Abstract

This study examines the role and political dynamics of the People's Representative Council of Mutual Assistance (DPR-GR) during the transition of power from the Old Order to the New Order in Indonesia. The main focus is to analyze how DPR-GR, as a legislative body engineered by the Old Order regime, underwent a transformation in function and position amidst the shifting power structure following the 30 September Movement (G30S/PKI). Using a historical-political approach and primary document analysis, this research reveals how DPR-GR was utilized as a tool to legitimize Soeharto’s rise to power and to erode President Soekarno’s authority. The findings show that DPR-GR was not merely a passive observer, but an active agent in the consolidation of military power and the establishment of the New Order regime. This study underscores that the political transition during this period was not solely militaristic, but also involved strategic manipulation of formal political institutions to legitimize the new regime. Abstract

This study explores the absence of Aceh’s conflict history in Indonesia’s national history curriculum and its implications for strengthening peace literacy in post-conflict education. Although values such as tolerance, diversity, and peace are emphasized in national curriculum goals, this study finds that these values are taught in isolation from local historical narratives—particularly the conflict between the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) and the Indonesian government. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and a case study method, data were collected through curriculum document analysis, history textbooks, interviews with teachers, and classroom observations in several secondary schools in Aceh. The findings reveal that history teachers face both pedagogical and institutional gaps when attempting to introduce local conflict into the classroom. The lack of teaching guidelines, learning materials, and structural support leads to generic teaching practices that avoid sensitive topics, including Aceh's conflict. As a result, students are denied access to contextual, reflective, and experience-based understandings of peace and history. This study underscores the urgency of integrating local history and peace literacy as part of reconciliatory education and calls for curriculum reform to reposition history education as a transformative, rather than merely normative, pedagogical space.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Studiefonds Van Het Mangkoenagoro VII (1924-1930) as a concrete manifestation of the Ethical Political Trilogy, especially in the field of education in Praja Mangkunegaran. This research aims to: (1) analyze the distribution mechanism and implementation of Studiefonds, (2) evaluate the role of Mangkunegara VII in the management of the education fund, and (3) identify the impact on the Sentana and Abdi Dalem. The method used the historical method with the stages of heuristics (Mangkunegaran archives, Studiefonds annual report), source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results showed that Studiefonds was divided into two types: Studiefonds A (funds from the Praja treasury) and Studiefonds B (funds from previous recipient installments). This policy succeeded in increasing access to modern education for bumiputera, although it was limited to the Praja elite. Significant impacts included: (1) the birth of educated personnel for colonial and Praja administrative needs, (2) the emergence of a new social class of educated people. Mangkunegara VII's role was reflected in the establishment of the Commissie van Advies to oversee the distribution of funds and the expansion of Mangkunegaran schools. The novelty of this research lies in finding that Studiefonds became a unique model of community-based education funding in the colonial era, as well as a reflection of the spirit of limited autonomy of Praja Mangkunegaran. The economic crisis of 1930 was a factor in the decline of the program's effectiveness.

Abstract

This research seeks to examine Muhammad Abduh’s perspectives on religiousmodernity and the renewal of Islamic education as an effort to overcome theintellectual and social stagnation faced by Muslims from the 19th century up tothe present time. The study adopts a qualitative descriptive method using alibrary research approach, drawing on primary references from Abduh’s ownwritings such as Risalah al-Tauhid and Tafsir al-Manar, alongside secondarysources from scholarly books and academic journals. The results indicate thatAbduh prioritized the role of rational thinking, the revitalization of ijtihad, theharmonization of religious sciences with modern knowledge, and the structuralreform of educational institutions. For Abduh, modernity does not involvecopying Western civilization blindly, but rather harmonizing Islamic teachingswith contemporary realities through reasoned and contextual interpretation. Hisreformist ideas continue to hold strong relevance today, especially in curriculumdevelopment, pedagogical innovation, educational governance, and thecultivation of learners’ moral character in the era of globalization. Consequently,Abduh’s intellectual legacy serves as a pivotal framework for shaping an Islamiceducation model that is dynamic, balanced, and forward-looking.

Product effectiveness tests are conducted using experimental methods. Theresearch analysis of the effectiveness test results showed that the posttest scoresof the experimental class (using the developed module) were higher than thoseof the control class (using LKS). This statement is supported by data from theSPSS 16 analysis, which shows a significant difference (p = 0.000 < 0.05) betweenthe experimental and control classes after treatment. Because the average valueof the historical empathy attitude test of the experimental class (the groupsubjected to the developed module) = 128 > the average value of the historicalempathy attitude test of the control class (the group subjected to LKS) = 114.48,it can be concluded that the module developed effectively to increase students’historical empathy. The description above demonstrates that the MulticulturalLearning Teaching Module product for Local History Content at SMA Lampung iseffective in increasing students’ historical empathy
