The fact that Indonesian students’ reticent in speaking English is still found until today. Its phenomena commonly happens in English as a foreign language class. This pattern is related to students’ desires to speak up called Willingness to Communicate (WTC). Willingness to communicate concepts arise in individual’s L1 and L2. However, the present study explored some issues that emerge as a chance for foreign language learners to communicate. In particular, the study investigated an extent in which Indonesian EFL learners are eager to communicate in English. In addition, the study focuses on the correlation between willingness to communicate and language learning anxiety, language learning motivation. and situational influence. Furthermore, the study sees the correlation between willingness to communicate and gendre. The literature review focused on Maclyntre’s Heuristic model on willingness to communicate concepts. Then, It is linked to learning motivation and learning anxiety concepts in EFL class. The study involved a quantitative approach through employing 126 undergraduate students in Tangerang Selatan during the research phase of this project to generate survey data through questionnaires. Questionnaires that support the learner's willingness to communicate espoused from proposed. From the data analysis, it was found that there is correleation between anxiety, motivation and WTC in university students of Tangerang Selatan. However, the impact is low. There are other aspects influencing WTC that should be taken into consideration for further investigation. From the findings, it can be implied that eventhough learning anxiety appears on students learning, students motivation helps them to contend with their impartiality and proficiencies.

This kind of study was a qualitative content analysis. The purpose of this study was to examine errors that happened during students' written interactions on the Whatsapp application. The data were acquired using purposeful sampling since the researcher identified EFL university students who actively communicated via WhatsApp in written English. The researcher used documentation to collect data for this investigation. To ensure the validity of the data, the researcher took a screenshot of the student's writing that was typed in the Whatsapp group, and interviewed five respondents via Whatsapp voice calls that were recorded using a voice recorder on a smartphone, then transcribed and assessed qualitatively. The researcher collected data in a methodical manner and carried out several data analysis operations like collecting the errors, classifying them, providing and evaluation and explaining the errors and the factors. The researcher concluded from the research findings that both the source language (L1) and the target language (L2) have an effect on students' interlanguage writing output. The study discovered that the native language had an effect on literal translation by utilizing Indonesian grammatical patterns, Indonesian acronyms, omitting plural marker-s, and omitting BE. Meanwhile, the target language's effect was detected by the insertion of auxiliary verbs and the generalization of the past tense –ed.

This research focuses on the use of audio-visual media (video) to improve the students' listening skill for the seventh-grade students of SMP PGRI Curug in the academic year of 2019/2020. Aim of this study is to find out whether the use of audio-visual media (video) can improve the students‟ listening skill and how far the improvement in students listening skill by using audio-visual media (video). The method of this research is action research. The technique of data analysis is qualitative research. Each cycle comprises planning, acting, observation, and reflecting. The researcher stated that there is an improvement of students‟ listening skill using audio-visual media (video). It can be seen from the number of students who pass the passing grade (KKM) in cycle I and cycle II. The passing grade is 70. The result of a listening test in a pre- cycle without using video got an average score of 64,80 or 33 % of students to get a good score or the passing grade (KKM). In the cycle, I, the result of the listening test using video, got an average score of 71,07. or 66 % of students get a good score or the passing grade (KKM). The students were easier to listen to. Although they still found it difficult to focus while watching a video. The result of the listening test got better in cycle II. The students were more understanding in doing their activity using video. In this cycle, they got an average score of 76,93 or 100 % of students to get a good score or the passing grade (KKM).

English educators in all levels of education in Indonesia nowadays strive through to make their college students master in speaking and writing English. One of the ways to succeed the students are by asking them use English or Indonesian-English code-mixing in their classroom include in online learning class. This study aims at finding out the types of Indonesian-English code mixing in online learning class. A descriptive qualitative method was used to perform this study. The data for this study employed the students’ chats in Google Meet and Whatsapp as platforms of online class. The subjects were English Education Department students of Universitas Pembinaan Masyarakat Indonesia in three online class. The instrument utilized was documentation. This study was conducted entirely online. Therefore, the data were collected by screenshots of the chat then were categorized as code mixing and the types of code mixing. Content analysis was applied for analyzing the data. The findings indicates that most of students used code mixing with types of word insertion with 52.4 % continued by phrase insertion. The lowest percentage was types of idiom insertion with 2.5%. Hence, the lecturer know what should be improved for the students. It is necessary to get used to the students to use English idiom in order to improve their language skill.

research has many problems to teach in elementary school in the first grade in order the teacher prepares the subject before teaching and prepare physic and mental. The methodology applied in this research is qualitative, to analyse the problems of the study in a specific way by approaching the subject of the problems in a natural way. For these reasons, the qualitative approach is applied in this research is to explore the teaching English vocabulary and brainstorming technique. The research exploration is expected to present the real picture in a detailed view of the obstacles in students’ vocabulary mastery gathered from teaching English vocabulary and brainstorming technique in the research findings.In this research the researcher discusses about teaching vocabulary by using brainstorming technique to manage the students becomes a good students. An another teacher gave suggestion to use brainstorming technique, It can help a teacher and the students to learn vocabularies in the same role. So, the technique for teaching vocabularies is use brainstorming, because the technique can help the students to learn and memorize vocabulary easy and can help the teacher to explain easily.The objective of this research is to know the effectiveness of teaching English Vocabulary through Brainstorming Technique. The objectives of this study are to describe the process of translation of political advertisements from Alas language into Indonesian, to describe the problems of translating political advertisements from Alas language into Indonesian and to describe how the language style of Alas language in political advertisement persuaded the voters. The qualitative research was applied. The data were collected by using camera and text in the banners or pamphlets were rewritten on paper. There are seven data of political advertisement that used Alas language in election of year 2019. The writer translated the political advertisement from Alas language into Indonesian by using Newmark procedure. The data were analyzed by using Larson’s Steps in a Translation Project that consists of: establishing the project, revised draft, consultation and final draft by attached the picture of the political advertisement in Alas language. The findings are: first, translation political advertisement from Alas language into Indonesian deliberated morphology, cultural equivalent, and descriptive equivalent. Second, it used intimate style. Third, there are some similarities word in Alas language and Indonesian. Fourth, language style in political advertisement in Alas language used proverb and euphemism. As a result, translation political advertisement from Alas language into Indonesian concern to cultural equivalent that the problems in translating political advertisement from Alas language into Indonesian related to the culture that covered explicit and implicit meaning and language style of political advertisement of Alas language used intimate style through proverb and euphemism.

Implicature is one of pragmatics branches which has an interesting subject to learn. It is also known by conversational implicature. This study identifies two types of conversational implicature and the implicit meanings in The Wendy Williams Show. The data were identified and analyzed from the guest’s and the host’s utterances in the Wendy Williams Show. The collected data were identified and analyzed by the writers using Grice (1975) theory. This study used qualitative method as a research method. The writers took 23 episodes, and in each episode, there were 1 up to 4 utterances contained implicit meanings. As a result of the study, it was found that there are 29 particularized conversational implicature and 21 generalized conversational implicature from 50 utterances were taken from The Wendy Williams Show. From the analysis it can be concluded that every utterance has different context in delivering messages which contains the implied meaning.

This study aims at finding out the students' learning motivation in online learning using Google Classroom during the Covid-19 pandemic at SMP Muhammadiyah 29 Sawangan. This study applies the descriptive qualitative research method. There were 36 students in eighth-grade D students at SMP Muhammadiyah 29 Sawangan- Depok who participated in this research. The data were collected through a questionnaire, interviews, and observation. The result of the questionnaire is the students are motivated because some of them are very enthusiastic about learning English during a pandemic covid-19. In the interview, the teacher always gives motivation for students to learn English, and some of the students consider using google classroom helpful for the teaching-learning process in this era. In the observed teaching-learning process, the students actively learn English using Google Classroom, and the teacher always gives the materials for students learning English in the forum, and always explain materials. In this study, the students are motivated to always learn English by using Google Classroom because the students know their responsibilities as students always learn, and students also always motivate themselves to be enthusiastic about learning because for their future. For further study are expected to continue to develop research on student learning motivation because research on student learning motivation aims to find out what makes students motivated to study hard.

In the utterances of Wernicke's aphasia sufferers, there are deixis inaccuracy or errors that can make the interlocutor unable to understand the meaning of Wernicke's aphasia sufferers. Existing research on deixis is still limited to ordinary people's speech, so in-depth research is needed on deixis in the utterance of Wernicke's aphasia sufferers, especially on deixis errors. Therefore, this study aims to identify the types and analyze the meaning of deixis errors expressed by Wernicke's aphasia sufferers. The deixis errors were identified from the utterances produced by four Wernicke's aphasia sufferers on YouTube channels. Data retrieval is in the form of choosing a few words that are only included in the expression of the use of deictic errors identified according to Levinson (1983). After that, the utterances containing deixis errors were interpreted from the context and the typology of the inaccuracy. The finding shows three out of five types of deixis errors made by Wernicke's aphasia sufferers. The most dominant type of deixis errors found is personal deixis. The results of this study can be helpful for further research to examine deixis errors in the speech of Wernicke's aphasia sufferers across different severity, language choice, age, gender and others. In addition, those who have interaction with Wernicke aphasia are supposed to provide easy-to-understand questions to avoid more occurrences of deixis inaccuracy.

From reading activities to media consumption, studies about incidental vocabulary acquisition have progressed through the “germination and molding stages and have emerged to a comprehensive development stage” (Tang, 2020). Given that one of the established productive instructional tools that can help in expanding a learner’s language skill is watching subtitled foreign films (Kabooha, 2016), the researchers investigated the relationship between binge-watching Korean Drama Series and the incidental vocabulary acquisition of tertiary level learners in the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. The researchers used a non-experimental correlational approach to measure the degree of relationship that exists between the two variables. The results show that the respondents are considered 'moderately knowledgeable' on the specific Korean words and phrases on the survey questionnaire based on the weighted mean response of their Korean Vocabulary Depth. Hence, there is a significant relationship between binge-watching habits of the respondents and their Basic Korean Vocabulary Knowledge Depth. The researchers also concluded that as the binge-watching habits increase, the Basic Korean Vocabulary Knowledge Depth also increases.
