Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of job sheets in electric motor installation subjects at SMK N 1 Sumatera Barat. This research is a pre-experimental design with intact-group comparison. The subjects of this study were class XII Electrical Power Installation Engineering, SMK N 1 Sumatera Barat in the 2023 / 2024 school year totaling 34 people. The data collection technique uses a performance assessment rubric consisting of an assessment of practice preparation, process implementation, results, occupational safety and health, attitude, and practice reports with scoring using a Likert scale. The data analysis technique used is the analysis of learners' skills completeness, the Maan Whitney test, and effect size analysis. The results showed that the application of job sheets in terms of students' skills completeness was in the effective category, then in terms of differences in students' skills learning outcomes, it was also categorized as effective, and in terms of Effect Size analysis was in the large category and also declared effective. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the Electric Motor Installation1 job sheet is effective for improving student learning outcomes in Electric Motor Installation learning.

Abstract

This research aims to create a learning e-module themed "Fundamentals of Electricity Engineering" especially on elements 5 and 7, for class X students in the Electricity Engineering department. This e-module is designed to improve the quality of learning, teaching, and the learning process in the subject. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) by adapting the 4-D development model. As the name 4D implies, this model has four stages of development: define, design, develop, and disseminate. Data needs were obtained through observations, interviews, and questionnaires given to teachers and students of class X Electricity Engineering. This e-module is designed by following the principles of learning design that are interesting, interactive, and following the characteristics of students. The e-module is equipped with images and videos to facilitate understanding complex concepts. After the e-module was developed, a limited trial was conducted with several students in Class X Electricity Engineering to evaluate the feasibility of this e-module. The data obtained from the trial were analyzed, and the results showed that the learning e-module "Fundamentals of Electricity Engineering" received a score of "very valid" from the approver and "very practical" from teachers and students. Thus, the learning e-module "Fundamentals of Electricity Engineering" can be used as a learning tool. Thus, this learning e-module, "Fundamentals of Electricity Engineering" is expected to be an effective alternative for improving the quality of learning in class X Electricity Engineering. Using e-modules is expected to help students understand learning materials and improve learning achievement.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to increase students' knowledge and skills in learning microcontroller programming in the subject of microprocessor and microcontroller programming at SMK Negeri 1 Koto XI Tarusan. This research was carried out in class XI TAV at SMK Negeri 1 Koto XI Tarusan on the subject of microprocessor and microcontroller programming. Observations in class XI TAV at this vocational school show that there are still many students who do not fully understand the concept of microcontroller technology. In addition, students' responses to microcontroller material also showed a lack of interest, which was reflected in the lack of enthusiasm in following microprocessor and microcontroller programming lessons. This research was implemented through an experimental and control approach, with research subjects consisting of students of class XI TAV 1 and class TAV 2 at SMK Negeri 1 Koto XI Tarusan. Data collection in this research was carried out using a questionnaire as a test instrument. The selection of experimental and control classes was carried out randomly. The data obtained from this study were then analyzed through various methods, including validity, reliability, learning completeness, practicality, normality, homogeneity, t-test, and effect size tests. The results of the questionnaire data analysis showed a very high level of validity and reliability, student learning completeness reached an adequate level, the practicality of learning was considered very practical, while the results of the normality, homogeneity, t-test, and effect size tests showed significance and normal data distribution.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the evaluation of students' competence in implementing PLK in electrical engineering majors to support the achievement of PLK goals and describe the differences in teaching competence of these students with other students who carry out PLK in different places but in the same city, namely Padang City. Education students at UNP are prepared to become competent and professional teacher candidates so that students are equipped from the start with the implementation of an educational field practice program by mastering various materials regarding education as a whole. Therefore the implementation of the PLK program needs to be evaluated for better program development. This research uses a quantitative approach with the type of evaluation research using the Goal Oriented Evaluation Model. The object of this research is the teaching competence of students. The subjects of this study were UNP Electrical Engineering Education students class of 2019 who had completed PLK. This research instrument uses a questionnaire. Based on the questionnaire data analysis results in terms of the four aspects of the assessment. From the results of the calculation of the frequency distribution of the 4 aspects of competency assessment, it can be seen that the pedagogical, personality and social competencies of students are in the very good category, while the professional competence is in the good category. In addition, there is no significant difference between the teaching competencies of students who carry out PLK majoring in electricity in the city of Padang.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of applying the Team Assisted Individualization method as a learning method in the class XII TITIL electric lighting installation subject at SMKN 5 Padang. In the learning process of the Electric Lighting Installation subject, the method used is still monotonous and does not increase students' interest in learning so that students' understanding of the learning material is very minimal. The Team Assisted Individualization learning method is suitable for this subject because through the application of the Team Assisted Individualization Method, students with various characteristics can be better accommodated. They can gain a deeper understanding, improve social and collaborative skills, and get personalized support tailored to their needs. This study used a quantitative approach with the one group pretest-posttest design method. The object of this research is Team Assisted Individualization and the effectiveness of its application to learning outcomes in the Electrical Lighting Installation subject. The subjects in this study were students of class XII TITL 2 at SMKN 5 Padang. The research instrument used was in the form of pretest and posttest questions in the form of objectives. Based on the average posttest score, it is in the high category. Therefore the application of Team Assisted Individualization as a learning method in the subject of electric lighting installation is said to be effective because the classical completeness score and effect size are in the high category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the video-assisted Problem-Based Learning model as a learning model in the subject of Basic Electrical and Electronics class X TITL at SMK Negeri 5 Padang. Learning theory, especially in learning measuring instruments and electrical test equipment, problems are often found in the process of measuring and reading measuring instruments. Problem-based learning is very suitable for use in this study so that students are accustomed to solving possible problems that occur in everyday life with the use of measuring instruments. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest and posttest design. The object of this research is Problem-Based Learning and the effectiveness of video-assisted Problem-based learning on learning outcomes in the basic subjects of electricity and electronics. The subjects in this study were students of class X TITL 1 SMKN 5 Padang. The research instrument used was in the form of pretest and posttest questions in the form of objective questions. Based on the posttest average score is in the high category. Therefore, the application of the video-assisted Problem-Based Learning model as a learning model in the basic subjects of electricity and electronics is said to be effective because the classical value and effect size are in the high category.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of the application of the Project-Based Learning Model on the subject of Electrical Lighting Installation at SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat. his study uses experimental research methods. The research design used is a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. This design involves one group being given a pretest (O1), given treatment (X), and given a posttest (O2). The research subjects were students of class XI TITL 2 SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat for the academic year 2023/2024. The first measurement was carried out before the subjects were given treatment and the second measurement was after the subjects were treated. The results showed that the application of the Project-Based Learning Model in the class XI TITL 2 Electrical Lighting Installation subject at SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat can improve student learning outcomes. These results can be seen from the realm of knowledge, namely the results of the pretest and posttest which were analyzed using the N-Gain Score formula into the moderate category and using completeness learning outcomes increase from medium to very high categories. With the acquisition of these data, it can be concluded that the application of the Project-Based Learning Model improves student learning outcomes in the XI TITL 2 students is greatly improved in the Electrical Lighting Installation subject.

Abstract

This research describes the job readiness of the Electrical Power Installation Engineering Department graduates of Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Negeri 1 Padang. Work readiness is a person's overall condition, including physical, mental, and life experiences, as well as the willingness and ability to carry out work or an activity. The research method used in this research is a descriptive research method with a quantitative approach. The variable studied was the work readiness of graduates majoring in Electrical Power Installation Engineering at SMK Negeri 1 Padang. The research instrument used in this research is a questionnaire distributed to respondents online using a Google form with 1 variable and 6 indicators. This research questionnaire was conducted on graduates of the 2022/2023 academic year in Electrical Power Installation Engineering, totaling 30 respondents and the results obtained were 20 respondents with good work readiness results. The research results can conclude that the work readiness of graduates for the 2022/2023 academic year majoring in Electrical Power Installation Engineering at SMK Negeri 1 Padang is in a good category.

Abstract

Work readiness is the overall condition of an individual which includes physical, mental and experience life, as well as the willingness and ability to carry out work or an activity. The research method used in this research is a descriptive research method with a quantitative approach. The variable studied was the work readiness of students in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering skills program at SMK Negeri 1 West Sumatra. The research instrument used in this research is a questionnaire distributed to respondents directly which has 1 variable and 7 indicators. This research questionnaire was conducted on class The results of this research can be concluded that the work readiness of students majoring in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering at SMK Negeri 1 West Sumatra is categorized as quite good.

Abstract

This study aims to produce job sheet learning media that have been tested for feasibility through validity, practicality and effectiveness tests as a support in implementing practicum in the subject of Smart Relay-based Electric Motor Installation. This research was conducted on class XII students of SMK Negeri 5 Padang. This research phase uses the Research & Development (R&D) method, with a 4-D (Four-D) development model. The research data were obtained from instrument sheets or questionnaires to test validity and practicality, as well as performance sheets in the form of rubrics to test effectiveness. The data analysis technique in this study is descriptive quantitative. The results of the validity test of the Smart Relay-based Electric Motor Installation Practicum Job sheet are declared in the valid category. The results of the job sheet practicality test based on the responses from the Electric Motor Installation subject teacher were stated in the very practical category, and the practicality test results based on student responses were stated in the very practical category. The results of the job sheet effectiveness test stated that the job sheet was effective based on student learning outcomes in the very good category.
