Abstract

The Batagak Pangulu ritual (the prince's inauguration) is one type of Minangkabau traditional ceremonial tradition. This traditional celebration comprises customary rituals that are quite expensive. The costs could reach 100 million rupiahs or even more, depending on the size of the event that the clan members put on. utilizing a qualitative approach to data collection for this study. Sources of information include traditional leaders and Minang people who have undergone modification by researchers. The study's findings indicate that the Pangulu Batagak ceremony may be held and that the headman and clan members will cooperate to reduce the high costs. It is difficult to perform the Batagak Pangulu rite without cooperation (gotong royong). The killing and preparation of buffalo to be fed at the prince's inauguration is another example of this kind of reciprocal collaboration. Similar to how preparation takes place, mutual cooperationis evident when clan members work together to clean up the area and prepare the adat hall. The study concludes that the Batagak Panglu tradition must be preserved as an ancestral culture because doing so can help the Minang people maintain their ability to collaborate or work together in all of their endeavors.

Abstract

Information and communication technology (ICT) is strongly tied to learning in the digital age, thus teachers and students must be able to use digital tools in all learning processes. It is evident that information technology significantly contributes to pupils' increased creativity in both large cities and rural towns. To fulfil all educational goals in general and school goals in particular, ICT application for increasing learning needs to be planned and evaluated according to the needs of students, teachers, and the school itself. According to the problem's issue, a literature review was used to collect data for this study. The study's findings indicate that planning is done to make the most of the ICT-based learning process. Planning starts by examining the requirements and circumstances of the school, including all of its strengths and weaknesses, and then evaluation is done to determine the ICT's dependability and strengths and weaknesses. For ICT to be used in the learning process, there must be a reliable internet connection. If there are issues with the learning process, the root reason may be quickly determined, and the primary solution is sought right away. According to the study's findings, ICT-based learning management can significantly enhance students' ability to learn to contemporary needs and the Merdeka curriculum.

Abstract

The Oleg Tamulilingan dance is a traditional Balinese dance with the theme of romance, which depicts the romance of male and female beetles, danced in pairs by a male and female dancer. Researchers have extensively discussed the popularity of the Oleg Tamulilingan Dance. But, no one has disclosed the Badung Style in Oleg Tamulilingan Dance has remained the primadonna of the Bali tourism industry. The question is: what is the structure of the Badung version of the Oleg Tamulilingan dance?; What is the origin of the Badung-style Oleg Tamulilingan dance?. This research was conducted using qualitative methods. The data sources for this study were: Oleg Tamulilingan with Badung Style Dance, dancers, musicians, dance teachers, artists, humanists, experts, and related communities who were selected based on purposive sampling and snowball techniques. All data that has been collected through observation, interviews, and literature studies was analyzed qualitatively. The results of the research show that the Badung Style in Oleg Tamulilingan Dance is performed in the form of a loose dance depicting a male and female beetle making out in a flower garden. This can be seen from the way it is presented, the makeup and clothing, as well as the musical accompaniment used. The structures used in the Oleg Tamulilingan with Badung Style performance are pepeson, pengawak, and pengecet. The emergence of the Badung Style in Oleg Tamulilingan dance was caused by internal and external factors. The internal factor of the Oleg Tamulilingan Dance is the talent of the first dancer, Gusti Ketut Raka Astuti, who teaches his students. The external factor is the development of tourism, which provides an opportunity for the development of the Badung Style in Oleg Tamulilingan Dance and has implications for the enrichment of the presentation model of the Oleg Tamulilingan Dance.

Abstract

The purpose of creating the experimental piece of music "Dreadlocks Hair" is to prove that the Rebab can be used as the main instrument in gending. The experimental musical work "Hairlocks Dreadlocks" was created using a creation theory based on local wisdom (Rai S., 2021), which focuses on talent as the principal capital and identity of the work. The process of creating this new musical work uses a creation theory based on local wisdom by developing elements of: (1) talent as the main capital, (2) creativity ability, (3) understanding of local wisdom, (4) concept of work, (5) as a prayer offerings, and (6) visualizing the form of the work. The process of creating this piece of Dreadlocks music is based on the Rebab, namely the "Electric Rebab" instrument. The new innovation in this experimental piece of music lies in the protrusion of the resulting Rebab sound register. The novelty of this experimental piece of music is that the Rebab is able to produce 3 (three) sound colors namely low, medium and high simultaneously in one instrument. The problem: What does Dreadlocks mean in a new piece of music?; What does Dreadlocks mean in a new piece of music? The development of the Rebab instrument which is actualized as the dominant instrument in the experimental musical work "Dreadlocks" is not necessarily interpreted literally, but is interpreted as extramusical or the personification of the creator who views the Rebab instrument as different. The word "hair", in this case, is interpreted as sound-forming elements similar to strings or strings and fine strings on a bowstring. Meanwhile, the creator uses the word "Dreadlocks" as a metaphor to describe the harmonious musical texture, voice register (high, medium, low) and rhythmic patterns contained in this work. Experimental musical piece “Dreadlocks”. contains the meaning of dismantling the established standard, development, preservation, and glorification with a moral message to preserve local wisdom using beraya, dreadlocks aesthetic as a metaphor.

Abstract

Pashtun culture is a rich and diverse culture that has been shaped by centuries of history and tradition. Often referred to as Pashtunwali, this culture encompasses every aspect of daily life, from social norms and customs to religious practices and cuisine. As an ethnic group, the Pashtun people are primarily located in Afghanistan and Pakistan. They are known for their proud and distinctive culture that emphasizes loyalty, hospitality, and respect for the Pashtun code of conduct. A central aspect of Pashtun is the Pashtunwali, which is the traditional code of conduct of the Pashtun people. Derived from the Pashto language, this code emphasizes concepts like courage, honor, and hospitality, and serves as a guide for how Pashtuns should conduct their lives. Hospitality is one of the most valued traits in Pashtun culture, and guests are treated with the utmost respect and care. This tradition dates back to the times of the ancient Silk Road, when traveling merchants of all backgrounds would stop at the Pashtuns' homes and receive food, shelter, and care. Music and dance are also cherished in Pashtun culture, with traditional instruments like the rubab (a lute-like instrument) and tabla (a percussion instrument) used to create melodic and rhythmic pieces. The attan, a traditional dance, is common at weddings, religious festivals, and other celebrations. The Pashtuns are a primarily Muslim community, and religion is deeply ingrained in their culture. Islamic practices like praying five times a day, fasting during Ramadan, and giving to charity are all important parts of life for Pashtuns. However, Pashtunwali also places a strong emphasis on tolerance and respect for other religions, and there is a long history of coexistence between different faiths in the region.

Abstract

The paper investigates the links between political campaigning and post-truth. The research argues that there are five main factors that make a successful post-truth political campaign. The first is marinating a goal of achieving a practical outcome. The second is the success to control public agenda. The third is providing a different definition of truth. fourth factor is the use of claims based on emotional beliefs. And the fifth is the success to trigger a response from the opposing party. Based on this theoretical approach, the research examines information published in the Israeli election campaign of April 2019 by the leading Likud party and its leader, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, against their main rivals – Blue and White party and its leader, Benny Gantz - former Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff. The issue examined is the post-truth campaign involving the cell phone hacking of Gantz. The examination looks at the campaign according to the main factors that make a successful post-truth political campaign, as described earlier. It aims to examine the way that these factors were implemented by the Likud campaign – and conclude if using these factors was properly done in this post-truth campaign.
