Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis kesalahan siswa dan penyebab kesalahan dari siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel (SPLDV) berdasarkan metode Newman di PKBM BINTANG Tahun Pelajaran 2023/2024. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode tes tertulis dan wawancara. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII Paket B PKBM BINTANG yang berjumlah 26 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika terkait materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel (SPLDV) dengan menggunakan metode Newman adalah: (a) persentase kesalahan membaca yang dilakukan siswa sebesar 10%, (b) persentase kesalahan memahami yang dilakukan siswa sebesar 33,07%, (c) persentase kesalahan transformasi yang dilakukan siswa sebesar 45,38%, (d) persentase kesalahan keterampilan proses yang dilakukan siswa sebesar 41,53%, dan (e) persentase kesalahan penulisan jawaban akhir yang dilakukan siswa sebesar 42,3%. Adapun penyebab kesalahan siswa meliputi tergesa-gesa dalam membaca soal serta kurangnya ketelitian dalam memerhatikan pengerjaan jawaban, tidak mampu mentransformasikan pernyataan kedalam bentuk matematika, kurang berlatih mengerjakan soal-soal cerita terkait materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel (SPLDV), dan terburu-buru dalam mengerjakan proses penyelesaian.

Abstract

The stacking method is an ensemble technique in machine learning that combines predictions from several base models to improve classification accuracy. This research applies the stacking method with two machine learning algorithms, namely Random Forest and Support Vector Machine (SVM) as base learners and logistic regression as a meta learner. This study aims to develop a classification model to identify households based on the food poverty line in West Java Province. The data used is KOR and household data in West Java Province sourced from the 2023 BPS National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas). The variables used consisted of 24 independent variables with food poverty level as the response variable. Modeling was conducted using feature selection using Recursive Feature Elimination (RFE) and class imbalance handling using the ADASYN method. The results showed that the stacking model was superior to the single model with a balance accuracy of 0.81, sensitivity of 0.72, and specificity of 0.89. Feature importance analysis identified that calorie consumption, expenditure on cigarettes, meat and fruits, and expenditure on rice, eggs and other commodities contributed the most to the classification households based on the food poverty line in West Java Province.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the SMOTE, SVM-SMOTE, and SMOTE-Tomek methods using the XGBoost model in overcoming the problem of class imbalance and to determine the factors that affect the status of KUR recipients in West Java Province. Three XGBoost models with class balancing techniques SMOTE, SVM-SMOTE and SMOTE-Tomek were applied to SUSENAS data of West Java Province in 2023 consisting of 1 response variable and 19 predictor variables. The results showed that the XGBoost model with the SMOTE balancing method produced better accuracy in overall data classification, but was less effective in classifying minority classes as reflected by low sensitivity and F1-Score values. The XGBoost model with the SMOTE-Tomek balancing method showed better performance in capturing minority classes with higher sensitivity and F1-Score values. The most influential variables in this model in order are per capita expenditure, urban/rural classification, motorcycle ownership, dwelling wall materials and land ownership. Per capita expenditure has the largest influence on the classification of KUR recipients, indicating that household financial management is a major factor in lending decisions. Urban/rural classification and motorcycle ownership also contributed significantly, reflecting differences in social and economic access between regions. Overall, economic factors, infrastructure and social accessibility are the main considerations in determining KUR recipient households in West Java Province.

Abstract

The realization of "Indonesia Emas 2045" is significantly determined by the current Golden Generation. It is expected that this generation possesses high competence, quality, and innovation. As the most populous province in Indonesia, West Java plays a crucial role in achieving the vision of "Indonesia Emas 2045," particularly in the Human Development pillar through the enhancement of health standards. However, infectious diseases have become a major barrier to realizing this vision, with tuberculosis (TB) being one of the most prevalent. In 2023, there were 204,934 reported TB cases in West Java. Therefore, this study aims to identify the factors influencing the number of TB cases in West Java. The data type for TB cases is count data, thus the approach used in this study is Poisson regression, with Negative Binomial regression as an alternative to address overdispersion. The results indicate that the number of community health centers (X1), the percentage of standard-compliant drinking water facilities (X2), and the Air Quality Index (X4) have a significant impact on the number of TB cases in West Java. This is demonstrated by the p-value of each variable, where variables X1, X2, and X4 all have a p-value of 0.0, except for the percentage of households with adequate sanitation (X3), which has a p-value of 0.063 in the Negative Binomial regression. Based on these factors, it is hoped that the government can optimize related programs and facilities to reduce the number of TB cases in West Java and contribute to realizing one of the pillars of "Indonesia Emas 2045."

Abstract

Bandung Regency located in West Java Province, Indonesia, has a tropical climate with high rainfall variation. This variable rainfall pattern is one of the main characteristics of tropical regions, where seasonal changes such as the rainy and dry seasons significantly impact annual rainfall patterns. In addition, high rainfall is often a trigger for natural disasters, such as floods and landslides, which can cause economic and social losses. Therefore, the ability to predict rainfall accurately is crucial, both for disaster risk mitigation and as a basis for decision-making in various sectors. This study aims to predict rainfall in Bandung Regency for the next year using a time series model approach, specifically a heteroscedastic model. The main focus of the study is to examine rainfall returns, or changes in rainfall over time while considering the nature of heteroscedasticity. In this condition, the variance of the data is not constant over time. The phenomenon of heteroscedasticity is common in rainfall data due to significant changes between seasons or extreme weather events. The study results indicate that the best model for predicting rainfall imbal hasil s is the Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (ARCH) model. The selection of this model is based on the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC), which shows that the ARCH model outperforms the GARCH(1,1) model in handling variance instability in rainfall data. The advantage of the ARCH model lies in its ability to dynamically model variance instability, resulting in more accurate predictions. This model is not only capable of capturing high volatility patterns but also provides a more realistic estimate of large fluctuations that could occur in the future.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the clustering of student independence and learning motivation in the Numerical Methods course during online lectures. Based on the clustering carried out, clusters are obtained according to predetermined criteria. This can be a reference for educators to determine strategies to solve problems. The method used is cluster analysis with the K-Means method using Orange software. The research was carried out on 5th semester students who took Numerical methods courses for the 2020/2021 academic year as many as 4 classes. The data collection technique uses documentation methods derived from UTS scores in the Numerical Methods course for the 2020/2021 academic year and the questionnaire method for independence and motivation for online learning during the pandemic. The results obtained from the research conducted are that in cluster C1 students with independence and high motivation have high GPA and IPS as well. Meanwhile, the C2 cluster is dominated by students with a moderate level of independence and motivation who also have a medium IPS and GPA. In Cluster C3, students have a relatively moderate level of independence and motivation which results in low social studies and GPA. From these results, it can be concluded that the high and low social studies and GPA can be influenced by student independence and learning motivation.

Abstract

A common problem often faced by companie is the instability if the supply of raw materials needed by the company. Likewise, the Nadin’s Onion Chips Business has not implemented a stable raw materials inventory control system. The aim of this research is to control raw material inventory to determine the optimal inventory cost value. The methods used are Economic order Interval (EOI) and Lagrange Multplier. Based on the results, the cost of supplies for tapioca flour was IDR 429.204, wheat flour IDR 429.204, eggs IDR 151.514, garlic IDR 151.578, shallots IDR 172.706, celery IDR 107.301, vegetable oil IDR 239.918 , salt amounting to Rp. 177.822 and flavorings amounting to IDR. 176.394. Meanwhile, using the Lagrange Multiplier method produces inventory costs for tapioca flour of IDR 435.081, wheat flour of IDR 454.352, eggs of IDR 193.917, garlic of IDR 156.468, shallots of IDR 183.314, celery of IDR 113.702, oil vegetables amounting to IDR 243.355, salt amounting to IDR 183.053 and flavorings amounting to IDR 179.815. From the calculation results it can be concluded that the EOI method is more optimal than the Lagrange Multiplier method because EOI has minimum inventory costs.

Abstract

In this paperl, we will discuss inverse of a special form Toeplitz matrix with a block 2 x 2matrix which has two submatrix that are invertible through the application of Schur Complement, there are several steps to determine the inverse of a Toeplitz matrix. The results obtained rae obtaining the invertible form of submatrix invers of the Toeplitz matrix and the general form of the inverse matrix of the special form Toeplitz matrix ,  with 2 x 2 block matrix.

Abstract

Riemann Geometry is a difficult elective for students. The ethnomathematics approach is one way to make it easier for students to learn geometry. The aim of this research is to produce a learning theory for Introduction to Riemann Geometry through an ethnomathematics learning approach that is valid. This research method applies a research design. There are three stages, namely Preliminary Research; Prototype, and the last is the Assessment Stage. The results of this research are that the learning and its tools are valid based on validation by seven experts. In conclusion, the initial design of the learning theory for Riemann Geometry is very valid.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of ethnomathematics in mathematics education in Indonesia using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The SLR method was selected for its ability to provide insights into research trends and various approaches used to integrate local culture into mathematics education. The research procedure includes formulating relevant research questions, searching articles from scientific databases, selecting articles based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and evaluating the quality of selected methodologies. An analysis of 50 articles published between 2018 and 2024 reveals that ethnomathematics research in Indonesia can be categorized into four main variables: publication year, education level, sample size, and research approach. The main findings indicate a dominance of qualitative approaches, with a focus on cultural characteristics in mathematics education and the development of culturally-based learning media. Most studies were conducted at the middle and high school levels. This study highlights the importance of integrating local culture into mathematics education to deepen students' understanding. However, further research is needed on the development of learning media and the diversification of research methods to enhance a comprehensive understanding of the impact of ethnomathematics
