Abstract

Breast milk (ASI) production in the early postpartum period often encounters difficulties, requiring effective non-pharmacological interventions. Oxytocin massage and Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) are believed to enhance oxytocin reflex and facilitate lactation. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of combined oxytocin massage and LLLT on breast milk production among postpartum mothers and to analyze influencing maternal characteristics. Methods: This study employed a pretest–posttest one group design with 40 postpartum mothers. Breast milk production was measured using the pumping method before and after intervention. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired t-test, and bivariate analysis based on age, parity, education, and delivery history. Results: Mean breast milk production increased significantly from 2.2 ml/day to 75.5 ml/day (p<0.001). Bivariate analysis showed no significant differences by age, parity, or education (p>0.05), but delivery history was significantly associated with milk production (p=0.04). Conclusion: The combination of oxytocin massage and LLLT is clinically effective in enhancing breast milk production among postpartum mothers. Delivery history influences lactation outcomes, suggesting that this intervention has potential to be integrated into midwifery practice to support exclusive breastfeeding and stunting prevention.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the healthcare sector encourages hospitals to adopt Hospital Information Systems (HIS), known in Indonesia as SIMRS to improve service efficiency and data management quality. However, the success of SIMRS implementation is strongly influenced by system quality, information quality, service quality, and users’ perceptions of the technology. This study aims to evaluate the success factors of SIMRS at RSIJ Pondok Kopi by integrating Perceived Usefulness and demographic factors into the DeLone and McLean (D&M) Information System Success Model through user satisfaction. This research methode is a quantitative design with cross sectional study using the PLS-SEM approach. The sample consisted of 62 SIMRS users selected using a total sampling technique. The study was conducted from May to August 2025. The results show that information quality and system quality significantly affect perceived usefulness, perceived usefulness significantly affects user satisfaction, and user satisfaction significantly affects net benefits. In addition, perceived usefulness has a significant indirect effect on net benefits. Meanwhile, demographic factors are not the main determinants of SIMRS success. Therefore, hospital management is recommended to prioritize improving information quality to optimize the effectiveness of SIMRS implementation.

Abstract

Globally and in Indonesia, diabetes mellitus (DM) is mainly type 2. When outpatient care fails to control blood glucose, hospitalization treatment becomes necessary. This is in line with the implementation of the referral system in the era of the National Health Insurance. This study aims to analyze the utilization of hospitalization among patients diagnosed with Type 2 DM (T2DM). A cross-sectional design was applied using sample data from BPJS Kesehatan Year 2024, representing 2023 visit records. All patients admitted with T2DM were included. Inpatient utilization measured by admission frequency, intervals, length of stay, referral sources, diagnostic consistency, discharge status, and comorbidities among T2DM patients. Descriptive analysis was performed on patient characteristics and hospitalization utilization patterns. In 2023, there were 480 admissions involving 417 patients, mean interval between hospitalizations was 69 days. The length of hospital stay increased with the presence of complications. Most referrals came from hospitals, 66% of primary diagnoses matched the admission diagnosis, and hypertension was the most common comorbidity. Most discharge status was recovered. Recommendations include enhancing continuity of care and the referral back program through system integration to mitigate T2DM readmission risks.

Abstract

The implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) at Yarsis Islamic Hospital Surakarta has changed the work system and workflow of outpatient registration officers. This different workflow will undoubtedly alter existing human resource requirements, impacting the productivity of registration staff. This study aims to analyze human resource (HR) requirements in the outpatient registration unit after the implementation of EMR using the Health Workload Analysis (ABK-Kes) method. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a cross-sectional design. Data were collected through observation and interviews with four outpatient registration officers. Data processing included collecting, editing, tabulation, and data presentation. The analysis of human resource requirements was conducted using the Health Workload Analysis (ABK-Kes) method, which includes calculating available working time (WKT), determining workload components and standard time, calculating workload standards (SBK), supporting task standards (STP), and supporting task factors (FTP). The data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the required number of human resources was one officer for the morning shift and two officers for the afternoon shift. Currently, there are four registration officers employed at the hospital. It can be concluded that there is an excess of one registration officer. This study recommends regular evaluations of HR needs and workloads, particularly during increases in patient visits or changes in service systems, to ensure appropriate workforce allocation. Improving staff competencies and educational qualifications in accordance with applicable regulations is also necessary to support sustainable service quality

Abstract

The Casemix Unit plays a strategic role in the submission and reimbursement of healthcare service claims for BPJS Kesehatan participants. Nevertheless, many hospitals continue to experience pending claims due to administrative errors, incomplete documentation, coding inaccuracies, prolonged verification processes, policy changes, and limited integration of information systems. This study aimed to design and evaluate a web-based internal claim audit application to improve verification effectiveness and reduce pending claims in the Casemix Unit. This research adopted a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Borg and Gall model and was conducted over one year at RSU Prof. Dr. M. A. Hanafiah Batusangkar, where an increasing number of pending claims was identified in 2024. System evaluation was carried out through usability assessment, and comparative observation of the claim audit process before and after prototype implementation. The results demonstrated that all application features functioned according to system requirements. Implementation of the application contributed to improved operational efficiency, enhanced accuracy in document and coding verification, and faster claim review time compared to the previous manual process. The application includes document completeness verification, coding validation, claim status monitoring, and AI-assisted early detection of potential errors with corrective recommendations. These findings indicate that the system is feasible and capable of supporting a more structured and consistent internal audit process. The study concludes that the application has strong potential to improve claim management quality and support hospital financial sustainability. Future studies should conduct broader implementation, integrate the system with hospital information systems and BPJS platforms, and perform long-term quantitative evaluations of its effectiveness.

Abstract

The accuracy of ICD-10 external cause injury coding depends heavily on the completeness of anamnesis documentation, particularly information on event chronology, place of occurrence, and patient activity. Nurses, as primary healthcare professionals responsible for anamnesis documentation in the Emergency Department (ED), play a key role in supporting accurate diagnostic coding. However, incomplete documentation of external cause injury information remains a common challenge in hospital settings. This study aimed to analyze the role of nurses in ensuring the completeness of external cause injury anamnesis to support accurate diagnostic coding at Mitra Paramedika Hospital, Yogyakarta. A qualitative descriptive study with a case study approach was conducted involving 12 healthcare workers, consisting of 10 emergency nurses and 2 medical record coders. Data were collected through pre-tests, focused group discussions (FGDs), post-tests, medical record observations, and in-depth interviews. Descriptive analysis was used to assess changes in knowledge and documentation practices before and after the intervention. The results indicated that prior to the FGD, several nurses had limited understanding of the importance of documenting place of occurrence and patient activity for external cause coding. Following the FGD, all participants demonstrated adequate knowledge in the post-test. Additionally, the use of electronic medical records improved documentation readability and completeness, facilitating more accurate coding. This study concludes that nurses play a critical role in external cause injury documentation, and that educational interventions and electronic medical record implementation effectively enhance documentation quality and coding accuracy.
