Abstract

The lecturer's performance management model in carrying out their duties must have a well-planned understanding of the teaching and learning process. Lecturers establish strategies, methods, and media to implement effective learning processes, thus enabling learning objectives to be achieved. The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of the lecturer performance management model in improving cadet achievement. The research is quantitative. The research subjects are lecturers and cadets. The sample set consists of 30 cadets selected using the Accidental Sampling method. The data collection technique is done through questionnaires. The results obtained from the research indicate that the lecturer performance management model influences cadet learning achievement, there is a relationship between lecturer performance management and cadet learning outcomes at the Maritime Academy Belawan Medan.

Abstract

The impact of global economic growth is reflected in commodity price fluctuations and the intensive transportation needs, particularly for LNG. The Sustainable Development Goals focus on carbon emissions until 2050 drives an increase in the demand for LNG as a clean energy source. In the context of international trade, LNG carriers through maritime routes serve as the primary means for export and import, fulfilling the need for efficient transportation. Additionally, the construction process of LNG vessels takes a considerable amount of time, with ships being ordered based on global LNG transactions. Therefore, precise estimates are crucial to support economic benefits. Through the projection of LNG trade volumes, this research aims to provide insights into the potential demand for LNG carriers. Predictions using linear regression analysis for each route indicate the potential for capacity increases up to 134% by 2042. Such conditions are in line with the projected LNG supply, expected to continuously rise until 2040 to meet the demand in both industrial and electricity sectors. These results are projected for each type of LNG carrier, where Conventional vessels are anticipated to increase significantly by up to 599 new ships. Specifically, this study offers an in-depth perspective on the dynamics of global LNG trade and potential projections of future ship requirements, opening opportunities for facility development and business process modifications in the context of LNG transportation.

Abstract

For some marine cadets in vocational high school, one of the difficulties in learning English is listening, whereas the students lack concentration, understanding, and vocabulary. Employing suitable learning methods that will help the students improve their skills in listening is expected to overcome the student’s lack of concentration, understanding and vocabulary. In this research, the researchers will find out whether total physical response and paraphrasing as learning methods can improve cadets’ listening skills. A qualitative method was used in this research, involving sixty marine cadets as the respondents. The finding revealed that both methods Total Physical Response and Paraphrasing have a significant impact on the development of Maritime English teaching materials for shipping cadets, with some improvement on indicators that should be added to enhance The Maritime English teaching materials.

Abstract

Demurrage or the cost of more time loading and unloading goods at the port is an undesirable additional cost for ship agency companies. This study aims to evaluate the policies and procedures for loading and unloading goods at three ship agency companies, namely PT Karisma Indah Lestari and PT Dasa Karindo Utama in the Tanjung Emas Port area of Semarang to prevent demurrage costs. This study used a qualitative approach with purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, direct observation, documentation studies, and literature studies related to loading and unloading activities. The results showed that the main causes of demurrage were document delays, container turnover, additional cargo volumes, to complicated administration. The policy evaluation indicated the need for improvement of standard operating procedures, coordination between stakeholders, and internal supervision to ensure the loading and unloading process was effective and timely according to the agreement. The recommendations given were a revision of stevedoring policies and procedures that are more measurable, improved coordination across sectors, additional supporting facilities and infrastructure, and strengthened operational supervision in the field.

Abstract

In the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, digitalization has changed the logistics business significantly. Impact analysis is revealed through improved operational efficiency, better supply chain visibility, and innovation in services. The implementation of technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), big data analytics, and artificial intelligence has enabled logistics companies to optimize inventory management, track shipments in real time, and predict supply needs. The purpose of this research is to assist companies in the logistics industry in managing inventory, processing orders, monitoring supplier status, and various other operational activities. The writing method used is qualitative with a literature review approach. The data used in the study are secondary data collected from various articles. Therefore, it is expected that the adoption of digital platforms and smart transportation management systems will facilitate collaboration between stakeholders in the supply chain, increase transparency, and reduce logistics costs. While there are substantial benefits, challenges related to data security and technology integration also need to be addressed. Therefore, the analysis of the impact of digitalization on the logistics business in the era of Revolution 4.0 reflects a fundamental shift towards more efficient operations and adaptation to evolving market demands.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is, to find out how the effect of using a digitization system in handling import documents on time efficiency at PT. Mitra Segara Cargo Semarang. In this study, the method used is a descriptive qualitative method, with a qualitative approach. The results of this study show that the import document digitization system used at the PT Mitra Segara Cargo Semarang company shows that the use of import document digitization has a role in the efficiency of work time to redeem DO more efficiently 2 hours 9 minutes, EIR Job Order is more efficient 28 minutes, lift off empty payment is more efficient 1 hour 12 minutes, and container repair payment is more efficient 25 minutes. To improve EMKL services, especially for the expenditure of imported goods, competence can be further improved for HR (human resources) in terms of the accuracy of import documents. Furthermore, this research is expected to be able to develop a digitization system in the management of documents in export and import trade, especially for import documents so it is expected that the digitization system can be more efficient in time and faster for the management of import documents carried out by PT. Mitra Segara Cargo Semarang.

Abstract

The phenomenon currently faced by fishermen is not only about the large potential of fish in Kendal Regency but also the problem of marketing fishermen's catches. Due to the perishable nature of fishery products, marketing has a big influence on fishermen's income. The decline in the quality of marine products is a result of poor marketing distribution channels, so the selling price will fall and the income of fishermen in the Kendal community will decrease. Apart from that, if the fish is not fresh, the middlemen don't want to buy it so the fish doesn't sell. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out research regarding fish marketing to increase fishermen's income. The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze whether the marketing mix has a significant influence on increasing the productivity of fish catches in the Kendal coastal community and find out how much influence the marketing mix has on increasing the productivity of the fish catch in the Kendal coastal community). The type of method used in this research is quantitative, where the number of respondents or samples taken was 50 fishermen out of 100 fishermen. The data collection used was the questionnaire method. The results of the discussion, show that "There is an influence of the marketing mix (X) on increasing the productivity of fish catches (Y)". where the significance value (Sig.) is 0.004 (smaller than the probability value of 0.05), this means that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Meanwhile, the magnitude of the influence of noodle marketing, both in terms of product, price, distribution and promotional methods, has an 82.7% increase in fish catch productivity, shown by an R Square of 0.827.

Abstract

The main diesel engine is a main propulsion engine that functions to move the ship. Diesel engines include the type of internal combustion engine (internal combustion engine). The combustion ignition process is carried out by spraying fuel into pressurised and high-temperature air due to compression. An injector is a device used to fog fuel. The purpose of this study is to obtain optimal parameters for the performance of the injector's working pressure. The methods used in this study are experimental and modelling. The data obtained are spray angle, length, time, and number of particles sprayed. The method used in this study is by testing injectors experimentally and simulating using CFD software. The injector input pressure parameters are 280, 300, and 320 bar while the nozzle diameter is 0.3 mm. The data obtained on the ship was then tested experimentally and simulated. In this study, there were 3 injector parameters tested. The test results of the three parameters on the injector obtained optimum data, namely at a working pressure of 320 bar nozzle diameter of 0.3 mm resulting in a spray angle of 14o, spray length of 100 mm with the fastest time of 0.00143 seconds to produce a speed of 69930.07 mm / s. The number of particles produced is 1.185071x103, so the fogging process is perfect (bursts evenly in all directions) and the temperature of the cylinder exhaust gas is 340-3600C.

Abstract

Arriving Vessel Document Inspection System (Si-PDKT) is a web-based application that is implemented by utilizing information technology as a supporting tool for optimizing memorandum services in the process of inspecting arriving ship documents at the Class II Cirebon Harbormaster and Port Authority Office. The purpose of developing the Si-PDKT application that will be implemented in KSOP Class II Cirebon Section Legal Status and Ship Certification is more efficient management of ship data, digitally stored ship documents, avoiding document loss, facilitating the management of ship transactions, conducting validation and verification quickly . The method used is development research. In development research, a system design is carried out which is carried out in several stages based on an analysis of the needs of the system to be used. The stages are divided into 3 main stages, namely infrastructure requirements, system creation, and application usage. The research results show that the Si-PDKT that was built can be accessed at the address https://sipdkt.ksopcirebon.id. The stages of using Si-PDKT are 1. creating an account via email, 2. the user uploads the company decree, 3. after being verified the user changes the profile, 4. on the company data menu, the user can choose the company where he works, 5. on the ship data menu, the user can add ships, 6. on the menu data memo-in contains the ship's data along with the documents and the memo-in. 7. If it has been filled in, a memo-in history will appear. At the end of verification from the operator, a verification status will appear where there is a color change following the verification status, and if you click on verification, the verification history will appear. If it has been verified as final, then the Memo In document can be downloaded

Abstract

This research examines the problem of the high number of ship accidents, where the most significant causal factor is human error. Based on the results of research on previous research, it is known that the human error factor is caused by several things, one of which is work boredom. The research was conducted using a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. To obtain the research data, the researcher used semi-structured interview techniques and reviewed various previous studies related to the research theme being carried out. The results of the study state that increasing work saturation will cause seafarers' work productivity to decrease, but if the work saturation experienced at sea is lower, then the work productivity of the seafarers will increase.
