Abstract

This study aims to find educational values in the procession of elopement. The term of elepement refers to an activity consciously carried out by two people (a man and a woman) to make an agreement to become a legal husband and wife. Meanwhile, value education in this context refers to the attributes that characterize the behavior of the activity. Researchers used a qualitative approach with the method of observation and interviews. The observation method was non-participant, while the interview was conducted in depth. The selection of respondents as the object of the interview was carried out in a purposeful manner. The data obtained from the use of the two methods were used as valid data for in-depth analysis to give new findings or new theories. The findings of this study indicated that the elopement activity carried out by male and female couples has become the culture of the local community to lead to a legal husband and wife. This accompaniment activity is only carried out by couples who have a low level of education. In other words, contraband rarely or even does not occur in highly educated (bachelor) couples. Education contributes positively to awareness and prevents these stragglers from acting as shortcuts or imposing their will because the woman's parents do not agree with her daughter's husband-to-be.

Marks and Spencer (M&S) is a leading UK fashion retailer. However, the organisation is struggling to improve its domestic operation and to achieve its international objectives, most notably manifest through its withdrawal from China. Through conducting a critical analysis and an evaluation of the supply networks of M&S, the global apparel industry and the Chinese market, this discussion paper aims to propose a new set of strategies for M&S’s re-entry.  Based on an analytical discussion, the following actionable recommendations are proposed for the company: (1) to seek suitable network partners in China, (2) to build sustainable relationships with relevant partners to build business strategies based on Chinese consumers’ perspectives and behaviour, and (3) to focus on a new value chain to enhance profitability and sustainability in the new market.

Abstract

Medan city is the third largest metropolitan city in Indonesia. Problems that occur in big cities, especially in the city of Medan itself, include the level of congestion and the level of violations of traffic signs which are quite high and the constraints of emergency vehicles on duty such as ambulances, fire engines and other emergency vehicles, especially on traffic lights. This paper described Emergency vehicles that will build a Security System Using Barriers on Zebra Crosses, especially in Microcontroller-Based Traffic Light. This system uses the RFID component RC522 as an emergency vehicle detector photodiode and laser diode as vehicle detection components above the zebra cross so that the barrier does not damage the vehicle. Servo motor as a barrier gate drive and Arduino Uno R3 as a component where each input command is received to be processed. Where if the emergency vehicle is passing through a traffic light with a red light, then the light will turn green. With this system, the emergency vehicle on duty is not late to its destination and the driver cannot break through the road divider when the red light is on and does not disturb pedestrians. feet to cross The application of the system is designed to be connected directly to Arduino so that the input signal can be processed and can produce the expected output on the performance of the system, namely the servo motor, and 6 LEDs on the traffic light 2 intersections.

Abstract

Forest and Land Fires in Riau Province are still happening today, this happens because of many factors ranging from natural factors and human factors. The method used in this study uses qualitative research methods. The results showed that the coordination of the Karhutla task force in controlling forest and land fires in Riau Province in 2020 involved many stakeholders, especially local stakeholders, the implementation of coordination policies in forest fire control was not optimal because the coordination process had a long span of control. Then the author offers a combination model of policy implementation with a dynamic coordination model. Does the Covid-19 pandemic affect the continuity of the MSME Snack business? To see the performance of MSMEs is measured based on the Balance Score Card, however in this study, research is limited to only looking at the financial side (income). This study uses a qualitative method with two informants, namely dodol and snack MSMEs in Garut, West Java and kemplang (baked crackers) MSMEs in Palembang, South Sumatra. As a result, it turns out that the Covid-19 pandemic has not affected snack MSMEs. Turnover (gross income) of MSMEs snacks actually increased during the Covid-19 pandemic. Anticipating the limited human travel during the Covid-19 pandemic, MSME entrepreneurs also sell through online stores and market places. However, the sales turnover is not as big as direct sales in stores. There are still more buyers who come to buy snacks at the shop.
