Abstract

The oral conventional metronidazole dosage forms have a short duration of action due to gastric emptying process, hence the treatment of ulcus pepticum using metronidazole become less effective. Due to retaining the dosage form in the stomach, a preparation form of sustained released drug delivery systems has been developed. The aim of this study was to developed a sustained released drug delivery systems of metronidazole using alginate and chitosan as polymers that could last longer in stomach. The formulation consisted of variatons in chitosan 0.5%, 0.75% and 1%. The drug released test was carried out using paddle method in simulated gastric medium pH 1.2 at 37°C. The dissolution test results showed that formula with 0.75% of chitosan giving the best sustained released effect and the kinetics drug realeased of microcapsule followed Higuchi order. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that microcapsules of metronidazole with a combination of alginate and chitosan can be prepared as sustained released formulation.

The test results showed the correlation coefficient of job promotion to work motivation was 0.699, which means it is strong and in the same direction because it is positive. In addition, the coefficient of determination is 0.488 (48.8%) and the rest (51.2%) is influenced by other factors that are not included in the variables of this study. The regression equation (Y = 7.051 + 0.431X) shows that there is a positive influence between job promotions and employee motivation at PT. Beiersdorf Indonesia.

Abstract

Urban settlements where urban areas in Indonesia are known as urban villages are one of the distinctive characters of cities in Indonesia, especially in Java. Many urban villages are threatened with sustainability due to the impact of urban development. This research is one of the research models that examines the sustainability of urban villages in Yogyakarta, call it 'kampung kota'. Measurement of sustainability is carried out both from qualitative aspects, namely socio-economic observations, as well as quantitative aspects by measuring the value of Floor Area Ratio (FAR), Energy Consumption Intensity, and Mobility which consists of walkability and bikeability. The conclusion is that urban village life in Yogyakarta currently still has a good level of sustainability, for example in the FAR aspect which is still safe, and the level of mobility is walkable and bikeable. However, the life of the urban village faces a threat of sustainability with the intensity of energy consumption being quite wasteful and several socioeconomic aspects such as environmental conditions, government support, economic stability, and community initiatives. To be able to maintain the sustainability of a number of development efforts are needed to maintain the urban village so that it can remain sustainable.

Abstract

According to the Karo people, Solanum mauritianum Scop leaves are widely used as traditional medicine, which is used topically to treat sprains, wounds, and bruises because of their high phenol content. The purpose of this study was to identify the content of secondary metabolites (alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, steroids, triterpenoids, and glycosides) that inhibit the antibacterial activity of Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa by the diffusion method using paper discs from the ethanolic extract of Solanum mauritianum Scop leaves. The results of phytochemical screening showed that Solanum mauritianum Scop leaves were positive for alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, saponins, tannins, and steroids. Results The antibacterial activity test of the ethanolic extract of Solanum mauritianum Scop leaves showed effective results at a concentration of 80 mg/mL on Staphylococcus aureus with an inhibition zone diameter of 14.54 ± 0.13 mm. Meanwhile, Pseudomonas aeruginosa showed effective results at a concentration of 300 mg/mL with an inhibition zone diameter of 15.70 ± 0.09 mm. Both bacteria showed activity in the strong category. Conclusion The ethanolic extract of Solanum mauritianum Scop leaves has antibacterial activity against both test bacteria with a strong category
