Melalui cakupan kebijakan dan pengembangan kurikulum, hasil penelitian terbaru tentang pengajaran, pembelajaran dan penilaian biologi dikedepankan. Jurnal Bioshell menerima dan menerbitkan artikel dalam bentuk penelitian dan kajian (artikel ilmiah) di bidang pendidikan biologi dan pemanfaatan penelitian biologi dalam proses belajar mengajar. Semua artikel diterbitkan dalam bahasa Indonesia dan menjalani proses penilaian sejawat. Abstract

Hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik pada materi sistem koordinasi di SMAN 3 Payakumbuh tergolong rendah karena penggunaan sumber belajar yang kurang bervariasi oleh guru. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik yaitu menggunakan sumber belajar booklet. Booklet yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sudah diuji kevalidan dan praktikalitasnya, namun belum di uji efektivitasnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengginaan booklet sistem koordinasi terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik fase F kelas XI SMA N 3 Payakumbuh. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu, dimana sampel penelitin ini adalah kelas F2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan F1 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik tes. Intrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar soal berbentuk objektif. Analisis data yang digunakan untuk mengukur hasil belajar kognitif pada penelitian ini yaitu uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian pada ranah kognitif diperoleh rata-rata kelas eksperimen sebesar 71,67 lebih tinggi dari pada kelas kontrol dengan rata-rata sebesar 62,08. Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan independent sampel t-test didapatkan nilai sig (2-tailed) sebesar 0,00. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan Booklet sistem koordinasi terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik fase F kelas XI SMA N 3 Payakumbuh.

Abstract

Pendidikan pada era globalisasi memiliki urgensi penting dalam peningkatan keterampilan abad 21. Keterampilan yang diharapkan berfokus pada terciptanya tatanan masyarakat yang mampu menguasai dan memahami sains. Literasi sains adalah salah satu kemampuan yang sangat diperlukan saat ini. Peningkatan literasi sains dapat dilakukan dengan memperhatikan penggunaan bahan ajar, model, pendekatan, dan instrumen evaluasi guru yang dikaitkan dengan literasi sains.. Penelitian ini merupakan literature review yakni menganalisis artikel yang relevan dengan memasukkan kata kunci “Literasi Sains” dan “Pembelajaran Biologi”. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif jenis deskriptif, artikel terkait dalam rentang waktu lima tahun (2020-2024). Artikel rujukan berupa artikel dengan bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa inggris yang didapatkan dari beberapa media database seperti Google Scholar, Science Direct, Publish or Perish dan Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) . Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik pada pembelajaran biologi masih belum maksimal, hal ini didapati karena hasil tes kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik belum merata. Terdapat skor literasi sains peserta didik yang sudah berada dalam kategori tinggi dan sedang. Tetapi, masih terdapat sekolah-sekolah dengan hasil tes literasi sains peserta didik yang dikelompokkan pada kategori rendah. Hal ini memerlukan perhatian khusus guna menunjang peningkatan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik, misalnya dengan mengaitkan pembelajaran pada permasalahan yang kontekstual ataupun menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran yang tepat, guna memberdayakan potensi kemampuan literasi sains. Hasil dari literature review ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran dengan strategi yang tepat mampu meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik.

Abstract

Trends in society show that people are depending on the use of plastic materials, due to the nature of plastic which is anti-rust, cheap, practical and lightweight. This trend causes the plastic waste in the environment out of the control. It takes a long time for plastic waste to be degraded by nature, and will cause environmental pollution if it is too late to deal with it. On the other hand, people's need for fuel increasingly, but the availability of the fuel on the nature are rared. Therefore, the effort in changging the plastic waste into fuel are important so that the problem of environmental pollution as well as the scarcity of fossil fuels can be overcome at once. Literature review is the method chosen in this study, where this method selects journals related to the conversion of plastic waste so that it can be used as fuel. The conclusion is the plastic waste can be converted into fuel through several methods, including cracking and pyrolysis, tools and materials needed can be obtained from the surrounding environment so that production costs can be reduced.

Abstract

Research on the application of the DMR Learning Model which is a model for student learning activities. The goal is to improve the learning outcomes of class VIII students at MTs Al Kawtsar Panti - Jember with 19 students being studied as respondents. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research. This data analysis uses qualitative data analysis. Based on the results of the study, it was obtained that the learning outcomes that were initially applied to the learning model were obtained by students with 36% classical completeness. With the implementation of the DMR learning model at the stage of cycle 1, student learning outcomes have increased by reaching an average of 80.00 with a classical completeness of 57%. The implementation of one cycle of student learning outcomes has increased but has not yet reached the researcher's target. In the second cycle of research, student learning outcomes have increased with an average score of 88.42 with a classical completeness of 78%. From the results of the amount of data that has been calculated based on the criteria for the level of success, it can be categorized as GOOD. Thus, it is concluded that the application of the DMR learning model can improve student learning outcomes in class VIII MTs Al Kawtsar Panti – Jember

Abstract

This study aims to determine the appropriate composition of NPK and concentration of photosynthetic bacteria on the growth and development of lunar orchids. This research was conducted from December to April 2023, in Sukorambi Village, Sukorambi District, Jember Regency, East Java Province. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) with a factorial pattern, the first factor was 3 treatments of NPK composition (K) and the second factor was 3 treatments of photosynthetic bacteria concentration (P) repeated 3 times. So that the total experiment was 27 plants. The treatment used was K1 = NPK 1:1:1; K2 = NPK 1.5:1:1; K3 = NPK 2:1:1 and P0 = control; P1 = 2.5ml/l; P2 = 5 ml/l. The test was carried out with the F test with analysis of variance (ANOVA), if there is a significant difference (F-count value> F-table) then proceed with the 5% DMRT test. The results showed that the composition of NPK and photosynthetic bacteria gave a significant interaction on leaf length. However, they were not significantly different in leaf width, number of leaves, root length, number of roots, and fresh weight.

Abstract

This research aims to find out whether a STEM-based e-model with integrated digestive system material on Al-Quran verses is feasible, practical and effective in the learning process. This research uses research and development (R&D) research methods with the 4D model (Define, design development and disseminate). The instruments used in this research were interview sheets, validation sheets for material experts, media experts and experts in integrating Al-Quran verses, questionnaires and tests. The results of this research show that the STEM-based module on integrated digestive system material with Al-Quran verses that has been developed has validity in the material aspect, getting a percentage of 98.14%, in the media aspect, getting a percentage of 96.55%. The practicality module was obtained from the teacher response questionnaire. The practicality of the teacher response questionnaire obtained a percentage of 100% and the practicality of the student questionnaire obtained a percentage of 97.84%. The effectiveness of the pretest and posttest results obtained an N-Gain value of 0.91 with a percentage of 91%. With these results, the module is declared suitable for use. Thus, it is hoped that in the future the module can be used in future learning and research

Abstract

Visual aids are part of learning resources that contain processive material in the student environment, which are graphic, photographic or electronic tools, which are used to capture, process and reconstruct visual or verbal data. In this research, the learning media used are simple electrical teaching aids, which are used to help explain examples of the electrical apparatus itself. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach, in which researchers conduct research on the development of simple electrical teaching aids. Data collection techniques were by means of interviews, observations, questionnaires, and also tests held at MI Mifathul Huda Mlokorejo Jember. The results obtained in this research were a high level of student interest in the teaching aids provided, as well as student understanding which was proven by carrying out tests carried out carried out given to students at MI Mifathul Huda Mlokorejo Jember. The use of teaching aids in simple electrical material can be interesting and provide direct understanding to students. Where students are given real examples and illustrations that are easy for students to understand. However, other game methods are needed so that students who are not paying enough attention can follow the learning process well.

Abstract

Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) lessons are one of the important components in the elementary education curriculum. In learning, there are several abstract material concepts that make it difficult for students to understand them. Therefore, innovation is needed in learning, for example by utilizing and developing alat peragaor teaching aids. The development of Kudus alat peraga(Kerangka Tulang Kartu) aims to make it easier for students to understand abstract concepts such as the function and structure of the human skeleton. With the development of this media, it is hoped that it can become an effective visual aid for IPAS learning. The type of research used is Research and Development with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data analysis is in the form of qualitative and quantitative analysis. The feasibility or validity test was obtained from the validation of two experts, namely material experts and alat peragaexperts. The results of the feasibility test obtained that the validation was 78% (Valid) and for the IPAS learning material experts, the validation value was 70% (Valid). Based on these values, alat peragaexperts stated that this Kudus alat peragawas feasible and without revision. For small-scale alat peragatesters, an average of 75% (Good) was obtained for student responses, a value of 77% (Very Good) for teacher responses. And in large-scale testing, an average value of 88% (Very Good) was obtained for students, and 80% for teacher responses. From the results above, it can be concluded that the developed product is feasible to be implemented in science learning on the human skeleton material based on good and very good validity in responses from teachers and students.

Abstract

Photosynthesis is an important process for plants to produce energy through the conversion of carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen with the help of light energy. Environmental factors such as light intensity, carbon dioxide availability, temperature, and water concentration affect the rate of photosynthesis. This study aims to analyze the effect of light and NaHCO₃ (Sodium Bicarbonate) concentration on the speed of photosynthesis process in plants. One way to increase the availability of carbon dioxide for plants is by adding NaHCO₃ (Sodium Bicarbonate) solution. In this experiment, variations in light intensity, irradiation time and NaHCO₃ concentration were used to observe the rate of photosynthesis as measured by changes in the amount of oxygen produced. The results of this study indicate that both light and NaHCO₃ have an important role in influencing the rate of photosynthesis, but there is an optimal limit where further increase does not give significant results.
