Abstract

The West Manggarai Regency Government has established 94 tourist villages in line with tourism development. One of the tourist villages in West Manggarai Regency is Kempo Village. The natural tourism potential of this village is Golo Cucu Hill, Liang Ndre Kalelawar Cave, and rice fields. However, there has been no study on the potential for natural tourism in Kempo Village. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the potential for natural tourism in Kempo Village. This research approach was qualitative, with data collection techniques through focused group discussions and observation. Data analysis used the Guidelines for the Analysis of Working Areas for Natural Tourism Objects and Attractions (ADO-ODTWA). The results were seven aspects that have high feasibility categories, namely 1) tourist attraction, 2) conditions around the area, 3) management and services, 4) facilities and infrastructure, 5) availability of clean water, 6) security and 7) marketing. The aspect with a moderate eligibility category was accessibility, while the accommodation aspect had a low eligibility category. Thus, it can be concluded that the natural tourism potential in Kempo Village was highly feasible. However, there was a need for improvement in accommodation and accessibility aspects. Recommendations for the accommodation aspect were hospitality training for Pokdarwis members and the determination of community houses as homestays while improving the accessibility aspect could be done by making information boards and road signs to make it easier for tourists to visit.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the application of the teachings of Tri Kaya Parisudha local wisdom in guiding tours in Bali. For this reason, the study was conducted using qualitative approach by collecting data through in-depth interviews to five senior tour guides, scholars in Balinese culture, Hindu Religion and philosophy, and Hindu religious figures in Bali. The data obtained through the interview were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that Tri Kaya Parisudha local wisdom should become the reference for tourist guide in handling their clients. It could be used as philosophy, ethic, as well as a base for service to the clients or guests. However, there are still a number of tour guides who do not apply the Tri Kaya Parisudha teaching in handling their clients. More studies on this topic would enrich the topic and research on how to implement it in real life situation would be useful for improving the quality of tour guide in Bali.

Abstract

Tuntang District is located in Semarang Regency, Central Java Province. This district has an aquatic landscape, namely Rawa Pening Lake. Rawa Pening Lake has attractive natural tourism potential because of its very beautiful natural scenery and Rawa Pening Lake is sorrounded by mountains. In addition, the lake area is also used as a place for fish cultivation because the outskirts have fish cages, and are also used for irrigation of rice fields. However, this potential has not been developed properly. So the purpose of this research is to analyze the suitability and feasibility of Candirejo Village and Lopait Village to become agro-tourism villages. The research method used is to identify land use using a classification method based on the condition of satellite imagery, Analyzing the social conditions (perceptions) of the community, where the sample was selected using the stratified random sampling method, Analyzing the visual conditions (landscape aesthetics) using the Scenic Beauty Estimation (SBE) method, and Assessing the feasibility and suitability of each village based on the results of the previous three stages. The results of the study can be seen in the table of the total value of all the variables in the 2 agro-tourism villages. In conclusion, Candirejo Village and Lopait Village have the potential to be used as agro-tourism villages, but Lopait Village still needs to be improved in several variables.
