Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the availability and adequacy of the active protection system in the Palembang Aviation Polytechnic area. The Active Protection System is limited to fire alarm systems and detectors. The type of research used is qualitative analysis with an observational approach to analyze fire alarms and detection systems as active protection at the Palembang Aviation Polytechnic. Data collection is carried out by observation and interview. Furthermore, a gap analysis method is carried out to compare the availability of fire alarm and detection systems installed in each building, compared to the expected conditions by applicable regulations, so that gaps can be known from the fire protection system in the building in question. The next step is to decide on the availability and adequacy of the building's fire alarm and detection system and provide recommendations that the manager of the Palembang Aviation Polytechnic may carry out. The results of the application of the fire alarm analysis in the main building are 0% with the inappropriate category, and the average in the study program building is 96.57% with a good category. The implementation of the detection system in the main building is 0% with the inappropriate category (no fire alarm and detection system installed), and the average in the study program building is 97.5% with a good category. Suggestions according to the priority scale are that managers make policies on establishing, maintaining, inspecting, and evaluating active fire protection systems regularly.

Abstract

The propeller blade is a component that is the main source of thrust on the ATR 72 aircraft. Based on data from the Aircraft Flight Maintenance Log (AFML) for the period 2019 – 2021 ATR 72 aircraft, the propeller blade component was damaged causing the need for unscheduled removal which had impact losses to airlines such as delays and aircraft-on-ground (AOG). This study aims to find the root causes of damage to the propeller blade components. Analysis was carried out using the Root-Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) method using fault tree analysis (FTA) and fishbone diagrams as tools so that factors related to propeller blade damage will be found. The results of analysis using fault tree analysis (FTA) and fishbone found that the root cause of damage to the propeller blade was in the area of ​​the heating element (de-icer) as the top event, while the propeller blade operation, propeller blade maintenance and the ATR 72 aircraft operating environment were the intermediate events

Abstract

Bookkeeping of activities is very important for guard cadets, for documentation and reporting of cadet activities under the Makassar Aviation Polytechnic Cadets Character Development Center. The bookkeeping of these cadet activities is still managed conventionally, all data and information related to these activities is obtained and collected manually and by the guard cadets who are in charge of recording these activities. The goal to be achieved in this research is to make the log book of the cadet guard service from manual reports to digital reports at the Makassar Aviation Polytechnic. This type of research is Design Science Research (DSR) which aims to create new products and test them using the Black Box method by inputting valid and invalid data in order to determine deficiencies in the E-Log Book of the Makassar Aviation Polytechnic Cadres Watch Service. The test results on the Taruna Jaga E-Log Book show that inputting valid data into the cadet, class, study program, user, and picket data forms are all successful, while inputting data is invalid (random) on the cadet data form, study program, the user manages to process data which are not suitable except for the picket form which fails because it can save data.

Abstract

Technological developments, especially in the field of education, are becoming a special concern in various countries in the world. The Covid-19 crisis, which brought the face-to-face education system to a halt and required learning to be carried out online, had many negative impacts on cadets. Practices that should be able to help understanding cannot be realized because they are online, so an effective method is needed as a substitute for cadet practice at the Makassar Aviation Polytechnic. Products designed by researchers can show the effectiveness of virtual 3D augmented reality and audiovisuals have been seen from the learning outcomes of cadets, and the responses of cadets after using the application. Making learning applications based on virtual 3D augmented reality and audio-visual 2000 kVA generators are expected to be a solution for distance learning practices. Where 3D images can be seen more clearly from various sides making it easier for cadets to imagine. Coupled with audiovisuals that provide interesting explanations when the 3D design is used. In addition, learning applications also make it easier for cadets to be able to learn anytime and anywhere in a more structured manner.

Abstract

Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) is a surveillance technology using positional information from broadcast satellites continuously. The problem that is also faced at Indonesian airports is the limited surveillance equipment available at each airport, especially ADS-B equipment, where the average branch and unit airports in Indonesia do not yet have ADS-B equipment. So the formulation of the problem that the author raises from this research is how to design a Receiver Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) tool using FlightAware ProStick Plus and Raspberry Pi. Tool design consists of tool design and how the tool works then include hardware and software components used for aircraft detection. The results of this study indicate that the ADS-B Receiver is made to detect aircraft in real-time in the coverage area of ​​the ADS-B Receiver and the results obtained from running the ADS-B Receiver are in the form of display maps that can show where the aircraft is located to the ADS-B Receiver.

Abstract

Politeknik Penerbangan Makassar is a government academy under the Ministry of Transportation Indonesia with the principal task of implementing professional flight safety and engineering education programs. The objectives of this research were to: (1) describe the implementation of Team Teaching as a teaching method in plain language learning for air traffic controllers of Poltek Penerbangan Makassar students. (2) know whether or not the third-year students of Poltek Penerbangan Makassar are increasing their speaking skills. This research applied a quantitative method. The population of this research was year students of Poltek Penerbangan Makassar. There were two classes with 48 students, and the researcher divided into two groups, one class was the experimental group, and one more class was the control group. Each group consisted of 24 students. The data were collected using an observation checklist, a speaking duration table, and a questionnaire. This research proved that the team teaching method was adequate for plain language learning and increased the speaking skill of third-year cadets in Diploma III Air Traffic Control. Based on the average score in the pre-test and post-test that have been compared between the experimental group and control group. The score of the experimental group, which used the team teaching method in the treatment, showed 1,53% increase in score

Abstract

The use of the Circling Approach is to increase awareness and familiarity with the controller so that it can reduce risk, increase safety and make it easier for the controller to accelerate and maintain the regular flow of air traffic. So there needs to be an effort and real steps to improve quality, professionalism, productivity, and work ethic. high level of existing human resources. The research objective in this on the job training report is the pattern circling approach runway 17 to 35 in order to create maximum service for air transportation service users both in terms of safety and efficiency. the method used by the author in this study is a kualitatif method and descriptive method. Researchers describe events and events at the Sultan Iskandar Muda international airport with a circling approach using runway 35. Based on the research that the author has carried out, making a pattern circling approach on runway 17 to runway 35 has a predetermined altitude and speed procedure as a requirement based on the rules in DOC 8168 PANS-OPS is one of the best ways to solve this problem, so that if there are aircraft those experiencing factors that cause a missed approach do not need to re-approach on runway 17, the controller can immediately advise the pilot to do a circling approach so that the aircraft movement becomes more efficient and lands on runway 35.

Abstract

This study aims to see how much the influence of Safety Risk Management Implementation has on air traffic services at the Approach Control Unit of Perum LPPNPI Denpasar Branch by using quantitative methods. The sample in this study were all ATC personnel at the Approach Control Unit of Perum LPPNPI Denpasar Branch. Data is collected using a questionnaire, which is then processed through validity, reliability, normality, linearity, and associative hypothesis testing with correlation, significance, determination, and simple linear regression tests. The results showed that there was a strong influence, with a correlation of 0.719 and a coefficient of determination of 51.8%, and the rest was influenced by other factors. With the linear regression equation Y = 20.405 + 0.683X + e, if Safety Risk Management (X) increases by one unit, then Air Traffic Services (Y) will increase by 0.683 units.

Abstract

When carrying out the Operational test by turning on the strobe light, it is found that the Rear Strobe Light section is not lit. This light that we usually see is flashing white when the plane is in the air. Spotlights are flashing lights that are visible to the ground. Strobe Light is working as an onboard activity activity to be seen by Air Traffic Control (ATC). Strobe Light has a switch to push the lights in the Cockpit on the Overhead Panel. When maintenance was carried out on the ATR 72-500 aircraft, a problem was found, namely Troubleshooting Strobe Light not Flashing ATR 72-500, so the solution was carried out based on the Trouble Shooting Manual (TSM).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang entry point di Bandar Udara Internasional El Tari. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Research and Development dengan populasi penelitian adalah praktisi air traffic controller di Perum LPPNPI Cabang Kupang, ahli pendidikan bidang air traffic controller serta designer PANS OPS, dengan jumlah sampel keseluruhan sebanyak 8 responden yang dipilih berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling sebagaimana yang dijelaskan dalam buku penelitian karangan Dr. Sugiyono (2018). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah menggunakan studi literatur, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Sedangkan teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model Miles and Huberman berupa reduksi data, penyajian data, verifikasi, dan menggunakan bahan referensi. Belum adanya entry point dapat membuat keambiguan pilot mengenai jalur terbang helikopter. Karena area pendaratan yang tersedia hanya runway maka circuit yang digunakan oleh helikopter dan VFR fixed-wing sama, sehingga dapat berpotensi terganggunya pergerakan di circuit sehingga dibutuhkan rancangan entry point helikopter di Perum LPPNPI Cabang Kupang, Penulis membuat rancangan ini dengan berlandaskan pada aturan yang berlaku menggunakan media aplikasi AutoCAD 2015, Global Mapper, dan Google Earth Pro. Rancangan ini telah divalidasi sehingga layak untuk diterapkan
