Abstract

This study describes cultural exploration that is used as a source of learning, this is related to how to introduce culture which can be done through art learning in formal activities and informal activities. Through the exploration of traditional culture, in this case the art of dance, efforts to preserve, introduce, inherit, and develop traditional arts become part of strengthening attitudes in understanding norms, values in society. "Tortor" as one of the traditional arts of the Batak tribe becomes one of the subjects of learning in formal activities and becomes a must-have competency, also in informal activities. In the learning process, knowledge is not only given in text (dance form), but the context of the dance is a part that must be introduced as local content. This is done as a strengthening of the knowledge of graduates as prospective teachers, who function as motivators, facilitators, and how to present them in class so that PBM can be successful. However, in the learning process there are still many obstacles, especially the lack of learning resources related to the cultural context of the community, as a basis for understanding in learning traditional dance. Especially with technological advances that require lecturers to be more creative in the process of transferring knowledge. Based on this, the aim of this research is to focus on exploring Batak culture in relation to the preservation of traditional arts as a learning resource. The research was conducted by observation, interview, and recording.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the Make A Match cooperative learning model in counseling models courses to increase student participation and learning outcomes. This type of research is classroom action research (classroom action research) spiral model of Kemmis & McTaggart. The research subjects were 20 students of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program, FIP Unimed, Academic Year 2020. The data collection instruments used were participation observation sheets and learning outcomes tests. The data analysis technique is descriptive-qualitative. The results of this study indicate that at the first meeting of the first cycle, the average percentage of participation sub-indicators was 76.54%, and increased at the second meeting of the first cycle to 77.69%. Furthermore, at the first meeting of the second cycle, it increased to 83.46% and increased again at the second meeting of the second cycle to 86.15%. The average sub-indicator of student participation in the first cycle reached 77.12% and increased in the second cycle to 84.18%. The increase in the average sub-indicator of cycle I to cycle II was 8.46 %. Followed by an increase in student learning outcomes seen from the increase in the percentage of student learning outcomes that achieve completeness, namely the results of the pre-test, no student achieves complete learning. Furthermore, student learning outcomes in the first cycle of 70.75 and in the second cycle of 84.50. The increase between cycles I and II was 13.75. In the first cycle, the number of students who have achieved completeness is 45%. In the second cycle increased by 100%. It can be concluded that the application of the make a match cooperative learning model can increase student participation and learning outcomes. This means that the hypothesis is accepted.

Abstract

This research is prompted by the students’ low literacy skills in inclusive education in Indonesia, especially in North Sumatra. The current government has given more attention to the implementation of inclusive education through Law Number 8 of 2016 in Article 5 paragraph 3f concerning the persons with disabilities, and Regulation of the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 70 of 2009 concerning the inclusive education for students who have abnormalities and have potential intelligence and/or special talent. The purpose of this study is to explain the process of developing the augmented reality book of folktales of North Sumatra. The method used in this research is ADDIE (Analysis-Design-Develop-Implement Evaluate) model. One of the functions of ADDIE is as a guide in building training program tools and infrastructure that is effective, dynamic and supports the performance of the training itself. This model uses 5 development stages, they are analysis, design, development, implementation evaluation. This article describes the stages of preliminary study, planning, product development, and product review. The results showed that the steps taken in designing an augmented reality application included: markers on books, reading markers on books, detecting markers, displaying 3D objects and playing sound, and continuing to display 3D objects and sound explanations. Moreover, the architectural design of augmented reality applications includes AR applications.

Abstract

Siti Nurbaya's theatrical work: Bayang di Balik Tiang is an achievement of the transfer process from Marah Roesli's novel Siti Nurbaya. The creation of this theater uses transfer theory and dramatic vision as the basis for analysis. As for staging, the theory used is Stanislavski's acting theory and Bertolt Brecht's multiple sets by utilizing the essential elements of randai. The creation methods used include: production of dramatic visions, script writing, acting training, preparation of spectacles and the realization of the unity of the show. The result of this creation process is the presence of a mamak character in Siti Nurbaya's theatrical work: Bayang di Balik Tiang by utilizing the narrator's character as the embodiment of the V-effect.

Abstract

The revitalization of the Gendang Binge was carried out due to the loss of the main function of the Gendang Binge in traditional Karo Langkat arts due to the dominant influence of the keyboard in various traditional ceremonies in the Karo Langkat community. The drums of Binge are made of old jackfruit wood which is dried first so that the sound of the drums does not change after the skin is attached. The Binge drum is divided into 2 types, namely the Indung drum and the children's drum. Gendang Binge indung is 19 cm long, with a top cover of 12.5 cm and a bottom cover of 6.5 cm, while the drum for children is 19 cm long, with a top cover of 10 cm and a bottom cover of 8 cm. The material used for the membrane or skin for the Binge drum is napuh skin (a type of endemic animal rabbit) in the Karo highlands, while to tie the skin to the wood used cowhide and for sticks using kaffir lime wood. Some of the techniques in playing Gendang Binge include: Tang and Tih are used to produce the sound of the Gendang Binge ovary, while for Tang and Cek to produce the sound character of the children of Gendang Binge. To produce Tang in the ovary of the Gendang Binge, the large stick must be struck on the edge of the drum, while for Tih the large stick is struck right in the middle of the membrane of the Gendang Binge. To produce a Tang sound from the child's Gendang Binge, the stick is hit on the edge of the lips and must hit the membrane, while to produce a Check sound, the drum stick is hit and pressed at the same time in the middle of the membrane.
