Abstract

Increased awareness of mental health has highlighted the importance of treating mental disorders, including schizophrenia, as a relevant public health problem. The public's view or stigma towards people with mental disorders is that mental disorders still often occur in society. The problems and needs of ODGJ are the cause of family burden. For this reason, this research aims to identify the problems and needs of family members who care for people with mental disorders (ODGJ) in Grobogan Regency. The aim of this research is to identify the problems and needs faced by family members who care for people with mental disorders (ODGJ) in Grobogan Regency. This research is a quantitative descriptive research conducted at Dr. R Soedjati Sumodiharjo Regional Hospital, Grobogan Regency. The sample consisted of 97 respondents who had families with schizophrenia, selected using a sequence sampling technique based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The instrument used was a standard family burden questionnaire by Wanda K, Mohr, and data analysis was carried out using univariate tests. The results of statistical data analysis show that the majority of respondents experience problems and needs that are in the moderate category. Therefore, treatment and support for families caring for family members with mental disorders needs to pay careful attention to these various factors and adopt a holistic approach to ensure that needs are met. they are well catered for. The conclusion of this study is that families caring for members with mental disorders need better support and interventions, which can be tailored to the context and individual characteristics. A holistic understanding of the characteristics of respondents is key in providing effective support for families who care for family members with ODGJ.

Abstract

Intradialytic hypertension is an often overlooked complication during hemodialysis, yet it possesses the potential to increase morbidity and mortality among CKD patients undergoing routine hemodialysis, indirectly impacting their quality of life. This study aims to analyze the occurrence of intradialytic hypertension and its impact on the quality of life of hemodialysis patients. Employing a Case-Control design, the research subjects consisted of patients with intradialytic hypertension as the case group and those without intradialytic hypertension as the control group. The study population comprised CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis at DR M. Djamil Padang Hospital. The sampling technique employed was convenience sampling, with a total sample size of 44 individuals, evenly divided into two groups of 22 patients each (hypertension and non-hypertension). Data analysis included both univariate and bivariate analyses. The questionnaire utilized was KDQOL-SF version 1.3. Bivariate analysis results indicated a difference in the quality of life of hemodialysis patients between those with and without intradialytic hypertension (IHD). Activation of educational initiatives and the utilization of educational media, such as audio-video materials and leaflets provided by various Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), are recommended to enhance the quality of life of hemodialysis patients.

Abstract

Data from the Ministry of Health states that 23% of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) experience drug withdrawal. Self-management refers to managing disease needs, activating social support, and living with a chronic disease. Self-management has also been shown to control patients' adherence to medication so that it can increase CD4 counts in PLWHA and improve some clinical symptoms. Specific therapy for HIV cases has not been found to cure HIV infection, but HIV self-management can slow down or prevent the occurrence of more severe conditions. Based on this, self-management is very important for HIV/AIDS patients. This study aims to determine interventions that can improve self-management in HIV/AIDS patients. Methods: Literature sources were obtained through searches using the Scopus, Science Direct, Google Scholar, and PubMed databases with the last 5 years of research (2018-2023). The keywords used in the search were intervention, self-management, and HIV/AIDS. The search equation was applied without limitation, taking into account the title, abstract, interventions, and methods used. Articles that had been obtained were then analyzed for differences and duplication. A chart for visual representation of how the search and selection of articles was made PRISMA-SR flow diagram. Data extraction was done by creating tables. Results: interventions used to improve self-management in HIV/AIDS patients include self-management applications, spiritual counseling, and prayer therapy. Conclusion: The interventions used were proven to improve self-management in HIV/AIDS patients.

The use of the internet has increased since the Covid-19 pandemic provides both benefits and risks for students. Excessive internet use can have an impact on an individual's emotions. Objectives: This study aimed to identify the association between emotional regulation and internet addiction in nursing students. Method: the quantitative correlational design was used in this study. About 279 nursing students were obtained using the purposive sampling technique. Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (cronbach α for the suppression category 0.707 and 0.761 the reappraisal category) and Internet Addiction Test questionnaire (cronbach α 0.895)was used in study. The data were analyzed by univariate and Spearman rank-order bivariate analysis. Results: The nursing students tended to use cognitive appraisal (95.3%) and expressive suppression (87.1%) as a strategy of emotional regulation. The level of internet addiction of the students was mild (40.1%), moderate (29%) and severe (2.5%). There is no relationship between emotion regulation and internet addiction of nursing students (cognitive appraisal p=0.882; expressive suppression p=0.617). Even though the students were in mild internet addiction, they could regulate their emotion well. Conclusions Emotion regulation is not the only thing that can cause internet addiction. The ability to early recognize the symptoms of internet addiction is needed to prevent the condition becoming severe.

Abstract

Prematurely born babies often face a range of complex issues such as body temperature instability, cardiovascular problems, fluctuations in blood pressure and heart rate, and respiratory disorders. Improper positioning exacerbates these challenges by compromising their underdeveloped homeostatic mechanisms, leading to physiological instability. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the impact of the quarter-prone position on the hemodynamic status and sleep duration of premature infants. Methods: A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental research design with a pre-post control group. The study was conducted at one of urban hospitals in Indonesia over a one-month period from February to July 2023. Thirty-two participants were divided into intervention and control groups. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis Independent T-Test. Results: There are no statistically significant differences among the control and intervention groups (p-value > 0.005). that there is significant statistical difference among two group at post-test at all variables (p-value : 0.00) Discussion The quarter-prone position, in conjunction with environmental factors like noise and lighting, influences the respiratory rate, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and sleep duration of premature infants. Nurses are encouraged to implement the quarter-prone position in caring for premature babies to enhance nursing quality and improve their overall quality of life. This approach is supported by its potential impact on the growth and developmental outcomes of premature infants in the long term.
