Abstract

In retaining customers, PT. Bank Sumut applies the strategy of Relationship Marketing owned by each transaction. This can result in the higher trust of customers in the bank. The implication to this condition is that Bank needs to harmonize the competency, technology, and resources owned with the needs and wants of the customers. With the application of Relationship Marketing, PT. Bank Sumut can retain its customers (Customer Retention). Relationship Marketing is all of the marketing activities directed to build, develop and retain a successful relational exchange. The data for this descriptive quantitative survey study were obtained through distributing questionnaires to 85 respondents. The data obtained were analyzed through path analysis by using the SPSS program. This paper showed that harmony, acceptance, and participation simplicity simultaneously had a positive and significant influence on Customer Retention. Partially, harmony, acceptance, and participation simplicity have each had a positive and significant influence on Customer Retention. Harmony, acceptance, and participation simplicity simultaneously had a positive and significant influence on the trust of customers. Partially, harmony and acceptance had a positive and significant influence on the trust of customers while participant simplicity did not have a positive and significant influence on the trust of customers. The trust of customers had a positive and significant influence on Customer Retention. Respectively, harmony, acceptance, and participation simplicity indirectly had a positive influence on Customer Retention through the trust of customers at PT. Bank Sumut Lubuk Pakam Branch.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of planning, organizing, staffing, leading, controlling on operational leadership at the Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi Medan, as well as testing the effect of planning, organizing, staffing, leading, controlling simultaneously and partially on operational leadership and the variables involved. The dominant influence on operational leadership at the University of Development Panca Budi Medan. The method used is multiple regression analysis (Multiple Regression) through the stages of testing the classical assumption data instrument test and hypothesis testing. Instrument data is measured through a questionnaire distributed to respondents. The results showed that the five variables simultaneously and partially had a significant effect on operational leadership at the Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi Medan. The most dominant variable is planning compared to leading, controlling, organizing, staffing variables.

Abstract

This research was a descriptive research which was aimed at finding out the similarities, dissimilarities and the contributions of the contrastive analysis on teaching English as a foreign language. The data of this research were collected through library and internet sources. The researchers use comparative descriptive method to analyse the data. The obtained results was the comparison of American and British English in vocabulary, grammar, spelling, pronunciation and the contributions of them in teaching English as a foreign language. The research finding shows that British and American English are very similar in many aspects. Even though British and American English are mostly similar, they also have some differences. The difference of British and American English can be found in terms of vocabulary, grammar, spelling and pronunciation. Among them, vocabulary is the largest one. It is suggested that lecturers and teachers aware of the similarities and differences between British and American English in teaching English as a foreign language so that it will lead to the successful teaching of English including its varieties.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of regulation with information systems as a moderating variable on asset management in the East Aceh District Government. The research was carried out on employees of the goods section of the East Aceh District Government Offices. Data collection was carried out through primary data, namely by distributing questionnaires to each respondent. Determination of the sample used in this study is the census method with a total sample of 44 people. Based on the MRA (Moderated Regression Analysis) test results, the multiple linear regression equation model is obtained as follows: Y = 1.322 + 0.702 Regulation + 0.222SI + 0.002 Regulation * SI, namely Regulation with Information Systems as moderating has a positive effect on asset management with a value a coefficient of 0.002.

Abstract

Utilization of a technology indispensable information on SMEs because they develop information technology will be more complete and would affect ongoing business developments. At this time, not a few developments and development of information system technology have failed, this is because it is not following the goals and needs of these business people. One technique that can be used to build/develop information system technology is the existence of Enterprise Architecture Planning, where this technique is a technique used to approach data quality planning by looking at the needs of the SME business in Enterprise Architecture Planning will be explained about applications, data architecture, technology and a roadmap for the implementation plan of the architecture. SMEs cannot be separated from the need that can define business needs and even information architecture so that the direction of business development policy strategies can be well planned. Information technology architecture modeling in SMEs, including application definition, data architecture, technology, and implementation plan mapping. The process when defining information technology architecture is reviewed and refers to processes that are common in the business of implementing E-Marketplace applications, especially in SMEs. The results of the research will produce a mapping of implementation plans that can be used as a reference in the development of an application to support the business functions of SMEs.

Abstract

National development is the government's effort in realizing the welfare of the people and the state, starting from increasing the standard of living of the community to improving the system for implementing state activities. National development is expected to be evenly distributed throughout the country, both centralized development and development in regions whose power is controlled by the regional government. Phenomenon In the Medan City area, motor vehicle tax is one type of regional tax collected by the Regional Revenue Service of the Province of North Sumatra through the Samsat Joint Office as one of the potential sources of tax revenue, where the Samsat Joint Office has an advantage in the number of vehicle taxpayers who continues to increase every year. From this phenomenon, should there be an increase in the ownership of motorized vehicles with a BK number (tax object) in the area of Medan City, it will have a positive impact on any increase in the amount of motor vehicle tax revenue at the Samsat Joint Office. But in fact, overall motor vehicle tax revenue at the Samsat Joint Office has not been fully realized easily, from the description above, researchers are interested in formulating the problem How to implement the 2018 motor vehicle tax bleaching program in the Regional Revenue Management Technical Implementation Unit (UPT PPD) Medan South and What are the obstacles to motor vehicle tax collection in 2018 in the Regional Revenue Management Technical Implementation Unit (UPT PPD) in South Medan. This type of research used in this study is a qualitative researcher.

Abstract

Tebing Tinggi was originally an area under the control of the Padang Kingdom. This area had been inhabited since 1864, exactly a year after Jacobus Nienhuys started a tobacco planting business in Deli. As the development of plantation business carried out by Europeans, Tebing Tinggi also experienced changes. In its journey, Tebing Tinggi turned into an area surrounded by plantations. The existence of these plantations makes Tebing Tinggi in the future a role as the center of government for Onderafdeeling Padang and Begadei. What is behind the formation of Onderafdeeling Padang and Bedagei? How was the administration under colonial rule? What is the role of Tebing Tinggi as the center of Onderafdeeling Padang and Bedagei? These questions will be discussed in this paper. This paper uses archival sources and books published during the Dutch colonial administration. This paper aims to describe the history of Onderafdeeling Padang and Bedagei government.

Abstract

This study Purpose to analyze the Effect of Institutional Ownership, Profitability, Sales Growth and Leverage on Tax Avoidance in Construction Subsector Companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2017 – 2019, this study amounted to 16 Construction Subsector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. by using the type of associative analysis research with panel data design that is a combination of time series data and cross-sectional data. The type of data used is panel data (pooled data), panel data regression analysis with Fixed Effect Model (FEM) estimation method and reviews 9 SV program. Hypothesis testing carried out is the Coefficient of Determination Test (R Square), F-Test, and t-Test. The results showed that the institutional ownership variable had a negative and positive effect on tax avoidance, the Profitability variable had a positive and positive effect on tax avoidance. The sales growth variable had a positive and positive effect on tax avoidance. Leverage has a negative and positive effect on tax avoidance.

Abstract

Customary ritual of rambu solo’ in Toraja is based on noble values of culture that influences life pattern of Toraja people. Current development has changed the way of life and thinking of Toraja people to customary ceremony. Basic understanding is needed in interpreting the ceremonies. This paper discusses the meaning of ritual text myth that is represented by buffalo meeting. Participant observation methods used with field notes, recording, and interview techniques completed the data collection. The data were analyzed interpretatively by semiotic approach. The ritual text of the buffalo meeting ceremony in rambu solo’ ceremony is a symbolic form, parallelism, and metaphor which also constructs the meaning of customary ritual myth. Through the ritual remarks on the seven types of buffalo in the ceremony of rambu solo’ indicating views, concepts, and motivations are used as guidelines for life for Toraja people. The result of the research shows that, (1) the customary ritual text of buffalo meeting is symbolic, parallelism, and metaphor characteristics that represent myth meaning, (2) customary ritual text of buffalo meeting is to construct myth and ideology about Toraja character value. The value of the characters is represented by the seven types of buffalo in the customary ritual ma'tammu tedong namely, (a) balian buffalo represented as a leader figure or role model; (b) bonga buffalo as torch in human life of Toraja; (c) pudu’ buffalo as guardians in maintaining the life of the Toraja; (d) todi’ buffalo as a unifier that strengthens kinship ties; (e) sokko’ buffalo describes a polite and humble person; (f) tekken langi’ buffalo as a safeguard that reconciles the Toraja over the conflict; (g) sambao’ buffalo as customary guardians for customary offenses. Those values indicate the existence of the relation between man and Almighty and man with others. Also, they strengthen the character of human life of the Toraja and nation character.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of organizational culture and organizational commitment on employee performance at the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia. The method used is explanatory research with analysis techniques using statistical analysis with regression testing, correlation, determination and hypothesis testing. The results of this study that organizational culture has a significant effect on employee performance by 38.3%, hypothesis testing is obtained t count > t table or (7.757 > 1.985). Organizational commitment has a significant effect on employee performance by 41.7%, hypothesis testing is obtained t count > t table or (8.335 > 1.985). Organizational culture and organizational commitment simultaneously have a significant effect on employee performance with the regression equation Y = 9.612 + 0.326X1 + 0.442X2. Contribution of influence is 51.7%, hypothesis testing obtained F count> F table or (51.364> 2,700).
