Aksara merupakan jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Batanghari dan Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Batanghari. Jurnal ini merupakan jurnal penelitian yang mempublikasikan artikel hasil penelitian asli, studi kepustakaan, dan tulisan terkait dengan fokus pada kajian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, kajian bahasa dan kajian sastra. Semua artikel ditinjau oleh 4 orang reviewer, 2 orang reviewer internal dan 2 orang reviewer eksternal. Jurnal ini diterbitkan dua kali dalam satu tahun setiap bulan April dan bulan September, jurnal aksara ini dapat diakses pembaca, jurnal aksara ini berisi hasil penelitian pustaka maupun hasil penelitian lapangan. Jurnal ini meliputi beberapa ranah Ilmu sebagai berikut: 1. Kajian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia meliputi bidang pembelajaran keterampilan berbahasa, pembelajaran linguistik, pembelajaran semantik, pembelajaran pragmatik, pembelajaran wacana, pembelajaran sosiolinguistik, pembelajaran psikolinguistik serta pembelajaran puisi, pembelajaran prosa, pembelajaran fiksi, pembelajaran drama. 2. Kajian Bahasa Indonesia meliputi: fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, analisis wacana, semantik, pragmatik, sosiolinguistik, psikolinguistik, bahasa dan budaya, dialektologi, dokumentasi bahasa, serta bidang keilmuan lain yang berkaitan dengan kajian kebahasaan. 3. Kajian Sastra Indonesia meliputi: sastra lisan dan sastra modern berupa kajian puisi, prosa fiksi dan drama.

Abstract

Metaphor is one of the language styles often used in literary works to beautify and enrich the meaning. The proper use of metaphors can make literary works more interesting and easily understood by readers. This study aims to describe the character of the protagonist in the novel Ganjil Genap by Almira Bastari. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The data in this study are in the form of sentence quotations in which there are characters of the protagonist Gala in the novel Ganjil Genap by Almira Bastari. The approach that the author uses in this research is a structural approach. The results of this study can be concluded that there are findings in the form of quotations related to 4 aspects of metaphorical language style in the novel Tulisan Sastra by Tenderlova. The four aspects are (1) anthropomorphic, (2) animalistic, (3) abstract and (4) synesthetic. From these four aspects, 51 quotations were found about the form of metaphorical language style. The most dominant quotation found in the novel Tulisan Sastra by Tenderlova is the anthropomorphic metaphor as many as 18 quotations, and the least found is the animalistic metaphor as many as 9 quotations. This research is expected to make a scientific contribution to the field of linguistics, especially in the field of pragmatics. The results of this study are expected to help readers to understand the deeper meaning of the novel "Literary Writing" by Tenderlova.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the influence of documentary video media on the writing abilities of eighth-grade students at SMP Al-Hikmah Medan during the academic year 2017-2018. The research was conducted at SMP Al-Hikmah Medan with a population of 59 students from two classes, all of whom were included in the research sample. Class VIII 2 was designated as the experimental group, while Class VIII 1 served as the control group. This research utilized an experimental method, a technique designed to reveal clear facts about the phenomena under investigation. The data collection tool employed was a written test. The writing abilities of biographies using documentary video media in the experimental class were deemed good, as 13 students (43.33%) fell within the 80-100 range, 13 students (43.33%) achieved a "very good" rating, 15 students (50%) attained a "good" rating, and 2 students (6.66%) received a "less satisfactory" rating. In contrast, the writing abilities of biographies without the use of documentary video media were less satisfactory, with 17 students (58.6%) falling within the 40-45 range. Based on the test results, it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students recommended to use documentary video media were higher compared to those who did not use such media in their biography writing abilities in the eighth grade at SMP Al-Hikmah Medan during the academic year 2017-2018. This conclusion is supported by the results of hypothesis testing, where t-value > t-table, specifically 2.22 > 1.532, indicating that Ho (null hypothesis) is rejected and Ha (alternative hypothesis) is accepted. This means that there is an influence of using documentary video media as a learning model on the writing abilities of eighth-grade students at SMP Al-Hikmah Medan during the academic year 2017-2018.

Abstract

This research was motivated by finding moral values in the film Hello Ghost by Kim Young Tak (Content Analysis Study). This research aims to explain moral values related to human-human relationships in the form of aspects of caring for others, aspects of mutual help, aspects of deliberation, aspects of living in harmony, aspects of forgiveness, aspects of keeping promises, and aspects of respecting other people. It is hoped that this can convey various deep messages to change human thinking patterns. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, namely analyzing data in the form of words related to human behavior which describes moral values in aspects of human relations in the film Hello Ghost by Kim Young Tak. The author got the research data from dialogue quotes in films with the aspects to be studied. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it is obtained from the quotation data for the aspect of caring for others as many as 29 quotations, the aspect of helping each other as many as 10 quotations, the aspect of deliberation as many as 2 quotations, the aspect of living in harmony as many as 2 quotations, the aspect of forgiveness as many as 3 quotations, the aspect of keeping promises as many as 4 quotations, and appreciate others as many as 8 quotes. The aspect of moral values that is more dominant in this film is caring for others and the aspect that is found less in this film is the aspect of living in harmony and deliberation. The moral values in this film are the solution to various problems. The moral values that the author obtains can be used as an example in everyday life.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of tongue twister training on pronunciation improvement in people with rhotacism using single-subject research (SSR) experimental method. The study involved 7 research subjects and was conducted over a span of 9 days. Data was collected through video and audio recordings of the subjects while they were doing tongue twister exercises. The data collection techniques used were recorded observation techniques and listening-writing techniques. Data analysis was conducted using a qualitative comparative analysis approach. The results showed that the tongue twister exercise positively affected the subjects' pronunciation ability. The subjects showed improvement in pronunciation clarity and accuracy after the practice period. The findings underscore the potential of tongue twister exercises as an effective method in helping individuals with rhotacism improve their pronunciation. This study provides new insights into the treatment of rhotacism, emphasizing the importance of qualitative approaches and fixed comparison analysis in understanding the impact of therapeutic interventions. The practical implications include the development of more individualized and effective speech therapy programs for people with rhotacism.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of phonological disorders and the causes of language disorders in children aged 7 years with oral apraxia. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Qualitative descriptive is used to analyze and develop data that researchers get from research sites. The subject of this study was a 7 years old child who suffered from oral apraxia with the initials NP. The research data is in the form of speech between the subject and the speech partner. The techniques used are interviews, observations, listening, and notes. The theory used is the theory of phonology and syllables. The results of the study showed that children aged 7 years with oral apraxia experienced some form of cognitive phonological disturbance, namely phoneme pronunciation disorders in the form of phoneme deletion and phoneme changes. Researchers also found factors that cause language disorders in children with verbal apraxia, namely internal factors and external factors.

Abstract

This research was motivated by finding moral values in the film Ngeri-ngeri-Sedap by Bene Dion. This research aims to describe the moral values in the film Ngeri-ngeri Sedap by Bene Dion. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method.  Quotation data was analyzed based on theory and was used as a theoretical basis for analyzing this research. This type of descriptive, qualitative research is used as a way to describe the moral values contained in the film Ngeri-ngeri Sedap by Bene Dion. The results of this research can be described that the film Ngeri-ngeri Sedap by Bene Dion contains the moral values of the aspects of caring for others, helping each other, deliberating, forgiving and respecting others. The number of findings used as data in the form of quotes about moral values was 72 quotes. From the results of this research, it can be seen that the film Ngeri-ngeri Sedap by Bene Dion contains moral values that can be used as viewing material for the public and as material for moral education in schools.

Abstract

This research discusses the analysis of punctuation errors in the essays of class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Sumbawa Besar. The aim of this research is to describe errors in the use of punctuation marks in the essays of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Sumbawa Besar. The method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The data collection technique used in this research is by explaining the types of essays to students, then collecting essays resulting from student assignments, then analyzing errors in the use of punctuation marks in these essays. The results of the research showed that there were 20 errors in the use of punctuation marks from the 25 students' essays collected, punctuation marks which dominated errors in periods were 10 errors, commas were 9 errors and quotation marks were 1 error.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the use of deixis forms in the film Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini karya Marchella. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data in this research is in the form of dialogue utterances in which there is the use of person deixis, place deixis, and time deixis in the film Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini karya Marchella. The results of this research can be concluded that there are findings in the form of utterances related to the 3 forms of deixis in the film Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini karya Marchella. The three forms of deixis are (1) Persona Deixis, (2) Place Deixis, and (3) Time Deixis. Of the three forms of deixis, 242 utterances were found that contained the use of deixis. The most dominant quotation found in this film is the use of person deixis in 212 utterances, and the least found is place deixis in 9 utterances.

Abstract

The aim of research on the shift and maintenance of the Siulak dialect of the Kerinci language in Siulak Mukai District, Kerinci Regency, is to describe the form of shift and maintenance of the Siulak dialect of the Kerinci language. This research is motivated by the frequent use of Indonesian and other regional languages in greetings. The type of research used is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data source is speech expressed by the people of Siulak Mukai subdistrict. Data acquisition techniques were carried out using observation and interview techniques. The data analysis technique consists of two activities that take place simultaneously, namely data reduction and data presentation. The results of the research show that there has been a shift in the Kerinci language to the Siulak dialect in Siulak Mukai District due to social factors and current developments.

Abstract

This study examines the analysis of language errors in report texts for 7th grade junior high school (SMP) students. The background of this research is what forms of language errors often occur in student report texts and why students still experience language errors when writing scientific papers such as reports. The purpose of this study was to examine the analysis of students' academic writing errors. own terminology. The data collection technique of this research is direct observation and analysis of the report text obtained. the results of the discussion found several language errors in the fields of phonology, morphology, semantics, syntax. language errors that occur in the report text of grade 7 junior high school students are caused by the low writing and reading skills of students. As well as the low mastery of student vocabulary so that there are several forms of writing that are wrong and not in accordance with the Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI). Conclusions can be written in paragraph form. The level of accuracy and neatness of students in writing report texts is also very influential on the final results of their writing later.
