Indonesian Psychological Research aims at a broad area of questions from theoretical and methodological domains of psychology, as well as applications of psychology to everyday life. We propose to publish original articles, reviews, actualities, preliminary methodological notes etc. Our goal is to provide psychologists and authors from related science fields the platform for the public presentation of their research findings, opinions or impressions about recent literature, and for another to offer the opportunity to acquaint the professional community with these findings and views. Indonesian Psychological Research is a journal that contains articles from both quantitative and qualitative research related to the field of Psychology which emphasises the novelty and originality of studies, including the areas of Islamic Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, and other related fields.

Abstract

Overseas students are often faced with various changes that require them to be able to adjust to a new environment. However, there are still many overseas students who have difficulty adjusting themselves. One of the factors that influence self-adjustment is emotional maturity and religiosity. This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional maturity and religiosity with adjustment in overseas students. This research was conducted on overseas students aged 18 to 25 years and were overseas students who lived in dormitories in Kalimantan, Nusa Tenggara and Bali. The sample of this study was 108 overseas students who were taken using cluster random sampling technique. The data were collected using a self-adjustment scale, the emotional maturity scale, and the religiosity scale. The statistical analysis technique used is multiple regression techniques. The results of the analysis showed that there was a relationship between emotional maturity and religiosity with self-adjustment in migrant students with a significance value of 0.000 (P <0.05). This means that the higher the emotional maturity and individual religiosity, the higher the adjustment. Emotional maturity and religiosity together contribute effectively to self-adjustment of 47.4%. Emotional maturity contribute effectively to self-adjustment of 45.1%, while religiosity made an effective contribution to self-adjustment of 2.3%.

Abstract

Bystander plays an important role in the recurrence of bullying episodes, so that they needs to be empowered in order to prevent bullying. bullying prevention need to be culturally sensitive. The values of Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, Sipakainge appear to be in line with anti-bullying value. This study is a preliminary studies that aimed to find whether those cultural values could encourage the bystander to be actively involved and how to apply them in the social relationships. Therefore, the study used a qualitative method with a semi-structured interview on four bullying defenders. The result showed that the values of Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, Sipakainge arose in religious values that socialized within family. Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, Sipakainge were not only recognized as cultural values but also appeared as strategies to intervene bullying. These findings can be suggested to promote the religious and cultural-based association value as a prevention of school bullying. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hubungan antara self confidence dan self awareness terhadap variabel komunikasi efektif, aspek tersebut menjadi hal yang sangat dibutuhkan bagi SDM di era industri saat ini. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 100 Mahasiswa Psikologi UINSA yang masih aktif dalam tahun ajaran 2020-2021. Analisa data yang digunakan menggunakan Regresi Linier Berganda. Hubungan self confidence dan self awareness dan komunikasi efektif adalah sangat signifikan, terlihat dari nilai F sebesar 17,268 dengan nilai p adalah 0,000 (< 0,05). Variabel self confidence dan self awareness masing-masing memiliki nilai koefisien korelasi 0,393 dan 0,453 terhadap variabel Komunikasi. Hasil uji hipotesis didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa self confidence dan self awareness berhubungan positif terhadap variabel komunikasi efektif dan berdasarkan nilai korelasi dapat dikatakan bahwa self awareness lebih berpengaruh terhadap komunikasi efektif. R Square sebesar 0,263 menunjukkan self confidence dan self awareness secara simultan memberikan kontribusi dalam mempengaruhi komunikasi efektif sebesar 26,3%, sedangkan sisanya 73,7% dipengaruhi oleh variabel atau faktor lain.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-concept dan family support dengan academic burnout pada siswa MI Darussalam di masa pandemic secara parsial dan simultan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif korelasional. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa-MI Darussalam. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 72 siswa kelas dari 266 siswa MI Darussalam dengan teknik probability sampling. Dari populasi tersebu ditetapkan sebanyak 72 siswa dari kelas 4,5,6. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa self-concept secara signifikan berhubungan negative dengan academic burnout. Kedua, Family support secara signifikan berhubungan negative dengan academic burnout. Ketiga, self-concept dan family support secara signifikan berhubungan negative dengan academic burnout.

Abstract

Tingkat pengangguran di Sumatra Barat mengalami peningkatan dari tahun sebelumnya khususnya pada lulusan sarjana (BPS, 2020). Kurangnya kesiapan kerja yang dipengaruhi oleh keterampilan sosial ditenggarai sebagai penyebab munculnya kondisi ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis peran keterampilan sosial terhadap kesiapan kerja lulusan program sarjana di Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Metode kuantitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linear. Populasi penelitian ini 327.150 orang lulusan sarjana yang belum bekerja. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 401 orang lulusan program sarjana yang belum bekerja hingga tahun 2020 dengan teknik penarikan sampel purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa keterampilan sosial memiliki peran yang signifikan terhadap kesiapan kerja. Aspek keterampilan dasar berinteraksi terbukti merupakan aspek dari keterampilan sosial yang memiliki peran paling besar dibandingkan dengan tiga aspek lainnya. Pembekalan terhadap calon sarjana dibutuhkan selanjutnya untuk membekali mereka dengan keterampilan sosial yang berfokus pada pengembangan keterampilan dasar berinteraksi agar mereka lebih siap memasuki dunia kerja.

Abstract

Kematangan karier merupakan kesiapan individu dalam menentukan karier yang tepat di masa mendatang sesuai dengan pengetahuan yang diperlukan untuk membuat pilihan karier yang realistis. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui peranan atau pengaruh faktor kepribadian dan dukungan sosial terhadap kematangan karier siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis kausalitas. Responden penelitian ini sebanyak 205 partisipan (perempuan 164 orang dan laki-laki 41orang; dengan rentang usia 17-19 tahun mean = 17 sd = 0.54). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner big five personality (BFI, Pervin, & John, 1999), dukungan sosial (social provisions scale, Cutrona, C. E., Russell, D. W. 1987), dan kematangan karier (CMI-Form C, Savickas 2011). Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa dukungan sosial berkontribusi secara signifikan terhadap kematangan karir baik secara simultan atau terpisah. Adapun dalam hal factor kepribadian, meski secara Bersama-sama factor kepribadian dan dukungan sosial berpengaruh terhadap kematangan karir, namun bila ditelisik lebih jauh diperoleh hasil bahwa faktor kepribadian concientiounesslah yang memiliki peran signifikan terhadap kematangan karir, Adapun faktor-faktor kepribadian lainnya tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan.

Abstract

The personality of a worker or employee is one of the important things to know. However, the development of personality measurement tools made directly in Indonesia is still relatively small. This study aims to develop and identify the psychometric properties of the MKDP Day's Instrument as a personality measurement tool in the context of the workforce in South Kalimantan. The research subjects were 1,123 people between the age of 20-30 years. MKDP Day's Instrument was made by researchers consisting of motivation, cooperation, discipline, and leadership dimensions by taking into account the personality theory of Needs from Murray and Papi Kostick from Kostick. The reliability test used a composite score with a stratified alpha coefficient. The validity test used was confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The result of the reliability test is 0.832. The four dimensions of the instrument were able to explain 22% of the variables. It found 19 factors that can be formed on the instrument. There are 21 valid items from the initial 60 items with an uneven distribution between the dimensions. Further instrument development is needed to produce better psychometric properties.

Abstract

Covid-19 pandemic impacts many changes in daily life, either in health, social, economic, and psychological context. People will be most likely to change the way they live their life every day, including in eating and working. This research aims to describe empirically how was the eating pattern and eating behavior on adults who work from home (WFH) during Covid-19 pandemic. Instruments used in this research were The Eating Pattern Questionnaire and The Eating Behavior Questionnaire, adapted from The Adult Eating Behavior Questionnaire (He, Jinbo, et.al., 2019). Total of 338 respondents (age mean = 35,13 years old; 69.8% female) from various professional backgrounds across Indonesia had completed the questionnaires. Results based on descriptive statistical analysis implied most of respondents had experience changes in eating pattern while WFH, such as: more food consumption, increased snack time, less consumption of fruit and vegetables, and less physical exercise. Changes in eating behavior, namely: 1) enjoy meal time more; 2) more excited to try new variants of food; 3) feel more uncomfortable for delayed meal-time; 4) get hungry more easily; and 5) think more about food when not busy. This research sets the foundation for regulation or intervention strategy in healthy eating behavior as a notable indicator for either nutritional and mental health status.

Abstract

Lepra atau kusta adalah penyakit infeksi yang kronis yang dampaknya adalah kecacatan dan keterbatasan. Dengan kondisi tersebut memunculkan berbagai masalah pada diri penderita secara psikologis, penderita akan mendaptkan diskriminasi dan stigma dari masyrakat, namun penderita tetap merasa berbesar hati dan menerima keadaan diri sebagai manusia dihadapan Tuhan adalah sama. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran psychological well-being pada penderita Kusta di Sumber Glagah Mojokerto. Subjek penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 3 informan penderita kusta, informan yang digunakan sebagai subjek dalam penelitian ditentukan berdasarkan karakteristik yang ditetapkan oleh peneliti. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah pedoman observasi dan pedoman wawancara. Dimensi yang diteliti meliputi penerimaan diri, hubungan posotif dengan orang lain, kemandirian, penguasaan lingkungan, tujuan hidup dan pertumbuhan personal. Data yang didapatkan selanjutnya dianalisis melewati beberapa tahap reduksi, penyajian data dan dilanjutkan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa diawal terjadinya secara klinis dari penyakit kusta ini adalah terlihat pada kulit penderita kusta diantaranya makula berwarna keputihan, rambut alis rontok, kelumpuhan pada kulit muka, terjadi penebalan dikulit muka dan hidup seperti pelana. Masalah yang muncul lainnya adalah setelah subjek didiagnosa kusta maka akan mengalami penurunan kepercayaan diri, merasa malu, kehilangan harapan, dan memiliki harga diri rendah. Diungkap juga semua subjek sebagai anteseden menurunnya kesejahteraan psikologi mereka. Sedangkan peningkatan kesejahteraan psikologis yang menarik di sini adalah terungkap bahwa dimensi penerimaan diri sebagai dimensi pertama yang membantu subjek dalam mencapai dimensi – dimensi kesejahteraan psikologi yang lainnya, yaitu huhungan positif dengan orang lain, kemadirian, penguasaan lingkungan, tujuan hidup dan pertumbuhan personal. Keenam dimensi ini muncul secara tidak bersama – sama, tetapi temuanya sesuai dengan gambaran dimensi.

Abstract

Happiness at work is a positive emotion in a journey to grow and develop so that individuals can maximize performance at work and reach their potential. Happiness at work is a mindset that allows individuals to maximize their potential. This study aims to understand how happiness at work portrays for employees who work in the field of human resources development (HRD). HRD plays an important role in supporting the company's agenda so it is important for the HRD division to manage all human resources in the company so that it runs effectively and efficiently. Three participants in this study were recruited purposively were interviewed using a semi-structured interview. Four quality criteria are used as a form of research credibility. Transcripts were analyzed qualitatively using the interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA), IPA explores in detail the processes that participants go through to understand their own experiences. Data analysis raises five superordinate themes: (1) employee assessment of the company, (2) satisfaction with the company and the environment, (3) dedication or a sense of company ownership, (4) difficulties faced, (5) resilience. The findings of this study indicate that each participant has difficulties and challenges faced, but how can participants continue to carry out activities despite the difficulties and challenges they face so that individuals can develop by overcoming negative emotions and giving their best ability to help themselves when facing difficulties and challenges.
