Abstract

Education plays an important role in forming a quality generation that contributes positively. This research pays attention to work autonomy and innovative work behavior in education. The research aims to understand the role of intrinsic motivation and organizational commitment in the relationship between work autonomy and innovative work behavior in school teachers. This research took a sample of 183 elementary school teachers from various school branches in various cities, namely Tangerang, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, North Jakarta, and East Jakarta. Data was collected through distributing questionnaires and then analyzed using the PLS-SEM quantitative analysis strategy. The research results show that teachers need work autonomy to increase innovative work behavior, both directly and indirectly, through intrinsic motivation. As evidenced through research analysis, this study contributes to the existing literature by showing a mechanism that can occur in the influence of work autonomy on innovative work behavior. Even more, these findings have implications for effective school policy and management.

Abstract

The major problem in this study is students' lack of scientific mentality and collaborative skills when learning Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), which conventional techniques have dominated. Traditional methods involve students less actively in problem-solving and group work, which hinders the ideal development of their scientific attitudes and collaborative skills. This study examines how the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning paradigm based on Tri Hita Karana affects fourth-grade students' scientific attitudes and collaborative skills, both individually and concurrently. This study used a quasi-experimental approach with a posttest-only control group. The research population consisted of all fourth-grade pupils, 105 individuals, with a sample of 70 picked using basic random selection procedures. The PBL learning model based on Tri Hita Karana is the independent variable, whereas the dependent variables are students' scientific attitudes and collaboration skills. Data were acquired by observation and analyzed using Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) statistics. The findings revealed that the Tri Hita Karana-based PBL learning paradigm substantially impacted students' scientific attitudes and collaboration skills when learning IPAS. These findings indicate that implementing Tri Hita Karana-based PBL can effectively improve learning quality and develop elementary school students' attitudes and collaboration skills.

Abstract

The era of globalization and the rapid development of technology have made many children prefer online games over traditional games. This makes it difficult for children to socialize with the surrounding environment and have high individual character; one of the traditional games is gasing (spinning top). This research aims to compare students' responses and characters towards the integration of traditional game gasing and to see the relationship between each variable to be studied. The research method uses mixed-method research. This research used a sample of 56 class IIIA and class IIIB students at SDN 55/I Sridadi, and the sampling technique used was total sampling. The data collection instruments used were questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis uses descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of this research are that there is a significant relationship between variables, and it also produces a positive relationship, namely 0.00 0.05. Meanwhile, the results of the t-test comparison of each response variable, peace-loving character, social care character, and responsibility, have a significant comparison, with sig values of 0.000.05 and 0.020.05 and, respectively, dominant variable in the response variable in the good category. There is a need to develop innovative and educational traditional games to maintain their value and sustainability.

Abstract

Taman Nasional Bromo Tengger Semeru (TNBTS), home to the Tengger Tribe, is being developed by the government to become a major tourist destination as a part of the "10 New Bali" initiative. However, despite its national park status and the government's ambitious initiative, TNBTS faces significant environmental problems like non-protected areas. Therefore, this research aims to examine how local wisdom practices confront environmental challenges and governance issues within TNBTS. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive method, the study relies on secondary data from reports, academic journals, and other relevant publications. The findings reveal that local wisdom significantly contributes to sustainable environmental management, demonstrating resilience and adaptability amidst modern pressures. This research contributes to the scientific understanding of how local wisdom can inform and improve environmental governance, highlighting its crucial role in addressing ecological challenges in the context of globalization. The study concludes that integrating indigenous practices with contemporary governance can enhance environmental sustainability in TNBTS.

Abstract

In the teachings of Islam, reading is considered a command from Allah SWT. Literal reading comprehension means understanding information directly from the written text. This study aims to develop literal reading materials based on Islamic values and Lampung local wisdom. The design is research and development (RD) using Thiagarajan dan Semmel models: define, design, develop, and disseminate (4D). The research participants included a literal reading lecturer and 40 English education study program students. The literal reading materials consist of 9 units and 3 exercises. The study results indicate that Islamic content can provide students with knowledge and understanding of Islamic values and history. Additionally, the materials related to Lampung's local wisdom can enhance students' knowledge and appreciation of local culture. The student's responses to the teaching materials designed were 0% who disagreed, 4,72% less agreed, 42,11% agreed, and 53,17% strongly agreed. The average score is 3.36 and, if converted on a table with a scale of 4, includes in a very good category. Therefore, integrating Islamic values and Lampung local wisdom is worth fostering good manners and preserving local culture.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the lack of ethnolinguistic studies exploring ritual language's role in traditional community character education. The purpose of the study is to analyse the verbal symbolism in ritual language and how the language is used as an informal educational tool. This study used a qualitative approach with ethnolinguistic methods. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with elders and ritual performers, participatory observation, and document study related to the oral tradition of the Dawan community. Data analysis was conducted using thematic and semiotic analysis to identify patterns of ritual language use. The findings show that ritual language in Korolele plays an important role in transmitting cultural values, such as solidarity, respect, and communal responsibility, to the younger generation. Language is a communication tool and a mechanism to internalise moral values and strengthen the community's collective identity. The ritual language in Korolele ceremonies is an effective instrument of culture-based character education, maintaining the continuity of oral traditions amidst modernisation. This study makes an important contribution to the study of ethnolinguistics, culture-based character education, and as a relevant informal education tool in traditional communities.

Abstract

The transformational leadership instrument has been used to analyze academic leadership behavior and to gather data on academics' perceptions of transformational leadership. The instrument development used RnD and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to confirm, analyze, and develop the items. The instrument design followed a four-step process (4-D model) to construct 39 items on a Likert scale. The instrument items were reviewed and revised based on expert judgment. A panel tested and analyzed the revised items using Aiken's V Index to assess their validity. As much as 82% of the items were found to have good validity criteria. The reliability test results were highly significant. The final instrument was confirmed to have a good fit model and can be used as a standardized tool by educational institutions. A multi-step process to develop and validate a transformational leadership instrument involves expert review, statistical analysis, and confirmation of the instrument's psychometric properties. The high validity and reliability of the final instrument make it a potentially useful tool for assessing transformational leadership in educational settings. The detailed description of the development process provides confidence in the quality of the instrument.

Abstract

Teachers in private Islamic elementary schools in remote areas of Indonesia play a crucial role in the country’s education system, showing remarkable resilience despite the challenges posed by their locations. This study explores the factors contributing to their resilience and its impact on teaching effectiveness. Using qualitative methods, data from ten teachers were gathered through in-depth interviews and observations. The study identified three key factors: socially, teachers gain resilience from their respected status in the community, their responsibility as role models, and maintaining a strong sense of responsibility to their religious leaders and alma mater; spiritually, they view their profession as a noble, Allah-blessed calling and an act of worship; and psychologically, positive emotions such as happiness, peace, and job satisfaction strengthen their resilience. Teachers’ emotional resilience is seen in their enthusiasm, sincerity, and patience despite limitations and low well-being. The study emphasizes the importance of resilience in enabling these teachers to fulfill their responsibilities and suggests strengthening these resilience factors to support them in their essential roles. Further research could extend these findings to another educational context.
