Abstract

Waqf-based educational institutions are currently still in the "low" category, according to Indonesia's National Waqf Index (IWN) report. In this case, pesantren is an educational institution that was mostly established with waqf assets and has recently experienced fairly good development; pesantren are also categorized as waqf-based schools and were established by nadzir to waqf managers, currently totaling 26.23% of the total number of schools in Indonesia. This waqf-based school still has shortcomings in its management, as seen from its small development. The relatively low number of the National Waqf Index (IWN) occurs because philanthropists currently do not see good results from waqf management. Of the various purposes for which waqf assets are allocated, pesantren is one of the choices for which nadzir can endow their assets. However, there are still many obstacles found in management, and in general, they must be overcome by waqf managers. The method of analysis in this research uses descriptive literature analysis and primary data from semi-structured interviews in the in-depth interview category. Moreover, the results of the analysis found various important principles and steps of risk management according to Islam. They included the benefits of risk management for waqf-based pesantren by applying Islamic management and risk management. The implementation uses the principles of Islamic management and applies the initial planning stages of risk management. Pesantren must also follow the development of government schools so that they can compete and walk together for the advancement of education.

The economic independence of Pesantren is one of the essential elements to support the role of Pesantrenin in providing educational services to the community. With economic independence, pesantren have financial resources for infrastructure development, infrastructure facilities, land expansion, and human resource development. One Pesantren with good economic independence in Pati Regency is the Pesantren Maslakul Huda. To find out the strategy for strengthening the economic independence of Pesantren through Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), this research was carried out using a qualitative method. The data collection technique uses triangulation, and the data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model. The study results show that the Pesantren Maslakul Huda has an MSMEs-based business unit that plays a role in strengthening its economic independence. Through ten business units based on MSMEs, Pesantren-Owned Enterprises (BUMP) Maslakul Huda has succeeded in making a significant contribution to Pesantren's finances. The profit generated shows BUMP success in operating independently and providing crucial financial support for the operational needs of Islamic boarding schools, including for the development of infrastructure, facilities and infrastructure, human resource development, and others. Abstract

The existence of violence in the learning process is one of the factors that influences the comfort of each Santri. Nothing but the comfort of a Santri at Pesantren. Every learning process needs to pay attention to a child's rights and needs so that they can be met. Both in terms of security and comfort. The learning process must also proceed in a dignified and humane manner. However, the increasing violence that occurs in Pesantren is one of the reasons for the need to create Pesantren education that is child-friendly by ensuring safety and health. Therefore, this article aims to analyze the implementation of child-friendly Pesantren programs. This research uses a case study approach at the Pesantren Al-Anwar-4 Sarang and Alhamdulillah Kemadu Rembang. The analysis results show that child-friendly Pesantren can be achieved by implementing a positive discipline program for each Pesantren community, from caregivers, coaches, teachers, and Santri. As the learning process progresses, humanist teachers are the key to the success of child-friendly education in Pesantren by guiding Santri, motivating them, appreciating their strengths and weaknesses, and developing various new ideas and insights about learning along with developments in science and technology, as in the trials implemented at Al-Anwar-4 and Alhamdulillah by implementing positive discipline to prevent violence in Pesantren. This trial had a significant positive effect.

Abstract

Anti-religious radicalism means efforts to reject radical religious movements. The anti-religious radicalism movement requires synergy between elements of society, religious communities and the government. Pesantren which are often stigmatized as the basis of religious radicalism movements, need to fight this stigma. Therefore, it is hoped that the state will also have an anti-religious radicalism attitude, as seen in Law No. 18/2019 articles about Pesantren. This qualitative research uses a descriptive method with a normative juridical analysis approach. This article aims to understand the articles that support anti-religious radicalism in Law No. 18/2019. The state's partiality in supporting the anti-religious radicalism movement can be read from eight articles in Law No. 18/2019. These eight articles can become the basis for regulations that prevent the emergence of Pesantren as a basis for radical movements.

Abstract

As an educational institution where communities live and interact, Pesantren must enhance its independence and management development, food security, and economic initiatives to support the sustainability of its academic processes. This paper outlines the best management practices related to food security and economic development for Pesantren. The methodology employed is a case study of Pesantren Assa'adah in Cikeusal Serang, utilizing a literature review to provide a foundational basis for the analysis. The findings indicate that waste management concepts have been effectively carried out by processing both organic and inorganic waste. Additionally, automatic watering systems with soil moisture sensors have been deployed near fish ponds, ensuring plants receive the essential water elements efficiently. This system is powered by solar energy, making it an environmentally friendly option. Furthermore, the student (santri) consume livestock and agricultural products, demonstrating that the pesantren has a sustainable resource source, reducing daily accommodation expenses. Smart farming can also serve as a basis for educational tourism. From an economic standpoint, these practices are being developed, and further research is anticipated to enhance Pesantren's financial prospects.

Abstract

Pesantren has an important role in religious education and character-building for children. However, cases of uncovered violence in the Pesantren environment are still a concerning issue. This study aims to analyze the application of the Child-Friendly Pesantren concept as a model for protecting children from empowerment in the educational environment. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method. Data sources include books, journal articles, research reports, and other relevant documents published between 2019 and 2023, which were accessed through Google Scholar. The results of the study show that although Pesantren contributes greatly to moral education, there are still challenges in ensuring a safe environment for children. The Child-Friendly Pesantren concept, which includes strict supervision, a safe complaint mechanism, children’s rights education, psychological support, and periodic evaluations, has proven to be a solution that can reduce the risk of violence and harassment in Pesantren. The application of the Child-Friendly Pesantren framework not only supports child protection but can also be used as a role model for other educational environments to create a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly atmosphere. The implementation of the Child-Friendly Pesantren concept can effectively increase child protection in Pesantren and make Pesantren a role model in child protection in educational environments.

Abstract

The acceptance of prenuptial agreements presents contradictory issues among traditional Muslim communities that adhere to conventional Islamic values and modern Muslim communities that seek more comprehensive legal protection. This study aims to analyze these contradictions through the lens of fiqh sosial perspective, relating it to the applicable legal context to provide a thorough understanding of the relevance of these viewpoints in contemporary social and legal practices. Unlike previous research, this study highlights the fiqh sosial approach, positing that this perspective is pertinent in addressing the diverse community attitudes towards prenuptial agreements. The findings indicate that the fiqh sosial approach transcends texts of fiqh by emphasizing contextualization to meet the demands of modern times. In this context, prenuptial agreements can be seen as a way to reinterpret fiqh texts through a formal agreement, specifically through a written prenuptial agreement. Furthermore, prenuptial agreements can serve the public good in marriage practices in Indonesia by developing the kaidah fiqhiyyah “ad-daf'u aqwa min ar-raf'i” through asset protection and preventive measures against potential negative occurrences during the marriage.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the dialectics of Pegon script within traditional pesantren communities in Java. Using a sociolinguistic approach, the researcher collected data from seven traditional pesantren communities in Central Java and East Java: PP Roudhotut Tholibin Rembang, PP Roudhotut Thullab Magelang, PP Al Balagh Tuban, PP Fathul Ulum Kediri, LP Al Ma'arif NU Jepara, KOPISODA (Community of KH Sholeh Darat Lovers), and Rifa'iyyah Community Semarang. The findings of this study show that Pegon script in traditional pesantren communities in Java serves several functions, namely: as an identity for traditional pesantren in Java, as a symbol of resistance against colonizers and transnational Islamic movements, as a medium for the transmission of knowledge and the translation of classical Arabic texts, as a gateway for Arabic loanwords into Javanese, and as a preserver of religious traditions and old Javanese language. The preservation pattern of Pegon script in traditional pesantren communities in Java involves producing and disseminating Pegon texts, studying classical Turats using the method of Pegon translation, using Pegon texts as teaching materials, and encouraging community members to write using Pegon script. The motivations for preserving Pegon are as follows: spreading knowledge and preaching, seeking blessings from the righteous, meeting the demands of the community, seeking blessings from the letters of the Qur'an, and economic motivations.
