Abstract

Population growth after the crisis of 1998, was accompanied by a very encouraging economic growthreaching 6.3% during 2012. Accordingly, the development of the aviation industry continues to increase rapidly, this is evidenced by the emerging new airlines such as AW Air, Jatayu Air, Lion Air, Star Air which was followed by Batavia Air, Sriwijaya Air, Adam Air, Water Aerfata Papua, which makes the competition between one another takes place very tighty. Through the methods of qualitative and quantitative research design and analysis of rate of expansion which is explorative description, then it is clearly visible that only airlines with appropriate strategies that can survive in the midst of the world economic shocks, especially aviation fuel price increases that occurred every two weeks and the weakening of the rupiah against the dollar . The strategy implemented is related with fuel conservation policy; such as applying Cost Index, Tankering Fuel, Optimum Level Flight elections, focusing on flight technic and maintenance in order to improve efficiency in the use of fuel or aviation fuel, or even change the type of aircrafts.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze the evaluation of flight route policies, through program effectiveness, program adequacy, program distribution program that is enjoyed by all the aviation stakeholder and responsiveness and to recommend design improvement (roadmap) on flight route policies in accordance to the ASEAN Open Sky policy for the national carriers to be competitive. Research methods used are qualitative description with USG (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth) approach or Issue Priority Matrix, investigation result on the flight path policies evaluation. The research used purposive sampling technique to determine the informant. The study result provides an overview of the preparation of improvement actions based on program evaluation through the establishment of medium term roadmap which consists; a) Grand Design disposition that regulate Indonesian airspace as state asset that has strategic value, b) Development of route connectivity functions, where national carrier must develop Global Distribution System functions. These GDS functions must be enhanced to provide support for assisting the airlines distribution process, simplifying airlines ticket booking, and minimalizing investment cost. c) Assessment of all Civil Aviation Safety Regulation (CASR) associated with Air Traffic Management (ATM), as well as d) developing e-business functionality that provides support for services.

Abstract

Technological advances in the field of application-based ride service through smart mobile phones have caused rejection from conventional motorcycle ride service community. Based on the phenomenon, this research aims to find out the survival efforts from conventional motorcycle transportation service against app-based ride service through its management and services. The research method applied in this study was qualitative method using observation, structured interviews and documentation. The result of the study shows that conventional motorcycle tranportation is a non-professional service with minimal knowledge, making it unreliable. Thus, the effort taken to survive is in form of organization's management based on family values of harmony, solidarity and mutual cooperation. In fact, the conventional motorcycle transportation powerless action facing the competition with the app-based or online transportation service is not balanced. Aware of the situation, it is necessary for government to create policies and rules that guarantee the livelihood of its citizens and also for online motorcycle transportation companies’ stakeholders though the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities to embrace the conventional motorcycle transportation riders to be able to embody the values of social economic resilience in the community.
