morphological errors included errors in affixation, prepositionwriting, the use of standard words, and reduplication. These errors were influencedby several factors, such as the influence of regional languages, students’ lack ofunderstanding of Indonesian language rules, lack of writing practice, and the habitof using non-standard language in daily communication. Based on the results of thestudy, it can be concluded that elementary school students’ morphological abilitiesstill need to be improved through more effective Indonesian language learning andthe use of interesting learning media. This study is expected to become a referencefor teachers and future researchers in improving elementary school students’language skills.

Abstract

The meteorological drought that struck South Central Timor Regency (TTS) in 2023 caused a clean water crisis with serious impacts on community life. This study aims to deeply analyze community-based clean water crisis management strategies as well as mitigation and preparedness efforts in facing meteorological drought disasters in TTS Regency from the perspective of public administration and government governance. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 22 purposively selected informants, participatory observation, and documentation study. Data analysis used the interactive analysis model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (2014) encompassing data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that cross-sector coordination in water crisis management remains very weak due to authority fragmentation, lack of formal contingency plans, and insufficient institutional capacity of TTS Regency BPBD. Communities developed adaptive strategies based on local wisdom such as the amaf system (traditional water source guardians) and inter-hamlet water-sharing networks, but these capacities are being eroded by modernization and migration. This study recommends strengthening disaster governance through the formation of a District-Level Emergency Water Management Command System (SKPDA), revitalization of traditional water management institutions, and integration of drought risk management into the TTS Regency RPJMD regional planning document.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the difficulties in creative and logical thinking abilities of fifth-grade students at SD IT Fadhilah Pekanbaru and the factors influencing these difficulties. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving four fifth-grade students with low creative and logical thinking abilities and one classroom teacher as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and tests, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings revealed that students experienced difficulties in creative thinking skills, including fluency, flexibility, and originality, as well as logical thinking skills, including clarity of thought, argumentation, abstraction, and reasoning. These difficulties were influenced by internal factors such as low learning motivation, lack of self-confidence, limited ability to understand problems, and difficulty explaining thought processes. External factors included learning environments and teaching methods that had not optimally supported the development of students' thinking abilities. Therefore, learning activities that encourage students to actively develop ideas, express opinions, and solve problems independently are needed.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comparative paradigms of Islamic education and Western education from the perspective of philosophy of education, particularly focusing on ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions. Islamic education is fundamentally based on a theocentric paradigm that positions revelation as the primary source of knowledge and emphasizes spiritual and moral values as the foundation of the educational process. In contrast, Western education developed from the traditions of rationalism and empiricism, which emphasize the role of human reason and empirical experience as the basis for the development of scientific knowledge. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method by examining various scholarly sources discussing the concepts of Islamic and Western education. The findings indicate that Islamic education promotes a holistic orientation that integrates intellectual, spiritual, and moral development. On the other hand, modern Western education primarily focuses on rational development, critical thinking skills, and mastery of science and technology in responding to the dynamics of modern society. These differing paradigms influence not only the educational objectives but also affect curriculum structures, learning methodologies, and pedagogical relationships between teachers and students. Despite these fundamental differences, both educational systems possess the potential to complement each other in developing contemporary educational frameworks. The integration of spiritual and moral values from Islamic education with the scientific approach and pedagogical innovations of Western education may offer an alternative model for building a more comprehensive and holistic educational system capable of addressing global challenges in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze student responses to the use of Google Sites as a learning medium for demand, supply, and equilibrium price material in class X-5 SMAN 1 Medan. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with 13 students as research subjects. Data were collected through in-depth interviews using four structured questions covering aspects of comprehension ease, visual display perception, learning engagement level, and conceptual understanding in real-life contexts. The results indicate that 61.5% of students found Google Sites helpful or very helpful in understanding economics material, 84.6% gave positive assessments of Google Sites' visual display, 69.2% found learning through Google Sites more engaging than conventional instruction, and 69.2% reported better understanding of demand, supply, and equilibrium price concepts in real-life contexts. However, 30.8% of students still considered the teacher's lecture method more effective due to direct interaction and instant feedback. These findings suggest that Google Sites holds significant potential as a digital learning medium, but its effectiveness would be more optimal when synergistically integrated with conventional instructional methods. The findings align with the Multimedia Learning Theory (Mayer, 2009), Constructivism Theory, and previous research on the effectiveness of technology-based learning media.

Abstract

Rural communities require educational programs that not only improve literacy but also strengthen practical competencies relevant to local resources. This study examines the implementation of an agroforestry-based non-formal education program at PKBM Argowilis Cilongok, Banyumas Regency, and its contribution to enhancing learners’ life skills. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Participants included PKBM managers, tutors, and learners who were actively engaged in agroforestry activities. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the integration of agroforestry into non-formal education creates a contextual and experiential learning environment where learners participate directly in intercropping practices, land management, plant cultivation, and the processing of agricultural products. This learning model not only improves technical agricultural competencies but also develops entrepreneurial skills, problem-solving abilities, self-confidence, and economic independence. Furthermore, the program promotes environmental awareness and encourages the sustainable use of local natural resources. The study concludes that agroforestry-based non-formal education serves as an effective strategy for community empowerment by connecting educational, ecological, and economic dimensions within a single learning framework. The model demonstrates strong potential for adaptation and replication in other rural community learning centers with similar environmental and socio-economic characteristics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of scientific exploration and scientific thinking procedures toward improving students’ Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) at the elementary and secondary education levels. The research method used was a literature study by analyzing various previous studies related to the development of higher-order thinking skills through scientific approaches and active learning models. The results showed that the low level of students’ HOTS was caused by the dominance of conventional learning and the use of teaching materials that did not sufficiently stimulate critical thinking skills. However, through the implementation of scientific exploration activities such as debates, discussions, discovery learning, and guided inquiry, students were able to develop their analyzing, evaluating, and creating skills more optimally. The findings also indicate that systematic scientific thinking procedures help students process information critically so that HOTS can develop effectively. The implication of this study emphasizes the importance of teachers designing contextual learning and using teaching materials that encourage students to think critically rather than merely focusing on memorization.
