Abstract

Among the various modern-style housing in Pasar Kamis Village, Kertak Hanyar Subdistrict, Banjar Regency, one can find houses that combine local wisdom backgrounds. Houses in Pasar Kamis Village incorporate local wisdom contexts with house building designs resembling Banjar palimasan houses, which were used during the kingdom era as treasurer's residences for caring for the kingdom's gold and silver. This study uses descriptive methodology based on qualitative approach to analyze the development of housing construction in Villa Wira Karya Complex and to characterize the process of house manifestation in Villa Wira Karya Complex by collecting data through the community of Villa Wira Karya Complex and housing real estate developers. Data collection techniques are conducted through residence observation, especially in Villa Wira Karya Complex in Pasar Kamis Village, interviews, and documentation and photography. The development of traditional houses to modern houses in Villa Wira Complex represents a significant shift towards modern design and technology, including aspects of design, more modern building materials, and benefits. The development in Villa Wira Karya Complex covers aspects of design, building materials of the houses, as well as the usefulness of the house ornaments, reflecting adaptation to the times. Houses in Villa Wira Karya Complex, adopting the concept of local wisdom such as Banjar Palimasan houses, are an important part of cultural heritage and local identity that must be preserved.

Abstract

Kertak Hanyar District is a sustainable food agriculture area with the potential and functionality intended for rice in wetlands and drylands. This makes Kertak Hanyar sub-district one of the local paddy or rice-producing areas in Banjar Regency. However, currently most of the agricultural land in Kertak Hanyar District, especially in Belayung Baru Village, has been converted into residential areas, so its contribution is relatively small to rice production in Banjar Regency. The aim of writing this article is to describe why agricultural land can be converted into a community residential area in Belayung Baru Village. In this research, the approach used is a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by observing, interviewing, documenting, recording, and studying literature. The results of this research describe that the factors causing the conversion of agricultural land into residential areas in Belayung Baru Village are strategic location, relatively high land prices, and population growth occurring in the capital city of Banjarmasin, which has an impact on the conversion of agricultural land into residential areas in Belayung Baru Village, Kertak Hanyar District as well as ease of licensing housing construction by the Regional Government.

Abstract

Banjar Traditional Houses, such as Rumah Bubungan Tinggi, are an important representation of Banjar's cultural identity and are protected as cultural heritage. Facing the challenges of globalization and changing times, it is important to maintain and preserve local culture through education, participation in cultural activities, and tourism promotion that highlights local uniqueness. This study aims to describe the condition of the Bubungan Tinggi Traditional House in Selong Ulu Bay as a tourist attraction and to explore its preservation efforts. Using descriptive qualitative methods through observation, interviews, and documentation, this study found that although the Bubungan Tinggi Traditional House still functions as a tourist destination, its condition is fragile due to the age of almost 200 years and there is a lack of promotion and information about this traditional house. The visit activities are carried out free of charge, but the use of social media and collaboration with young people are needed to increase visitor interest and preserve culture. The conclusion of this study is that although the Bubungan Tinggi Traditional House is still active as a tourist attraction, regular cultural preservation and cultural development are needed to increase economic benefits for the local community and ensure the sustainability of the cultural heritage.

Abstract

Natural disasters such as floods can be caused by both natural and non-natural factors, such as human activities. The convergence of human activities, static environmental conditions, and dynamic natural phenomena can result in flooding. Static natural elements (topography, rivers, and geographical conditions) and dynamic natural factors (rainfall, tidal currents, land subsidence, and river sedimentation) are the causes of flooding disasters. Tunggul Irang Ilir Village is a village located in the Martapura District of Banjar Regency that experiences flooding every year. It is known that the floods in Tunggul Irang Ilir Village involve several factors, primarily due to the village's geographic conditions, making the area prone to flooding disasters. Therefore, research is conducted on the geographical conditions' impact on flooding in Tunggul Irang Ilir Village to understand the village's geographical conditions and their influence on the floods that occur annually. Using a qualitative descriptive research method, data is collected through documentation, interviews, and observation. Data analysis involves stages such as data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. This research employs data triangulation, technique triangulation, and time triangulation to test validity. The results of the research indicate that geographic conditions, including the village's location, climate, weather, low land topography, and Martapura River overflow, are factors causing floods in Tunggul Irang Ilir Village.
