Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARIs) is one of the causes of death in children. The incidence of ARI in toddlers can occur due to several risk factors such as home occupancy density, home ventilation, and smoking habits of family members. This research aimed to determine the relationship between occupancy density and smoking habits in the house with the incidence of ARI in toddlers in Pasrepan Village, Pasuruan Regency. This study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 35 respondents selected using a total sampling technique. Instruments of occupancy density, smoking habits, and ARI incidence were studied using questionnaires and chi-square statistical tests. The results showed that more than half of the respondents (57.1%) lived in overcrowded homes, and a similar proportion (57.1%) had smoking habits in the house. The incidence of ARI was reported in more than half of the respondents (54.3%). The results showed that more than half of the residential density did not meet the requirements, with as many as 20 respondents (57.1%). Having a smoking habit in the house, more than half as many as 20 respondents (57.1%). The incidence of ARI, more than half as many with 26 respondents (54.3%) experiencing ARI. The results of the chi-square test found that there was a relationship between occupancy density (p-value = 0.0001) and smoking habits in the house (p-value = 0.025) with the incidence of ARI in toddlers in Pasrepan Village, Pasuruan Regency. Nurses are expected to further increase socialisation to provide education related to a qualified environment and the dangers of smoking in the house to mothers who have toddlers.

Abstract

The Early Warning System Score (EWSS) is increasingly recognized as an essential tool for identifying clinical deterioration in hospitalized patients. This literature review synthesizes the outcomes and practical aspects of EWSS implementation over the past decade, with a focus on studies conducted in teaching, community, and specialized care hospitals. Articles indexed in English databases PubMed, MEDLINE, Embase, and the Cochrane Library. The research steps were performed according to PRISMA writing standard and the quality assessment was done using CASP critical appraisal tools due to the heterogeneity of the study designs according to the inclusion criteria. Drawing from over 26 scholarly sources—80% of which have been published within the last five years the review examines key implementation metrics such as patient safety  indicators, staff response times, and cost-effectiveness while detailing the assessment tools and measurements used to evaluate EWSS outcomes. Quantitative data were analyzed to assess success rates and pinpoint failure points across multiple hospital departments including emergency, intensive care, and in-patient wards. Implementation challenges related to staff training, resource allocation, and integration with existing patient monitoring systems are discussed, along with recommendations to enhance system performance and clinical decision-making. The findings suggest that while EWSS can significantly improve early detection of clinical deterioration, its success is contingent upon tailored implementation strategies that consider the unique constraints of varied hospital types. This review contributes to a better understanding of how global standards and local practices interact in the effective utilization of EWSS, ultimately aiming to improve patient outcomes and hospital safety.

Abstract

This integrative review aims to examines how head nurses' leadership styles impact quantifiable job performance metrics of staff inpatient nurses who work in acute care hospital settings. This research review synthesizes quantitative studies from peer-reviewed nursing journals over the past 10 years. We utilized databases CINAHL, PubMed, and Scopus to locate studies that incorporate standardized quantitative metrics and critical appraisal tools for assessing leadership effectiveness. The research team used a PRISMA flow diagram to maintain transparency throughout the process of literature selection. Transformative leadership shows the strongest positive correlation with nurse job performance outcomes such as increased patient satisfaction ratings alongside reduced staff turnover and improved clinical skills. The research field exhibits notable gaps because study designs vary widely while performance metrics and longitudinal data remain insufficient. Future research should employ strong methodological frameworks to further clarify how specific leadership behaviors affect staff outcomes. Nurse managers and policy makers should focus on creating leadership development programs and organizational approaches that optimize staff performance within acute care settings.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a serious long-term or chronic condition that occurs when there is an increase in blood glucose levels due to the body's inability to produce enough insulin or effectively use the insulin it produces. In patients with Diabetes Mellitus, sexual dysfunction is a frequently overlooked complication, despite significantly impacting quality of life. Female sexual dysfunction is defined as a persistent or recurrent decrease in sexual desire, persistent or recurrent decrease in sexual arousal, dyspareunia, and difficulty or inability to achieve orgasm. Several variables influence sexual dysfunction, including depression, anxiety, physical problems, marital issues, and medication side effects. Additionally, social and cultural norms related to diabetes and sexuality can lead to feelings of guilt, stigma, and low self-esteem. The aim of this systematic review is to analyze the effectiveness of counseling therapy on sexual dysfunction in women with diabetes mellitus. This article conducted a search of electronic database sources including Science Direct, Springer Link, Proquest, and Scopus, published from 2014 to 2024, using several keywords: (Female Sexual Dysfunction And Diabetes Mellitus And FSFI And Counseling). Results : Based on the analysis of four articles, there is a positive relationship between counseling therapy and sexual dysfunction in women with diabetes mellitus. Conclusion and Recommendations : Holistic counseling therapy that addresses various physical, psychological, cultural aspects, and individual temperament can improve sexual function, thereby enhancing patients' quality of life. Therefore, it is important for healthcare providers to consider counseling therapy as part of the care plan for women experiencing sexual dysfunction due to diabetes.

Abstract

Heart disease Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) causes a death every minute in the world. The impact of ACS itself includes pain due to myocardial ischemia, activity intolerance due to an imbalance between oxygen supply and demand due to blockage of the coronary artery walls, both of which can affect the patient's hemodynamic status to become unstable. For patients whose hemodynamic status is unbalanced, the recommended solution is to train the patient to tolerate changes in position rather than leaving the patient in a supine position. Progressive Mobilization is a form of exercise to overcome the problem of post-immobilization activity tolerance in ACS patients, which is useful for preventing and minimizing anxiety and depression, preventing thromboembolism, reducing morbidity, and improving cardiovascular function which can cause hemodynamic instability and reducing recurrence rates in ACS patients. This writing aims to analyze level 1 progressive mobilization training interventions using the case study method of a nursing care approach. The sample in this writing consisted of 2 patients and was carried out when they were pain-free and given the same treatment twice a day for 2 days, the sampling technique used purposive sampling, data analysis with 3 stages, namely: descriptive analysis, Pattern Matching, and quantitative analysis. The results of implementing Level 1 Progressive Mobilization in this writing show an increase in hemodynamic status (BP, HR, RR, TB, & SPO2) pre and post Level 1 Progressive Mobilization but still within normal limits.
