Abstract

This study examines the effect of variables on gender, employment status, school level, teacher tenure, school climate, and teacher professional attitudes. Data were obtained from a sample of 138 border region teachers, who were asked to fill out the questionnaire provided and analyzed using the stepwise multiple regression method. The results show that the professional commitment of teachers in border areas is still relatively low. This low professional commitment is significantly influenced by the school climate, the professional attitude of the teacher, and the level of the school where the teacher teaches. The level of the school where the teacher teaches has a significant direct effect on both the school climate and the attitude of the teacher to his profession. The professional commitment of teachers in elementary schools is actually higher than the professional commitment of middle school and high school/vocational school teachers. The results of this study recommend that the development of teachers in border areas, apart from focusing on professional development, also needs to be directed at increasing their professional commitment through continuous coaching by both school supervisors and local governments in accordance with their respective authorities.

Human resource development aims to increase their abilities so that they can be used in the industrial world and help them do their jobs through the education process. Human resource development is a systematic and planned activity aimed at developing employees to improve the skills and competencies needed according to work demands, both now and in the future. The lack of human resources will result in an increase in the number of unemployed in Indonesia, because one of the factors for the increase in unemployment is caused by a decrease in the quality of human resources, making it difficult to get a job due to a lack of expertise in work needs. In facing the world of work and industry, the government provides answers related to current problems with the Link and match policy. This link and match policy creates graduates with expertise and skills in working in accordance with industry standards and the world of work and this policy can be applied to non-formal education such as courses and training institutions or other similar units.

Abstract

Stocks are one of the popular investment instruments among investors. Investors widely choose this stock investment instrument because it can provide attractive returns higher than other investment instruments. However, stocks in addition to providing high returns, have high risks as well. This study aims to determine the effect of ROA and DER on the volatility of stock prices of companies in Indonesia that are members of the ESG-based DAHAM index. This quantitative research uses ROA and DER variables on stock price volatility. The application of research objects is carried out in public companies in Indonesia that are incorporated into ESG-based indices. This study’s results state that ROA does not affect price volatility. And the inclusion of companies in ESG-based indices indicate that companies have good ESG scores but does not necessarily increase the company's ROA. DER significantly negatively influences share price volatility in companies incorporated into ESG-based stock indices. And ROA and DER simultaneously affect stock price volatility, but only explain 12.9% of stock price volatility.
