Aksara merupakan jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Batanghari dan Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Batanghari. Jurnal ini merupakan jurnal penelitian yang mempublikasikan artikel hasil penelitian asli, studi kepustakaan, dan tulisan terkait dengan fokus pada kajian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, kajian bahasa dan kajian sastra. Semua artikel ditinjau oleh 4 orang reviewer, 2 orang reviewer internal dan 2 orang reviewer eksternal. Jurnal ini diterbitkan dua kali dalam satu tahun setiap bulan April dan bulan September, jurnal aksara ini dapat diakses pembaca, jurnal aksara ini berisi hasil penelitian pustaka maupun hasil penelitian lapangan. Jurnal ini meliputi beberapa ranah Ilmu sebagai berikut: 1. Kajian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia meliputi bidang pembelajaran keterampilan berbahasa, pembelajaran linguistik, pembelajaran semantik, pembelajaran pragmatik, pembelajaran wacana, pembelajaran sosiolinguistik, pembelajaran psikolinguistik serta pembelajaran puisi, pembelajaran prosa, pembelajaran fiksi, pembelajaran drama. 2. Kajian Bahasa Indonesia meliputi: fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, analisis wacana, semantik, pragmatik, sosiolinguistik, psikolinguistik, bahasa dan budaya, dialektologi, dokumentasi bahasa, serta bidang keilmuan lain yang berkaitan dengan kajian kebahasaan. 3. Kajian Sastra Indonesia meliputi: sastra lisan dan sastra modern berupa kajian puisi, prosa fiksi dan drama.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify and classify the forms and functions of directive speech acts in the characters' dialogues. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type because it focuses on the analysis of non-numerical data from the film, in the form of speech and visuals. The main focus of the study includes the forms and functions of directive speech acts that appear in the characters' dialogues. The research data were obtained from the dialogues or speeches of the characters in the film, while the source of the research data was the film Rumah untuk Alie by Lenn Liu, produced by Falcon Pictures and released on the digital platform Netflix in 2025. The data collection techniques used included listening and note-taking techniques. The results of the study show that directive speech acts in the film “Rumah untuk Alie” consist of several forms and functions. In the directive declarative form, five functions were found, namely the request function of 16 data, the command function of 3 data, the prohibition function of 10 data, the permission function of 5 data, and the suggestion function of 9 data. The interrogative form has four functions, namely the request function of 6 data, the question function of 89 data, the command function of 1 data, and the prohibition function of 1 data. Meanwhile, the imperative form found five functions, namely the request function of 29 data, the command function of 21 data, the prohibition function of 7 data, the permission function of 1 data, and the suggestion function of 5 data.

Abstract

This study is grounded in the limited availability of independent learning media for students of the Business Administration Department at Politeknik Negeri Bali in enhancing their communication skills. The occurrence of code-mixing in language use has been identified as a factor that may result in unprofessional communication practices. This study aims to determine the extent of the need for developing an electronic pocket book of Indonesian lexical equivalents for students of the Business Administration Department at Politeknik Negeri Bali. The research adopts a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through a questionnaire and obtained using purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive quantitative methods. The findings indicate that the development of an electronic pocket book (e-pocket book) is highly necessary to address the limitations of existing learning media and to support the improvement of communication skills among Business Administration students at Politeknik Negeri Bali

Abstract

This research aims to map the values of character education contained in the novel Negeri 5 Menara by Ahmad Fuadi as a literary work representing pesantren-based character education. The novel portrays the process of character formation of students at Pondok Madani through learning experiences, discipline, religiosity, togetherness, and perseverance, which are encapsulated in the motto Man Jadda Wajada. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a content analysis approach. The data sources consist of the novel Negeri 5 Menara as the primary data and books, journal articles, as well as relevant previous studies as secondary data. Data collection techniques include intensive reading, systematic note-taking, and data classification based on indicators of character education values. Data analysis is conducted by classifying textual quotations into value categories and interpreting them based on character education theory and the socio-cultural context of the pesantren. The findings indicate that the novel Negeri 5 Menara contains seven main character education values, namely religiosity, hard work, discipline, social values, responsibility, moral values, and independence. These values are internalized through characters, events, conflicts, and the pesantren educational culture consistently depicted in the novel. The conclusion of this study shows that Negeri 5 Menara contains comprehensive, contextual, and relevant character education values, making it suitable to be used as literary teaching material to support the strengthening of character education in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the changes in the expanded meaning of netizens' comments on Fiersa Besari's Instagram account (@fiersabesari). This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method. The results of the study indicate that the expansion of expanded mea ning occurs in netizens' comments on the Indonesian artist's Instagram social media account. This expansion of meaning most likely occurs as a result of increasingly rapid technological and modern developments. Netizens as language users are also influenced by the conditions that occur around them. In addition, changes in expanded meaning also show that language is static and not dynamic. There are several characteristics that language has, namely language can live and continue to develop if the language is continuously used by its users and language can change its meaning according to the wishes of its users. In other words, there are no boundaries in language, which means language is able to develop and change according to the needs of its users. This phenomenon of changing meaning is also a concrete example that language does experience development and language is arbitrary.

Abstract

This study aims to describe perlocutionary speech acts in Webseries Radit, which was broadcast on Raditya Dika's YouTube channel in 2021. This study examines how language functions in digital interactions, focusing on six perlocutionary functions according to Leech (1993): persuading, encouraging, frightening, comforting, deceiving, and entertaining. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with pragmatic analysis. Data were obtained from 17 episodes through listening techniques and recording relevant utterances. The results showed 77 perlocutionary data with a predominance of persuading and encouraging functions, confirming that persuasive strategies are more frequently used in interactions between characters. This finding confirms the role of perlocutionary effects in digital communication and opens up opportunities for further research on web series with different characteristics.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the pervasive dominance of contemporary materialistic culture which creates the phenomenon of simulacra, where transcendental values are often obscured by shallow imagery that has lost its referential reference to the divine. In response to this spiritual crisis, this study aims to uncover the systematic construction of religiosity in the classic poem Ayya Man Yadda’il Fahm by Al-Hariri through the triadic semiotic approach of Charles Sanders Peirce. The research method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach utilizing the interactive model analysis procedure of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results show that the sign mechanism in the poem is massively dominated by Index signs which have physical causality relationships, particularly within the indicators of Piety (Takwa) and Repentance (Tobat). Al-Hariri strategically utilizes biological "bluffing" through irrefutable existential facts, such as the appearance of gray hair as a sign of aging and the absolute certainty of death, to force the reader into an immediate confrontation with eschatological reality. The research conclusion confirms that the dominance of these indexical signs functions as an effective social critique instrument to dismantle the simulacra of modern culture through a profound spiritual shock effect. This approach provides a more precise and scientific analytical depth than previous stylistic or linguistic studies because it is capable of dissecting how the triadic sign structure—Representament, Object, and Interpretant—transforms mortal biological objects into a semiotic means to understand the eternal Essence of Allah. Therefore, this study offers a new perspective in understanding classical Arabic literature as a relevant medium for contemporary character education and spiritual awakening.

Abstract

This research is motivated by deviant behaviour that is still widely found, especially among teenagers. Based on these problems, the purpose of this study is to describe the religious value in the novel The Haze Inside by Aiu Ahra and the implication for Indonesia Language learning in high school. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques in the form of careful observation and note-taking techniques. The results showed the existence of religious values in the novel The Haze Inside by Aiu Ahra, including: aspects of faith (tauhid), including faith in Allah, and piety to Allah; aspects of life norms (fiqh), including haram, makruh, and sunat; and aspects of behavioral attitudes (morals), including tawakal, honesty, and discipline. This study also shows that the novel The Haze Inside by Aiu Ahra can be utilized as teaching material in Indonesian language learning because it meets the criteria for ideal teaching material selection, namely language aspect, psychological, and cultural background.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, and evaluation of indonesia language learning as a form of the implementation of the merdeka curriculum in grade XI of MAN 1 BIMA. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of document study, observation, and assessment of atudents’ activeness in the classroom. The research findings are classified into three main aspects, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation og learning. The results show that learning planningis realized in the form of teaching modules prepared by the teacher, which obtained an average score of 82,35 in the “Very Good” category. This achieevement indicates that the developed teaching modules have met most of the assessment components and were prepared with good quality, making them appropriate and in accordance with the established standards for use in the learning process. In the aspect of learning implementation, an average score of 70,90 was obtained in the “Good” category. These results indicate that the teacher’s performance in carrying out learning activities has been good and in line with the assessment indicators used. Meanwhile, learning evaluation obtained an average score of 71,43 in the “Often/cleary observed” category, which shows that students are generally active in the learning process, although there are still some learning activities that have not been fully implemented by all students

Abstract

The tradition of hair-cutting (cukur rambut) is a cultural heritage that is still preserved by the Malay community in Rambah Samo Barat Village, Rokan Hulu Regency. This study aims to analyze the functions and meanings of the hair-cutting tradition so that the community can understand its essence and distinguish it from the aqiqah religious practice. The method used in this research is qualitative, with the researcher serving as the primary instrument. Data were obtained through observation and in-depth interviews with local traditional leaders, which were then analyzed using Soerjono Soekanto's sociological theory. The results show that the functions of the hair-cutting tradition include aspects of historical heritage, reinforcement of family identity through the father's role, and as a means of entertainment and social integration. Meanwhile, the meaning of this tradition is reflected in religious and simplicity values, the fulfillment of children's rights to care, and the process of early socialization of moral and traditional values. Through this understanding, it is expected that misunderstandings between the hair-cutting tradition and the aqiqah obligation can be minimized.

Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of the structure and themes of news articles in the online media platforms Kompas.id and Tempo.co. The aim of this study is to identify the news structures and themes found in character education news published in the January–May 2025 editions. The researcher applied a qualitative approach using a descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this study were news articles from the online media Kompas.id and Tempo.co, while the object of the research was the structure of news articles themed on character education. The results indicate that the analysis of ten character education news articles in Kompas.id and Tempo.co shows that the news articles generally contain complete structural elements, consisting of: headline, dateline, lead, body, and closing. In Kompas.id, four news articles have complete structural elements, while one article lacks complete structure. In Tempo.co, three news articles have complete structural elements, while the other two lack complete structural elements. Both online media platforms present clear main topics supported by relevant subtopics.
