Abstract

This paper discusses the socialization and training of wellness tourism for the Gombengsari Tourism Awareness Group. The Gombengsari Tourism Awareness Group has management and marketing problems in managing tourism. This is due to a lack of knowledge in mapping and managing tourism concepts. Therefore, socialization and training were carried out to improve the management and marketing of tourist destinations. The socialization and training include the application of wellness tourism spot technology, mentoring, evaluation, and program sustainability. The results of the socialization and training show that mapping has been carried out on wellness tourism spots and flying fox spots. Tourism destination marketing is carried out once every two weeks in managing financial management and partner businesses. Website-based promotion and inter-regional tourism destination marketing training are also conducted. Website-based tourism destination promotion has increased tourist visitors by ±50-75% in one month.

Abstract

Abstract: The high number of cases of Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) is linked to several causes, such as low-income levels and unstable employment (poverty), which result in families' inability to meet the nutritional needs of pregnant women. Low education levels affect the thinking and understanding of pregnant women regarding the importance of nutrition during pregnancy, as well as the limited access to quality healthcare services, including antenatal care facilities, which can lead to delays in the early detection and treatment of CED. This condition needs immediate intervention to anticipate the long-term impacts that can result in risks for both the mother and the newborn who do not receive adequate nutrition. To address this issue, it is necessary to implement a Stunting Prevention Movement program, which includes the provision of supplementary feeding (PMT), education on stunting and balanced nutrition, assistance with entrepreneurship training, and business simulations with a relevant theme.

Abstract

Sports injuries are a major obstacle for the development of youth football players. Limited knowledge of parents in initial injury management can worsen the athlete’s condition and delay recovery. This community service program aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of parents, coaches, and young players of the Putra Balung Jaya Football School in Jember regarding sports injury management. The activities consisted of three phases: preparation, implementation, and evaluation, using lectures, interactive discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on practice of the RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) technique. Evaluation results showed a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge and skills, with an average post-test score increasing by 38% compared to the pre-test, and 75% of participants successfully performing injury management techniques. This program is expected to be implemented sustainably as a preventive and promotive measure in youth football development.

Abstract

Several statements regarding the low condition of teachers' skills in writing scientific papers, such as research conducted by Melasarianti, Yulianti, and Marahayu (2023) found several obstacles to the implementation of the independent curriculum, namely teachers rarely conduct scientific research to innovate learning, whether in methods, techniques, media, models, materials, or even stimuli in learning. Observations and interviews with the Principal of State Junior High School 9 Purwokerto Drs. Herry Nuryanto Widodo and several other teachers revealed that the awareness of teachers at State Junior High School 9 Purwokerto in writing scientific papers is still low. Their knowledge of classroom action research (CAR) is also not optimal. Based on the situation that occurs in junior high school teachers in the Banyumas Regency area, especially at State Junior High School 9 Purwokerto, this community service activity was carried out. The implementation method in this activity is expected to be able to improve the scientific writing skills of State Junior High School 9 Purwokerto teachers based on Classroom Action Research (CAR). The results of this activity include: 1) increasing knowledge and information regarding writing scientific papers, 2) increasing knowledge regarding the use of Mendeley and AI as support for writing scientific papers, and 3) increasing knowledge regarding several accredited journals.

Abstract

This community service (PKM) activity aims to increase awareness and practice of physical fitness among the Karang Taruna (Youth Organization) in Sepanjang Jaya Village, Bekasi City, through innovative mentoring and socialization of the importance of sports and a child-friendly environment. The identified problems were the lack of knowledge and motivation of Karang Taruna in maintaining fitness, as well as a minimal understanding of the importance of creating child-friendly public spaces. Physical fitness mentoring was carried out using an electric vertical jump tool, a simple but effective innovation for objectively measuring leg muscle explosive power. Then, a Child-Friendly socialization was held to raise awareness that Karang Taruna has a vital role in creating a safe environment. The PKM implementation method uses a socialization, monitoring, and evaluation approach where Karang Taruna members are actively involved in each session. Based on the evaluation results, this PkM activity has had a very positive impact. In terms of physical fitness, there has been a significant increase in the Sepanjang Jaya Village community, with an average "good" category reaching 70%. In addition, community understanding regarding the implementation of child-friendly values has also increased rapidly, with the achievement result being "very good" in the category of 82.5%.
