Abstract

This study aimed to examine the growth of the traditional culinary industry sector in Central Kalimantan and its relationship with tourist destinations, emphasizing its role as a branding tool that shapes the destination brand identity in Central Kalimantan. The research methodology employed was qualitative with a focused case study approach in Central Kalimantan. Data were obtained through triangulation techniques, including observation, interviews, and the analysis of documentary data, involving various informants such as officials from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, academicians, tourism destination managers, culinary entrepreneurs, tourists, and local communities. Data analysis utilized an interactive model comprising data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion stages. The research findings highlighted the diversity of Dayak culinary offerings in Central Kalimantan, including Juhu Umbut Rotan, Juhu Singkah Enyuh, Juhu Kujang, Chips made of Kalakai, Kalumpe, Sambal Kandas Sarai, and Kenta through the Mangenta process, demonstrating positive impacts on the development of tourist destinations. Furthermore, Dayak culinary practices were elevated as a branding element capable of shaping destination identity. The synergy between the government and local communities is vital in promoting Dayak culinary heritage to fortify destination brand identity and boost tourism allure. Through cohesive collaboration, Central Kalimantan can effectively leverage Dayak cuisine's distinctiveness to build a robust and sustainable destination brand. To maximize this potential, fostering strong synergy among the government, local communities, and culinary entrepreneurs is crucial. Proactive government engagement, sustained support for culinary entrepreneurs, organizing culinary festivals to enhance global awareness, targeted backing for enterprises like MEFs Food & Snacks, active community participation in digital marketing, and continuous research to monitor market trends are pivotal.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether customer loyalty, customer satisfaction, and restaurant service quality are positively correlated. In addition, research is being done on customer satisfaction as a mediator in the relationship between customer loyalty and service quality in restaurants. Purposive sampling was used to gather information from 300 patrons of fast-food restaurants using a questionnaire survey. Using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) in SMART PLS 3, the suggested model's hypotheses were investigated. The study's conclusions support the notion that customer loyalty, customer pleasure, and restaurant service quality are all positively correlated. However, the association between customer satisfaction and restaurant customer loyalty is not mediated  by consumer satisfaction. This study emphasizes the significance of patron loyalty as a critical behavioral reaction in restaurants. The study's findings will help restaurant managers comprehend the vital significance that customer satisfaction and service quality play as marketing strategies to uphold and cultivate restaurant patron loyalty.

Abstract

This article publication aims to examine the Bawah Reserve’s efforts towards sustainability, a luxury resort located on remote and marine conservation area Anambas Island, Indonesia. Its appeal is based on luxury, but it also offers insights into the small island’s nature and community development. By analyzing the content based on the grounded theory approach, this study sheds light on the opportunities that arise when striving for both opulence and environmental responsibility in the context of tourism. The paper attempts to address how eco-luxury is projected by management and perceived by customers and community. A qualitative study was adopted, and the findings identify four themes: Sustainable Management, Sustainable Socioeconomic Benefits, Cultural Heritage and Reduced Cultural Impacts, and Environmental Protection and Conservation. The findings of sustainable tourism practices in Bawah Reserve, such as tourism packages based on natural conservation and community empowerment as well as eco-friendly infrastructure and operations add to the literature review and case studies in the field of sustainable luxury tourism, the majority of which focus on Bali or Maldives. This study offers insights for achieving a harmonious balance between luxury tourism and sustainability on a remote island within the Indonesian context.
