Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) compliance with the principle of politeness in language, and (2) violation of the principle of politeness in language in the serialized story Mikul Dhuwur Mendhem Jero by Tiyasti. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data source of this research is the serialized story of Mikul Dhuwur Mendhem Jero by Tiyasti. The data of this research are quotations that contain compliance with the principles of politeness in language and violations of the principles of politeness in the serialized story of Mikul Dhuwur Mendhem Jero by Tiyasti. Data collection techniques using library techniques and see notes. The research instrument is the researcher himself as the main instrument. Data analysis using content analysis techniques. The results of the study: The forms of compliance with the principles of politeness in language include: (a) 15 maxims of wisdom; (b) 4 maxims of generosity; (c) 11 maxims of praise; (d) 10 humility maxims; (e) 11 agreement maxims; and (f) 6 sympathy maxims. Forms of violation of language politeness include: (a) 2 maxims of wisdom; (b) 3 maxims of praise; (c) 1 humility maxim; (d) 3 maxims of agreement. In the serialized story Mikul Dhuwur Mendhem Jero by Tiyasti, there is no violation of the maxim of generosity and maxim of sympathy.

Abstract

The Belis tradition has been carried out by the people of Flores since hundreds of years ago. The belis tradition is part of the customary law of marriage in the cultural area of the Flores community. The term belis can be matched with the meaning of a dowry or an award given by a male family to a female family for proposing to a woman who will then enter into a male family clan or tribe. This study aims to reveal the formation of the female body in the Belis tradition of the Flores community. The research method uses descriptive qualitative method with content analysis techniques. The result is that the tradition of giving belis is maintained as a guarantor of human reproduction. The belis tradition which later became the great narrative of the Flores culture, made it a very strong cultural logocentrism. Belis tradition can be said as a reaction to the doctrine that women have reproductive tasks like machines. In conclusion, it can be said that this belis tradition is also the background of the Flores woman's body. The female body becomes a metaphor for mapping social life to reflect reality. In the end, it is increasingly recognized that perception of the body is more a sociocultural construct.

Abstract

Listening skills for some teachers are more on listening skills, not on listening as a process and mechanics so that skills in technological sophistication are needed as interesting learning media. Technology can be used to help students develop listening skills through information technology, one of which is "Tik-Tok" with various available pages. Each type of technology provides opportunities for students to explore their listening strategies and in some cases develop new strategies. This study uses a descriptive method using a qualitative approach. In this case, the researcher is not directly involved in the object of study but only as an observer of the object of study contained in the contents of the "TikTok" account. The note-taking technique is carried out to record and select the elements that are listened to from social media or information technology "Tik-Tok" in Procedure Text learning then written into data paper. The purpose of the research is that with tiktok media students can observe, listen to technology, besides that listening is not only tangible in writing but with the digital era through tiktok video media students will understand in more detail listening with technology. Development of better listening skills and exploiting old technology or new technology in various ways in order to meet the needs of students in responding to changes and developments in listening learning technology. The conclusion is that listening with technology media provides new insights and new knowledge in listening skills, students are more enthusiastic to understand in depth than listening using technology, students can get to know better and become familiar with technology.

Abstract

This paper discusses the essential of power in the wayang play entitled Wahyu Purba Sejati by Ki Seno Nugroho. There are quite a number of wayang kulit purwa plays with the theme of revelation, such as: Wahyu Makutharama, Wahyu Purba Kayun, Wahyu Darma, Wahyu Pancadarma, and others. One of wayang kulit purwa play that is unique in the last decade is Wahyu Purba Sejati play, presented by Ki Seno Nugroho. The power in this play is divided into four, namely Cahyaningrat, Reksakaningrat, Yuwananingrat, and Wimbaningrat. How the essential of power is constructed in the play Wahyu Purba Sejati by Ki Seno Nugroho is the main problem in this research. Creswell's qualitative method and Benedict Anderson's theory of power are used to analyze this issue of power. The study resulted in the finding that the concept of power in the play Wahyu Purba Sejati essentially refers to the gift of God's supernatural power given to humans who like to do inner work in a quiet place in their orientation to create world peace. Power is knowledge that contains subtleties, achieved through athe process of implementing self-control which functions to maintain world harmony by eradicating chaos, injustice and unrighteousness, in order to create a safe, peaceful, prosperous life. This study concludes that power is cosmic and magical (supernatural) which is represented by the acquisition of revelation as a manifestation of the achievement of certain social strata (wahyu kraton, wahyu patih, wahyu wahdat, and wahyu induk). Power is not only a tool that has the potential to be destructive, but it can also potentially be a means to meddle hayuningbawana (seek world peace).

Abstract

This study aims to explain the form of modification and the factors behind the degradation of traditional values in Javanese wedding ceremonies as a result of the implementation of PPKM during the Covid 19 pandemic. The data source in this study is the event of Javanese wedding traditions in Jatipuro Karanganyar. The data are in the form of behavior, actions, words, and symbols in the Javanese wedding event in Jatipuro Karanganyar. Collecting data using the listen method using the recording technique, and the advanced note-taking technique. The research uses qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach. The method of presenting the results of data analysis using informal methods. The results explain that restrictions on community activities during the pandemic have an impact on the modification of traditional wedding ceremonies. Javanese wedding traditions are sacred and noble and become a medium for the community in synergizing in the same 'feel', being friendly and helping each other to change. The change was caused by a modification to summarize the order of the wedding ceremony and a reduction in the number of participants or cultural actors involved, during the covid 19 pandemic. This has an impact on the degradation of the value of a Javanese wedding tradition. In the past, it was created by the ancestors to have hope as a symbol of the concept of prayer of hope, andum rasa (sharing happiness), guyub (crystallization of the value of harmony), tepa selira (understanding and respecting each other), tulung tinulung (helping each other), now everything is difficult to feel. People cannot be free to be part of the running of a tradition because of the prohibition on gathering and restrictions on community social activities. The results of this study are a scientific contribution and source of learning about socio-cultural changes in society and as a reference for stakeholder policies in taking strategic steps for implementing community activities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Tuturan imperatif banyak digunakan dalam instagram sebagai media interaksi sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tipe-tipe kesantunan tuturan imperatif dalam kolom komentar instagram Joko Widodo. Sumber data adalah tuturan warganet dalam kolom komentar pada unggahan di instagram Joko Widodo dengan deskripsi “Seusai Jumatan di Masjid Al Iklhas, Kota Binjai, siang ini, saya bertolak ke Jakarta” tanggal 4 Februari 2022 yang mengandung kesantunan imperatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode simak dengan teknik salin. Penyimakan dilakukan dengan cara menyimak tuturan yang mengandung kesantunan imperatif dalam kolom komentar instagram Joko Widodo. Setelah itu, menyalin tuturan yang telah dipilih secara purposif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada dua jenis tuturan imperatif, yaitu  tuturan kesantunan linguistik imperatif dan tuturan kesantunan pragmatik imperatif. Tuturan kesantunan linguistik imperatif menggunakan penanda tolong yang terdiri dari enam tuturan dan penanda mohon yang terdiri dari tiga tuturan. Tuturan kesantunan pragmatik imperatif terdiri dari dua wujud, yaitu tuturan interogatif dan tuturan deklaratif. Tuturan interogatif terdiri dari dua wujud, yaitu perintah sebanyak empat tuturan dan tuturan ajakan sebanyak dua tuturan. Tuturan deklaratif terdiri dari tiga wujud, yaitu suruhan sebanyak tiga tuturan, ajakan sebanyak tiga tuturan, dan permohan sebanyak dua tuturan.

Abstract

Naskah Serat Triluka Sabda Bawana ingkang Langgeng merupakan naskah yang memuat ajaran agama Islam, khususnya tentang sifat-sifat Allah. Naskah ini menarik untuk diteliti karena mengandung tafsir orang Jawa tentang sifat-sifat Allah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan kecocokan antara Sifat-sifat Allah dalam naskah Serat Triluka Sabda Bawana ingkang Langgeng dengan Sifat-sifat Allah yang tertulis dalam Al-Qur’an. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian filologi modern dan metode penelitian deskriptif. Metode penelitian filologi modern digunakan dengan tujuan supaya teks STSBIL mudah dibaca oleh pembaca. Metode penelitian deskriptif digunakan untuk membuat deskripsi keadaan teks STSBIL. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan langkah penelitian filologi yaitu (1) inventarisasi naskah, (2) deskripsi naskah, (3) alih tulis teks, (4) suntingan teks, (5) terjemahan teks, dan (6) analisis isi. Metode analisis isi menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang kecocokan antara Sifat-sifat Allah dalam naskah Serat Triluka Sabda Bawana ingkang Langgeng dengan Sifat-sifat Allah yang tertulis dalam Al-Qur’an. Sifat-sifat Allah tersebut yaitu Sifat Baqa, Sifat Wahdaniyat, Sifat Qudrat, Sifat Hayat, Sifat Jamaluhu, Sifat Pemurah, dan Sifat Adil.

Abstract

Wayang merupakan seni budaya dunia. Terbukti dari banyaknya permainan boneka wayang yang tersebar di seluruh dunia dengan berbagai bentuknya. Saat ini telah muncul bentuk baru pertunjukan wayang binatang, yakni Wayang Fabel (WF). WF adalah cerita fiksi yang bersifat antropomorfisme dengan konsep artefaknya wayang-kartun. Dari sudut pandang intertekstualitas, Wayang Fabel adalah bentuk terkini dari proses evolusi Wayang Kancil yang telah populer pada awal abad 20. WF dibangun dalam Universe Satwaloka yang penciptaannya didedikasikan untuk anak-anak zaman baru. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan semiotik. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa WF memiliki ciri penyajian yang simpel, minimalis, dan efektif. Disamping itu, WF memiliki gaya sajian yang mirip dengan film animasi atau kartun modern. Wayang Fabel dalam penelitian ini dilihat dalam kedudukannya sebagai seni pertunjukan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplanasi Novel Sang Nyai 3 dalam perspektif realisme magis. Paradigma penelitian adalah kualitatif. Data penelitian adalah teks wacana Novel Sang Nyai 3 yang mengandung unsur realisme magis. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa narasi realisme magis dalam Novel Sang Nyai 3 mengisahkan kehidupan sosial Jawa dengan berbagai fenomena transendental magis. Unsur magis dalam novel terbagi dalam tiga, yaitu 1) karakteristik elemen tak tereduksi; 2) dunia fenomenal; 3) dirupsi waktu, ruang, dan identitas. Novel Sang Nyai 3 terpengaruh kulkur Jawa dan literatur klasik. Implikasi penelitian adalah bahwa sastra merupakan salah satu media untuk pelestarian mitos dari kultur tertentu.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah upaya untuk mengeksplanasi nilai pendidikan karakter novel “Hilanglah Si Anak Hilang” (selanjutnya disebut PKNHSAH) dan relevansinya pada silabus Bahasa Indonesia SMA. Paradigma penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah novel Hilanglah Si Anak Hilang karya Nasjah Djamin. Data penelitian adalah nilai pendidikan karakter pada setiap bagian-bagian novel yang terdiri atas 10 bagian. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini adalah teknik baca dan catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Novel “Hilanglah Si Anak Hilang” karya Nasjah Djamin ditemukan 18 nilai karakter. PKNHSAH didominasi dengan nilai karakter jujur dan cinta damai. Keseluruhan hasil analisis novel dari 10 bagian novel yang ditemukan 25 nilai-nilai karakter yang dapat direlevansikan pada silabus pendidikan SMA. Terdapat nilai karakter dalam kompetensi inti silabus Bahasa Indonesia SMA yang tidak terdapat dalam nilai pendidikan karakter menurut Kemendiknas 2010 yaitu nilai santun, gotong royong, kerja sama, responsif, pro-aktif, dan efektif. Implikasi penting penelitian ini adalah nilai PKNHSAH diharapkan dapat memberi dedikasi serta kontribusi positif dalam dunia pendidikan, sarana untuk memperkaya khazanah ilmu pengetahuan tentang kesastraan, khususnya karya sastra tulis. Kemudian, bagi para pendidik dan pelajar, hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai acuan pembelajaran karakter berbudi pekerti luhur yang berkesinambungan, terwujudnya keberhasilan pendidikan, hingga generasi emas pada masa yang akan datang.
