Memorable Tourism Experience (MTE) refers to a significant experience that tourists remember and build upon when describing a specific visit to a travel destination. This experience can be used to gauge the level of interest and its impact on the likelihood of revisiting the destination. This study aims to investigate the effect of MTE on the revisit intention of domestic tourists to Tanah Lot Tourist Attraction in Tabanan Regency. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing revisit intention, such as e-WOM and destination familiarity, with destination image as an intervening variable. The research was conducted in Ponggok Klaten tourism village. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing the SEM-PLS model. The study's results were tested using the Smart PLS 3 application. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, field observations, and interviews. The population of this study includes visitors to the Ponggok Klaten Tourism Village. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with the criteria being visitors who had visited the Ponggok Klaten Tourism Village at least once and were interested in revisiting. The sample obtained in this study comprised 248 respondents. The results indicate that e-WOM and destination familiarity positively and significantly impact destination image. Similarly, destination image significantly affects revisit intention. This suggests that destination image mediates the influence of e-WOM and destination familiarity on revisit intention. Thus, efforts to increase revisit intention can be achieved by enhancing e-WOM and destination familiarity through destination image. This research is limited to a specific tourism destination. This study contributes to tourism village managers by demonstrating how online reviews and information can affect tourists' perceptions and their intention to revisit. This study positions destination image as an intervening or mediating variable that explains the relationship between e-WOM and familiarity with revisit intention. It provides new perspectives on the crucial role of destination image in linking digital information and direct experiences with tourists' decisions. Using this mediating variable helps reveal the more complex mechanisms through which the two independent variables influence revisit intention.

Abstract

This study explores trends and research patterns related to the development of tourism villages in Indonesia through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach guided by the PRISMA method. Focusing on the 2022–2024 period, the research maps out key themes, research methods, and stakeholder involvement. An analysis of 153 articles reveals the dominance of qualitative methods aimed at exploring local social and cultural contexts, with research distribution heavily concentrated in Central Java, West Java, and Bali. While these methods provide in-depth insights, the lack of quantitative studies creates a gap in providing measurable data. Furthermore, stakeholder involvement indicates limited participation from the private sector, higher education institutions, and media. Dominant research topics include development management, community engagement, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. The findings highlight the need for research in marketing, digital innovation, and the impacts of development. Additionally, the study underscores the importance of diversifying research methods, conducting studies outside Java and Bali, and fostering cross-sector collaboration to support the sustainability of tourism villages. This research provides an academic foundation to inform policymaking and identifies open research opportunities in the field of tourism village development

Abstract

Myths are part of folklore that become the cultural identity of a community that is passed down from generation to generation and has sacred value for its adherents. One of the myths that has been passed down from generation to generation is the myth of pesugihan (Indonesian term that refers to the practice of gaining supernatural wealth often by making a pact with supernatural entities) at Gunung Kawi, which still survives today. Pesarean Gunung Kawi is one of the pilgrimage tours and spiritual tours located in Malang Regency. This pesugihan myth arises because of the belief that someone will become rich after performing rituals at Pesarean Gunung Kawi. Of course, the myth of pesugihan is an unfavorable image for this tourist destination which causes someone to hesitate to visit this destination. The purpose of this research is to find out the potential of this pesugihan myth to become a unique tourist attraction and identify tourism products that can be developed in this destination by utilizing the pesugihan myth. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation

Abstract

This study explores how digital platforms shape heritage perception by analysing 898 TripAdvisor reviews of Shirakawa-go from 2010 to 2025. Using a mixed-methods approach, it combines sentiment classification and content analysis to understand how electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM) conveys cultural significance. Reviews were categorised as Positive, Neutral, or Negative using RStudio. Findings show a predominantly positive sentiment, especially among couples (34.30%) and families (22.60%), with emotional peaks during winter months, reinforcing Shirakawa-go’s image as a snow-covered heritage village. However, recent reviews indicate declining satisfaction due to overtourism and commercialisation. However, recent reviews indicate declining satisfaction due to overtourism and commercialisation. A weak correlation (r ? 0.108) between sentiment and rating scores highlights the richer insights offered by textual analysis. Southeast Asian tourists expressed more positive emotions than European and domestic visitors, suggesting varying cultural responses to the site. The study is limited to English-language reviews from a single platform, which may exclude diverse perspectives. Future research should use multilingual, cross-platform data and triangulate findings with fieldwork or surveys. Overall, this research underscores the value of sentiment analysis for sustainable heritage tourism governance and calls for adaptive strategies to balance global tourist demand with local authenticity.
