Abstract

A creative way to implement Law number 16 of 2019 is through developing the song Nineteen Years to prevent early marriage. This qualitative-descriptive research data was collected using a music quality questionnaire and an early marriage prevention questionnaire. The research respondents were 73 teenagers (17-21 years). Data analysis using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) approach. The research results show that the process of creating the song Nineteen Years goes through ADDIE stages which fulfill the dimensions of musical quality (such as poetry, tempo, rhythm, melody, beat, instrument). The song lyrics are relatively simple, easy to understand and memorize. The tempo of the music is classified as medium (moderate). The rhythm of the music is regular and harmonious. Melody implies a message, idea or notion from the songwriter. Beat the music with the beat of the notes, and the right accent. The musical instruments are sufficient to support the song accompaniment. However, video viewing still has shortcomings and needs improvement to improve the quality of video viewing. It is recommended that the government adopt a policy of grounding marriage laws through creative songs so that teenagers can prevent early marriage.

Abstract

The Pendidikan Khas Kejogjaan integrates local cultural values to prepare students for the Industry 4.0 era. At Kasihan Public Elementary School, the implementation through the extracurricular activity of Javanese karawitan aims to reinforce cultural identity and address the low interest of students in local wisdom. This study aims to describe the implementation and the supporting and inhibiting factors in the preservation of local wisdom through Javanese karawitan extracurricular activities at Kasihan Public Elementary School. Using a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, the study involves the school principal, teachers, and students as subjects. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using triangulation techniques. The findings indicate that while the facilities are adequate, teachers lack specialized training and student participation is suboptimal due to interest in external cultures. Curriculum planning that integrates local cultural values is effective, but formal teacher training is lacking. The program’s implementation, which includes differentiated learning methods and educational visits, enhances student understanding, although it is hindered by insufficient facilities. Regular evaluations support program improvements. Supporting factors include the involvement of school stakeholders and parental support while inhibiting factors include low student awareness and insufficient teacher skills. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of Pendidikan Khas Kejogjaan through Javanese karawitan extracurricular activities at Kasihan Public Elementary School is effective in integrating local culture, though it requires better teacher training and facilities. The program enhances students' cultural understanding, supported by systematic evaluations and school stakeholder support, but is impeded by low student awareness and teacher skills. This study’s contribution lies in providing insights into the integration of local cultural values into extracurricular curricula and the factors affecting its success.

Abstract

Universitas Negeri Surabaya's Music Study Program has a well-known piano major. The only university in East Java with baby grand piano facilities for lecture activities is Universitas Negeri Surabaya, which has pianos available in every class, including the Music Study Program. This shows that the piano major is a sort of representative lecture space. Comprehensive learning resources are also necessary to support the learning process. This has emerged as a key issue or pressing need in the research. There needs to be a solution to the problem of pupils without a learning tool to use to improve their skills. The research titled "Representative Etude as a Texture and Touch Sensitivity Enhancement of Piano Playing at Music Study Program" was conducted based on the needs analysis. This paper was the result of research and development, and it took the shape of a material book with the etude or repertoire selected to help students improve their ability to play the piano with sophisticated touch sensitivity and varied texture. The research‘s empirical findings can be used to demonstrate how the learning process for the piano major course has changed. This is demonstrated by the effectiveness test results of the course material book, which show percentage rates up to 90%, indicating that students can comprehend and apply all of the information in the book. This material book illustrates how the "Merdeka Belajar" Concept can help pupils study and practice on their own.

Abstract

Wayang Golek Purwa, as one of the traditional cultural heritages of the Sundanese community, faces significant challenges in maintaining its existence amid the rapid development of modern technology. This research aims to analyze the influence of technology on Wayang Golek Purwa performances, especially in integrating tradition and innovation to attract a wider audience and be relevant to the digital era. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach through direct observation, literature study, and audio-visual analysis of the performance. The findings show that the application of technology, such as visual projection, modern lighting, and digital sound, significantly enriches the aesthetic and dramatic dimensions of Wayang Golek Purwa. In addition, the integration of multimedia technology opens up new opportunities to introduce stories and characters that are relevant to the younger generation. However, the research also identified challenges, including limited access to technology among performers in rural areas. The fusion of tradition and innovation through technology opens up opportunities for the preservation of Wayang Golek Purwa while strengthening its appeal in the era of globalization. Recommendations are made to develop a model of collaboration between traditional artists and technology experts to maintain a balance between modernization and preservation of traditional values.

Abstract

This study explores instrumentalist (students) self-regulation in self-learning practices in a counter-bass class by integrating a performance pedagogy perspective. Self-regulation is the ability of individuals to regulate the learning process through planning, monitoring, and evaluating their performance (practice). This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and analysis of daily practice journals from students who took counter-bass classes at the college level. The results showed that effective self-regulation in counter-bass instrumentalists involves structured rehearsal planning, performance reflection, and artistic interpretation strategies aligned with pedagogical principles. This research makes a theoretical contribution to the development of self-regulation in the context of performance pedagogy by highlighting how self-directed learning strategies can be strengthened by integrating performative approaches. Implications of this research include incorporating elements of self-regulation and performance pedagogy into music education curricula, particularly on string instruments such as the contra-bass, which require a complex blend of technical and musical skills.

Abstract

Gandana is an experimental sound ensemble formed by Jogja Disability Art with instrument maker Nanang Garuda. Gandana together with the instrument maker has the concept of sound deliberation. Sound deliberation is a responsive tone-by-tone improvisation that is played spontaneously. Inclusive development in various sectors, including arts in Indonesia, accommodates the artistic expression of artists with disabilities, such as Suluh Sumurup Art Fest 2023 and Biennale 2023. Various stages of experimentation were passed by Gandana and the instrument maker as a forum for creative sound deliberation. This article shows that sound deliberation is Gandana’s desire to play. The relevance between social identity and play desires is used to get recognition from other communities. Data was obtained through literature study, interviews, documentation, and observations at two locations, Suluh Sumurup Art Fest and Jogja Biennale 2023 Interview was conducted at Rumah Museum Garuda with six informants, including Nanang Garuda as the instrument maker and Gandana’s members. The data is divided into two categories, primary and secondary. This research applies inductive logic, where the exploration began through field studies, interviews, and observations. The data then got into the analysis stage to produce a systematic description of the findings. This research reveals that sound deliberation is a playful desire used by Gandana to unite the sense and soul of others, as well as build meditative nuances through the repetition of sounds.
