Abstract

Malnutrition is a serious health problem with a high prevalence in Indonesia and must be addressed immediately. Mother's knowledge of complementary foods can affect the nutritional intake of toddlers. This indirectly affects the nutritional status of toddlers. Lack of maternal knowledge about complementary food will cause toddlers to be less nutritionally inappropriate. This study aims to determine the influence of counseling with android application media on the knowledge of toddler mothers about complementary food. This type of research is Reseach and Development (RnD) research with 6 stages that have been carried out by researchers. The sample for the limited-scale test of this study was the mothers of Ujunggede Village toddlers totaling 16 mothers of toddlers in accordance with the criteria of inclusion and exclusion. Normality test results obtained normally distributed data so that for data analysis using paired sample t test. The results of the analysis showed a p value of 0.001 < 0.05. The results of this study show that counseling with the IBBAL MPASI application can increase the knowledge of toddler mothers about complementary food.

Abstract

Semarang has reduced the stunting rate by 8,6% in 2021. The district with the highest prevalence in Semarang City is Central Semarang with a stunting rate of 7,25%. Efforts to reduce the prevalence of stunting need to be carried out further to reuduce the stunting prevalence in Semarang. Lack of milk consumption is one of the factors that causes stunting. This study used a case-control design by examining nutritional status height/age (stunting) as the dependent variable, amounts, and frequency of milk consumption as independent variables, as well as mother's knowledge, father's education, mother's education, father's occupation, mother's occupation, family income, history Exclusive breastfeeding, and infectious diseases as confounding variables. The research subjects were 24 mothers of stunted toddlers and 24 mothers of toddlers who were not stunted. Bivariate data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square or Fisher test as an alternative. The bivariate analysis results were selected to be continued in multivariate analysis using the logistic regression test. After controlling for confounding variables, the most dominant variable with the incidence of stunting is milk consumption, with an OR value of 12,5. Toddlers with milk consumption ≤38 g/day will have a 12,5 times higher risk of experiencing stunting.

Abstract

Stunting is a nutritional problem that occurs in Indonesia. Stunting is a condition of physical growth failure caused by chronic nutritional problems that occur for a long time. This study aimed to determine the relationship between energy and protein intake with the incidence of stunting. This study used a cross-sectional study design with a sample of 41 toddlers. The results obtained were analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test and multiple linear regression tests. There is a positive and significant relationship between energy intake and the incidence of stunting, as shown by the correlation coefficient of 0,72 (p-value = 0,00); in other words, the better the nutritional status (not stunting). There is a positive and significant relationship between protein intake and stunting as indicated by a correlation coefficient of 0,79 (p value = 0,00), in other words, the better the nutritional status (not stunting). Based on the results of multiple linear regression tests, a coefficient of determination of R Square = 0,79 was obtained, which means that the variables of energy intake and protein intake affect the incidence of stunting by 79%.

Abstract

A person with hypertension has a rise in blood pressure above the healthy range of <120/<80. The amount of sodium that the body retains can impact blood prduction. Via the sympathetic nervous system's activation, which causes blood pressure to rise intermittently, stress causes hypertension. A sufficient amount of regular exercise significantly lowers blood pressure in hypertensive individuals. Elderly people frequently experience health issues. Many of these illnesses are non-communicable diseases like high blood pressure. The Province of Lampung has a 31,9% prevalence of hypertension. According to data on hypertension in the Tanggamus district, 120,276 persons have the condition. The research objective was to determine the correlation between sodium consumption patterns, stress levels, and physical activity with hypertension in prolanis participants at the Rantau Tijang Public Health Center, Tanggamus Regency in 2022. This study used quantitative research using a cross-sectional research design. The population in this study were 63 people using the total sampling technique. Bivariate analysis in this study uses the Gamma test. The results showed a significant correlation between the level of stress and physical activity and hypertension with a p-value of 0,001 and 0,003 and no significant correlation between sodium consumption and hypertension with a p-value of 0,746.

Abstract

Toddlers aged 3-5 years are at an ideal period in the development process, especially in gross motor development. Gross motor skills are toddlers' ability to move by involving body structures and functions. The gross motor skills of toddlers can be influenced by several factors, namely maternal characteristics and nutritional status. The features of mothers involved in gross motor include knowledge, education, employment, and mother's care. It is also a factor in the nutritional status of children, so it will indirectly be connected to the child's motor. This study used a cross-sectional design with purposive sampling techniques; the study sample comprised 37 respondents from toddlers and their mothers. The research was conducted at the Children's Poly, Kartika Pulomas Hospital, East Jakarta. The data measured were toddlers' nutritional and gross motor status using the DDST screening format. The characteristics of respondents in the normal gross motor category were 16 toddlers (43.2%), while toddlers with suspected gross motor were 21 toddlers (56.8%). The bivariate analysis results showed that knowledge, maternal parenting, and nutritional status had a significant relationship with gross motor with a p-value of < 0.05. Age, education, and occupation had no association with gross motor with p-value > 0.05.

Abstract

This study analyzed the relationship between macronutrient intake, hydration status, physical activity, and the physical fitness level of Pencak silat athletes in Banjarbaru. This analytical observational study used a cross-sectional design involving 30 pencak silat athletes selected using a total sampling technique. The research instruments included questionnaires, 24-hour food recall forms, a self-urine examination (PURI), a physical activity questionnaire, and a 12-minute running test. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. The results of this study indicated that most athletes had protein, fat, and carbohydrate deficiencies, moderate hydration status, and very light physical activity levels. It can be concluded that macronutrient intake, namely protein (p=0.264), fat (p=0.643), carbohydrates (p=0.101), and hydration status (p=0.264), had no association with the physical fitness levels of pencak silat athletes, while physical activity (p =0.010) had an association with the physical fitness level of Pencak silat athletes. Athletes are recommended to continue to pay attention to macronutrient intake and hydration status as needed because they also play an essential role in fitness apart from physical activity.
