Abstract

Frame construction is one of the things that must be considered in the process of designing a machine, for that the design of the strength of the frame is an important thing in order to withstand the load and support the various components contained in the machine and analyze the strength of the frame related to the capacity of the screw conveyor machine.This study aims to analyze the structural strength of the Support frame which is used to support the new design of the screw conveyor machine in the process of moving and draining wet plastic pieces. The method used in this design includes collecting data, creating a 3D model using solidwork software, then analyzing the structure using the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulation method. The results of the FEA simulation on the truss construction with a loading of 4,049 N get the highest stress value (stress) with the centralized loading method of while with the uniform loading method of , compared to the yield strength value of 250.000.000 the support fream construction is safe to use, the displacement (deflection) with the uniform loading method is 0.4 mm while the concentrated loading method is 0.77mm, The simulation results of factor of safety analysis from uniform loading are 10 while for the centralized loading method the factor of safety value is 4, so it is concluded that this design is feasible to use and the safety factor is good.

Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini yang dilakukan terhadap sepeda motor khususnya sepeda motor bertransmisi otomatis (matic). Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan kepada pengguna sepeda motor bertransmisi otomatis (matic) terdapat keluhan yang dirasakan pengguna, hal yang sering dikeluhkan yaitu performa motor yang kurang responsife. Ada beberapa cara untuk meningkatkan performa sepeda motor maic salah satunya mengganti spring pada continuous variable transmission (CVT). Pengujian dilakukan pada sepeda motor Honda Beat FI 110 cc tahun 2013. Tujuan pengujian untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh spring cvt terhadap daya, torsi, dan konsumsi bahan bakar yang dihasilkan pada sepeda motor dengan variasi spring racing 6100 – 6300 rpm. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian eksperimen, yaitu sebuah penelitian yang berusaha mencari pengaruh variabel tertentu terhadap variable lain dalam kondisi yang terkontrol. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan hasil daya terbesar pada spring racing sebesar 7,1 hp pada putaran meisn 6300 rpm, sedangkan torsi terbesar yang dihasilkan terdapat pada putaran mesin 6300 rpm sebesar 8,1 N.m dengan penggunaan spring racing. Pada kosumsi bahan bakar minimal yang dihasilkan sebesar 0,233 Kg/jam.hp pada putaran mesin 6100 rpm dengan menggunakan spring racing.

Abstract

Oyster mushroom is a group of food plants that are rich in protein, vitamins and minerals. The weakness of this mushroom is its high moisture content so it rots quickly when stored in fresh conditions. Drying by using solar energy is one of the best options because of its sufficient quantity and low cost. This study proposes a solar dryer with three collectors of 500 mm x 500 mm x 1254 mm each with 4 rack. The drying experimental is using a sample of 1 kg. The best model of drying kinetics is the MMF model with an R value of 0.9950. The moisture extraction rate (MER) was 137 gr/hour under experimental conditions.

Abstract

The process of making cement goes through numerous phases and different procedures in order to produce cement that is up to factory requirements. In addition to the combustion process, the cooling process also exists in the cement manufacturing kiln area, particularly the rotary kiln, but it is less crucial. A crucial aspect of the cement production machinery is the cooling procedure or clinker cooler. The cooling process here impacts the quality of the cement produced, therefore this equipment is used to cool or lower the temperature of the clinker so it doesn't burn in the rotary kiln. The relationship between the clinker's crystal concentration and the liquid phase is influenced by the rate at which the clinker cools

Abstract

In a production process optimization is needed to increase the productivity of production results. This research was conducted on the Aida 800T Blanking machine, based on the results of field observations made on the Aida 800T Blanking machine at PT. XYZ there is frequent losstime, this hinders the production process which results in reduced production targets. Losstime often occurs during a production process, the factors that often occur are the environment, humans, materials, and machines. The purpose of this study is to find out how much the cost is due to loss time. The methods used to perform losstime analysis are 5 why analysis, Pareto diagrams and fishbone diagrams to identify problems that often occur in the production process. From the results of the research, it was found that the costs incurred were Rp. 6,509,220. By performing a losstime analysis, there is a cost saving of 3,797,736 during one month of production, so that the method is successfully used with the end result of doing kaizen.

Abstract

Red ginger is a plant that is easy to grow in Indonesia and is well known as a spice plant and can be found in many plantation farmers, such as in Kediri Regency, Kepung District, Besowo Village. One of the preparations of red ginger that local residents are involved in is making instant herbal medicine. The processing of instant herbal medicine with red ginger as raw material includes the process of washing, grating, squeezing, and cooking so that the final result is crystallized red ginger. The focus of discussion in this article is the mixing process. The design of this mixing machine uses a power of 0.5 HP and a rotation of 1400 rpm to mix 5 kg/hour of red ginger dough. This stirring process takes 60 to 80 minutes until red ginger crystals form.

Abstract

In the fabrication process of a series of piperacks, accurate workpiece results are needed in a fast time, therefore procedures are needed that can support the speed and accuracy of fabrication to fulfill PT Pertamina's wishes so that the RDMP RU V Balikpapan project takes place quickly. One part of the piperack fabricated by PT Arkha Jayanti Persada is iron girders. Because the process of checking the quality of parts of the piperack series is carried out by PT Pertamina very strictly, the results of the fabricated iron girders are also required to obtain precision iron girders at the right time but not injuring the tools and machines owned by PT Arkha Jayanti Persada. The purpose of this study is to analyze the results of 4 different blades. From the research results, it was found that cutting the 2-G-(F)-750 girder took 119 minutes using a saw blade 41 x 1.3 x 5300 – 10 TPI. With the same blade speed, replacing the saw blade with a 14 TPI tooth profile speeds up the cutting time to 85 minutes (29 %).

Abstract

Water is a basic need for every living creature, especially society in general. The need for clean water is very important for daily needs. PDAM is a supplier of drinking water as a company that is vital enough to support people's lives. To distribute water from its source to reach the community, a pump is needed as a vital tool to supply this water. With the rapid increase in population, the need for clean water also increases. To find out the water needs, a calculation analysis was carried out to find out the water needs and pump capacity by analyzing one of the distribution areas of PDAM Karawang, namely the Sirnabaya Village community with the results of population growth using the geometric method, namely 67,096 people, the number of community water needs and facilities is 206, 64 l/s, with a pump capacity that includes the effective discharge in operating hours of 0.602 m3/s, the effective discharge of each pump used is 0.200 m3//s, and the theoretical discharge of the pump is 0.217 m3/s. The required pump results are 3 main pumps and 1 backup pump.

Abstract

Part of the Waste Power Plant (PLTSa) is the control panel. In the previous research on its use, namely the type of generator with a power output of 500 W, with a voltage output of 11.9 V and the duration of charging the battery by the generator for 8 hours with the direct jumper method to the battery. The purpose of this study is to determine the process of obtaining current and voltage from the generator to the battery & to determine the battery charging speed. The research method for this PLTSa device is to consider the type & weight of the waste, vapor pressure, and the current voltage of the electric power generated using 2 blowers with 40 watts of power each. The results of calculating the battery charge for 8.8 hours. Based on the measurement results, with a mass of 5 kg of waste and a pressure of 6 bar, the burning time for firewood is 25 minutes, wooden blocks are 31 minutes and coconut shells are 35 minutes. At the maximum point, the current in the generator when it reaches 1243 rpm is 9 Ampere and the resulting voltage is 12.9 V, so the power obtained is 115.2 VA which can rotate two blowers. The conclusion of this study is that the charging speed of the battery in PLTSa equipment can be increased by changes to the specifications of the generator and SCC MPPT, eliminating Auto cut and Automatic Transfer Switch to streamline current loads.

Abstract

Solar desalination technology is a technology that utilizes sunlight as the main energy resource to produce clean water through the process of heating seawater. This study compared solar stills using a double slope cover glass model with a pyramid model. The study used an experimental method to compare the cover glass of the double slope model and the pyramid model. The data taken are temperature, solar radiation intensity and water productivity. The thickness of the water above the basin is 1 cm. The study resulted in the highest productivity and efficiency of solar stills using the highest double slope model cover glass of 2,780 liters and an efficiency of 37.79% compared to solar stills using pyramid model cover glass with a productivity of 2,580 liters and an efficiency of 35.16%.
