Abstract

Secretarial management in village organizations is an important part of the sustainability of its operations because the management of activities and documentation containing information functions as a set of assets for the organization. Thus, a systematic approach to secretarial management facilitates the process of searching and retrieving documents when needed. However, several village organizations, such as Ikatan Pemuda Pemudi Banjarsari (IPPB), still manage documents manually, which can increase the risk of losing documents due to irregular storage. Referring to this problem, is the basis for the need for community service activities in the IPPB organization to implement a more modern and organized document management system through the Android-based E-Archive application. The activity methodology is based on organizational participation and empowerment, with the main priority being the needs of the community or organization. The implementation of PKM began with participants installing E-Archive on their respective devices, followed by demonstration assistance, and Q&A. The results of this service went smoothly, with this activity attended by representatives of organizational advisors and IPPB core administrators. Assistance focused on installing the application has been successfully carried out on each device, and its management has been carried out successfully according to its features. The facilities provided by multi-user E-Archive allow use according to each role in the IPPB organization. The presence of E-Archive technology solutions with IPPB secretarial management is more efficient because it can be easily accessed via smartphone and provides better storage space compared to manual document storage methods.

Abstract

Mastery of office applications is an important skill for learning park facilitators and managing administration effectively. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and administrative skills of learning park facilitators in Karanganyar through training in Office applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoin. Learning Park is one of the non-formal educational facilities for early childhood and school-age children under the auspices of the Yayasan Rumah Sekolah Indonesia. This educational facility can function as a supplement to or replacement for the widely available formal education. The early childhood education institution, Learning Park, falls into the category of community-based self-help initiatives, which has been operating for about one year and has five facilitators, with the number of students increasing each academic year. Therefore, teachers must enhance the facilitators' knowledge, including administration, financial reporting, and creating engaging teaching processes. The steps of implementing this service training are: first, developing training materials and test questions; second, conducting a pre-test and the training itself; and finally, concluding with an evaluation process through a questionnaire. The results of the service training on office application usage showed an improvement in facilitators' knowledge, with an average score increase of 22% from the pre-test results.

Abstract

Hydroponic entrepreneurs are one of the business sectors affected by extreme climate change in Indonesia. The main problem caused by extreme climate change is the uncertain seeding time. Buyers such as restaurants need a supply of fresh vegetables at a specific time. Uncertain seeding due to extreme weather makes farmers unable to supply fresh vegetables at the specified time. The community service that has been carried out aims to apply artificial lighting technology to speed up the 2-5 day seeding process by vegetable farmers. The community service carried out uses an empowerment method to utilize artificial lighting technology during the seeding process. Before using this technology, farmers needed 10-15 days depending on the sunlight conditions during that period. Based on the activities that have been carried out, artificial lighting technology can provide a consistent seeding time of 8-10 days. The results of the community service show that there has been an increase in empowerment among farmers in Berkoh village.

Abstract

The recent phenomenon is that on every inch of empty sidewalk, in front of shops, in front of schools, and on the side of the road there must be sellers of sweet drinks, especially jumbo tea. Excessive sweet drinks can increase the risk of diseases caused by excess sugar such as diabetes and obesity. The purpose of this community service activity (PkM) is to increase the knowledge of Teguhan Village health cadres regarding the dangers of obesity, diabetes, and the benefits of stevia. The community service methods used include counseling about the dangers of diabetes, obesity, stevia plant cultivation, and joint practice in planting and processing stevia plants until ready for consumption. This PKM activity resulted in an increase in knowledge among cadres by 63%. The percentage of knowledge before being given counseling regarding obesity, diabetes, and stevia was only an average of 28% and after the PKM activity ended, the average knowledge of cadres increased to 91%. These results are expected to reduce the use of cane sugar switch to stevia sugar and spread their knowledge to the surrounding community so that more people know about the benefits of stevia plants.

Abstract

The results of the dredged sludge deposits due to sedimentation of the Jenderal Besar Soedirman reservoir are quite large and have the potential to be utilized. The problem that arises is that the sedimentation results are not immediately removed, it will disrupt several sectors, especially the power generation sector (PLTA). From this problem, an alternative emerged to utilize the dredged sludge deposits due to sedimentation into bricks that have economic value. The utilization of sludge deposits into bricks aims to reduce excessive sedimentation in the JB Soedirman sludge reservoir. If the sludge deposits are utilized properly, one of which is as a material for making Interlock bricks, it will create economic value for the community, especially in Banjarnegara, Purbalingga dan Banyumas Regency, there are many business sectors engaged in making bricks. The method used in this community service is observation and demonstration, the first is to conduct further observation studies on the nature of the dredged sludge deposits by conducting laboratory tests, from the results of the tests, information and education are provided to the business community on how to utilize sludge deposits into bricks with the right composition and high quality. It is expected that with this Community Service activity, it can overcome the problems that arise and improve the economy of brick entrepreneurs around the reservoir without having to mine or buy raw materials for production. Brick entrepreneurs are very enthusiastic about unbaked interlocking bricks, by making innovations in the brick business.

Abstract

The majority of the population of Banjarwaru Village are farmers. The price of fertilizer is getting higher from time to time while farmers need fertilizer for their plants. Problems arise when fertilizer shortages often occur. In addition, the type of fertilizer used is generally a type of chemical fertilizer that is not good for the human body because the substance can be carried into the food consumed. Organic fertilizer is one option to overcome this problem. This type of fertilizer is now starting to be widely available on the market, although the price is relatively expensive. The solution to this problem is that it can be done by making organic fertilizer independently. Another factor is that there is a lot of organic waste that can be processed into liquid organic fertilizer (POC). Therefore, to create a village that is independent in fertilizer, the PKM Team aims to create an organic fertilizer maker based on a PLTS electricity source and provide training in operating the tool. The method used is by making an organic liquid fertilizer maker, socializing it to residents of Banjarwaru Village, and training and demonstrating how to operate the tool.

Abstract

The community in Margoluwih Village is currently developing pineapple cultivation. While pineapple marketing is still limited to fresh form when the harvest season comes, pineapple production will be abundant so that prices can fall. Therefore, there needs to be a follow-up to overcome this by making other derivative products such as pineapple jam and syrup. The Community Partnership Empowerment Program (PKM), has provided a positive perception to partners regarding the diversification of pineapple processing into products with economic value, and as a solution to overcome the peak harvest in addition to increasing competitiveness and capturing market opportunities. The products offered from pineapple processing received a good response from partners, namely through pineapple syrup and jam processing. The PKM program was carried out through several stages starting from preliminary surveys, socialization, counseling, and training. The PKM method used during the activity was Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). This technique involves the active role of all partners in the activity. The PKM program succeeded in increasing the knowledge, skills, and abilities of partners in processing pineapple into products with economic value as a whole by 97%. In addition, PKM activities have had positive impacts on partners, especially in utilizing free time for productive activities that can generate income and economic resources for families.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance participants' English language proficiency through an online IELTS training program using Web IELTS Online Test (IOT) tools and YouTube recordings. The program addressed the need for accessible and flexible learning options for students and faculty members seeking to pursue higher education abroad. Delivered via Zoom for 12 sessions and supported by the Web IELTS Online Test platform, the training provided personalized resources, tracked participants' progress, and included recorded sessions on a private YouTube channel for self-paced review. The Service Learning (SL) method was employed, engaging participants in a cycle of planning, implementation, and reflection to tailor the process to their needs. The program involved 10 participants, consisting of Grade 3 students from MAN IC Pekalongan and faculty members from UIN. Pre-test results highlighted gaps in the four IELTS skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking, which were targeted throughout the program. Post-test results showed an average improvement of 1.0 band in listening, 0.5 in reading, 0.5 in writing, and 0.5 in speaking. Although only 40% achieved their target scores, 80% experienced an increase in their overall score, and 20% showed specific skill improvements. These results suggest that integrating digital tools in online training enhances language learning outcomes and supports participants in overcoming learning challenges. This program has implications for broader adoption in similar contexts, emphasizing the role of accessible online learning environments in academic readiness.
