Abstract

The research sought to investigate graduates' experiences with the shift to virtual graduation. The interpretive paradigm used in this study aided the current researchers in maintaining the integrity of the phenomenon being investigated, which comprehends the experiences of graduates on various platforms used at graduation. Qualitative method was utilized. The research included thirty randomly chosen graduates from three different institutions. Data was gathered using a semi-structured questionnaire. According to the report, institutions focused more on physical ceremony arrangements, despite the fact that the majority of students participated digitally. The study also found that other graduates enjoyed the graduation because they attended physical virtual graduation events planned by student representatives and held at various locations. Graduates, on the other hand, were financially burdened since they had to invest additional graduation expenditures in order to attend these physical virtual graduation festivities. The study concluded that the effectiveness of various virtual graduation formats as measured by participant satisfaction, ease of access, ability to optimize social presence, and engagement was not achieved. In this aspect, the survey indicated that colleges prioritized actual graduation ceremonies over virtual ceremonies. The research suggests that colleges collaborate with various event planners to supply and host their grads, allowing all graduates to experience a feeling of connection and success.

The development of digital book using the Flip PDF Professional application for Lehrwerkanalyse course is motivated by the lack of interactive teaching materials for students. The aims of this research are: (1) to develop a digital book for Lehrwerkanalyse course through the Flip PDF Professional application; (2) to determine the feasibility of digital books based on expert judgment and student perceptions. This research is a research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model. This research was tested on students of German Language Education Study Program, Universitas Negeri Malang. The stages of this research are: 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Development, 4) Implementation, and 5) Evaluation. The data collection method used a questionnaire to obtain assessment data from students on the product. The result of the product is an OFFEN digital book contains 8 materials presented in the form of text, video, audio, supporting images, mini quizzes, and essay assignments for the Lehrwerkanalyse course. The results of the expert assessment using the Gregory validity formula, the feasibility is at a score of 0.96 (very high). The implementation of digital book for students results in that these digital books have an attractive appearance, easier to understand the material, can be used as independent teaching materials, and is easy to access. Based on these two assessments, the OFFEN digital book is suitable to use as independent teaching material.

This study is qualitative with in-depth interview as the main data collection technique. The respondents of this study cover 137 senior high school teachers. The data is analyzed by identifying the relevant interplays between graduate competences, language learning methods, online platforms used, and conflicts on the teachers and students learning autonomously along pandemic. The findings show that there are conflicts among the teachers and students in implementing online communicative language teaching autonomously, since the method and the used online learning platforms are irrelevant and internet literacy and infrastructure are still poor. There must be comprehensive understanding and skills of the teachers and students in handling autonomous learning digitally along the pandemic including learning outcome, materials, learning methods and process, and testing the outcome. Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree to which science teachers developed school students’ creative thinking skills in Jordan and Sultanate of Oman. It also aimed to find out if the teachers’ role in developing school students’ creative thinking skills differed as per their work place (Jordan and Oman) and whether or not there were statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05=α) in the teachers’ role in developing school students’ creative thinking skills from the perspective of teachers attributed to the variable of teaching experience. To achieve the study objectives, the descriptive survey approach was used through developing a questionnaire with 31 statements which was distributed to a sample of 140 teachers teaching science to grades 4 to 8 in public schools in Jordan and Sultanate of Oman in the academic year 2021 – 2022. 5- point Likert scale was used to analyze the data collected. The findings showed that primary education science teachers practiced creative thinking skills with their students to a high degree as the mean of their responses to the questionnaire statements was 3.43 with a standard deviation 1.12. There were no statistically significant differences in the science teachers’ response means in Jordan and Oman. However, there were statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05=α) in the teachers’ response means in favor of the female teachers whose response mean was 4.25 which was higher than the male teachers’ response mean which was 3.35. This result might be attributed to a number of factors such as women in Arab societies try to prove themselves and try to prove that they are more distinguished than men. In light of the findings, the study recommended adopting teaching strategies that develop students’ creative thinking skills, supporting teachers who develop these skills and generalizing these findings to other educational stages.
