Abstract

This study aims to determine whether career development and work motivation affect employee performance through job satisfaction as an intervening variable at PT. Mark Dynamic Medan. The study was conducted on 85 employees of PT. Mark Dynamic Medan by using the Slovin formula sampling technique. The data collection technique used is primary data in the form of questionnaires and secondary data obtained through documentation studies. The data analysis technique uses quantitative data which is processed with SPSS version 25 program, namely t test, coefficient of determination (R2) and path analysis. The results obtained in this study indicate 1) there is a significant influence between career development on job satisfaction, 2) there is a significant influence between work motivation variables on job satisfaction, 3) there is a significant but not significant effect between job satisfaction variables on performance, 4) there is an influence but not significant between career development variables on performance, 5) there is a significant influence between work motivation variables on performance, 6) job satisfaction variables can affect career development variables on performance, 7) job satisfaction variables can affect work motivation variables on performance. The ability of career development variables, work motivation and job satisfaction in explaining employee performance at PT. Mark Dynamic Medan is 62.3%, while the remaining 37.7% is explained by other variables not included in this research model.

Abstract

This study aims to find out whether human resource competence has an indirect effect on employee performance through job satisfaction, to find out whether organizational culture has an indirect effect on employee performance through job satisfaction and to find out whether transformational leadership style has an indirect effect on employee performance through job satisfaction. . Descriptive statistics are statistics that function to describe or provide an overview of the object under study through sample data or the population as it is, without analyzing and making conclusions that apply to the public. The influence of human resource competence on job satisfaction through employee performance is 0.008, with a T statistic value of 0.439 (> 1.993) and a significance value (p-values) of 0.661 (< 0.05). Thus, the first hypothesis (H8) in the study this is rejected. The influence of Organizational Culture on job satisfaction through employee performance is 0.459, with a T statistic of 02.447 (< 1.993 and a significance value (p-values) of 0.015 (> 0.05). Thus, the second hypothesis (H9) in this study is accepted. The effect of transformational leadership style on job satisfaction through employee performance is 0.098, with a T statistic of 2.242 (>1.993 and a significance value (p-values) of 0.025 (<0.05) thus, the third hypothesis (H10) in this study is accepted.

Abstract

The number of human populations is increasing as well as daily needs and consequently increased the number of wastes that being produced including plastic waste. Indonesia itself consumed 17 kg/capita per year. Recycling the plastic waste is one of alternatives way to reduce waste, by melting the plastic waste using six heaters from electrical energy source. This research was conducted to obtain number of heaters that will be used in the injection molding process by considering the time consumed for the temperature of 50? - 210? C. The observation is being done by measuring the temperature and power supplied from 3, 4, 5 and 6 heaters and repeated for 3 times experiment. Based on the measurement data that has been carried out, it is found that the highest average power is the injection with six numbers of heaters consumed 956.80 W. The time measurement required to reach optimal temperature, for 3 number of heaters was taking the longest time which is 2842 Seconds. This condition is in line with the average of electrical power consumed to reach the optimal temperature is the using of the heaters 0.350 kWh. Based on three hypotheses that being done, the result shows that the Ha is accepted and there is significant influence between three models that being made.

Abstract

This research is a research on the development and utilization of peat soil material that is often found in the Humbang Hasundutan district, where peat soil that has been stabilized with lime can later become new soil parameter data that can be used for road subgrade construction improvements. The purpose of this study was to stabilize the Humbang Hasundutan peat soil mixed with lime to meet the standards for road subgrade construction, which will be tested with the California Bearing Ratio (CBR). This study used experimental methods carried out in the laboratory, by conducting tests to obtain new soil parameter data by trying variations of 10%, 20% and 30% initial lime. From the results obtained, the results of the CBR test of peat soil with a lime mixture variation of 20% have met the specifications of Highways for road construction subgrade, which is 5.5%.

Abstract

An infectious disease is a disease with the highest prevalence in the world, with a great risk of transmission. Staphylococcus aureus is a pathogen that can cause several infectious diseases. The use of kemangi leaves as vegetables can be used as an invention in treating infections caused by bacteria. The purpose of this study was a phytochemical screening test to determine what metabolites are contained and their potential activity against Staphylococcus aureus. The research method is to carry out a qualitative phytochemical screening test using reagents and an antibacterial potential test against Staphylococcus aureus using the Kirby-Bauer method (diffusion agar) with varying concentrations. The results showed that kemangi leaves extract showed positive results on the secondary metabolite compounds, were alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, glycosides, and steroids/triterpenoids. The diameter of the inhibition zone at a concentration of 500 mg/mL showed the diameter of the inhibition zone was 11.93 ± 0.25 mm with the strong category group. The conclusion is that the ethanolic extract of kemangi leaves shows the ethanolic extract of kemangi leaves has potential as an antibacterial.

Abstract

Manganese (Mn) mining in North Central Timor results in open land conditions that can change soil qualities. The aim of this study was to determine physical characteristics and chemical properties of the soil in the ex-manganese mining areas. The study was performed from June – September 2021. Soil characterization was carried out at selected locations where manganese mining was carried out both traditionally and using technology. The soil characteristics measured were texture, water content, bulk density, mass density, porosity, organic matter content, pH, cation exchange capacity (CEC), organic C, total nitrogen (N), total phosphorus (P), total potassium (K), and total Mn. The results showed that the physical characteristics of the soil on ex-Mn mining land from 5 villages in TTU, NTT are dominated by sand texture which results in low water content (3.39 - 9.46 %), soil porosity (14.96 - 59.31 %), and high bulk density (1.18 - 1.49 g cm-3). Characteristics of soil chemical properties showed low pH (< 7), organic matter (0.06 – 0.81%), organic C (0.03 – 0.22 %), total N contents (0.05 – 0.22%), and high total P (14.77 – 61.44 me 100 g-), K (66.66 – 71.18 me 100 g-), and Mn (18.802 – 24.055 ppm) contents. Land must be reclaimed Reclamation can be done by land management, top soil conservation, planting pioneer crops or cover crops.
