Abstract

Amphibians are vertebrate animals that generally live in humid forest areas. Amphibians can be used as environmental bioindicators because of their sensitivity to environmental changes such as water pollution and destruction of native habitats. Anura is one of the group of amphibians. The occurrence of microclimate changes caused by the dynamics of biotic and abiotic factors can result in changes in the amphibian population in Kerandangan Nature Park. Recording and identifying the presence of amphibians will help maintain limited populations and potentially be managed for the better. The purpose of this study was to analyze the diversity index of amphibian species (order anura) in Kerandangan Nature Tourism Park. The method used is VES (Visual Encounter Survey). The research was conducted in 4 blocks, namely intensive utilization blocks, limited utilization, rehabilitation and protection. Data were analyzed using the Shanon-Wienner diversity index. The results of the study found 3 species of amphibians (order anura) namely Limnonectes kadarsani, Duttaphrynus melanostictus, and Polypedates leucomystax. with an amphibian diversity index (Ordo Anura) in Kerandangan Nature Tourism Park is Hꞌ = 1.07.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of visual comic media on student learning motivation based on different genders. The study applies visual comic media to investigate whether there are differences in learning motivation between male and female students. The activities were conducted at SD Negeri 1 Malaka, North Lombok Regency, involving a total of 45 students. The research utilized a pre-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test design within a single treatment group. The instrument used was a motivation questionnaire based on the ARCS model, covering aspects of attention, relevance, satisfaction, diligence, self-reliance, and self-confidence. The analysis results indicate significant differences in the attention and diligence aspects. Furthermore, female students showed higher motivation compared to male students. These findings indicate that demographic factors such as gender influence responses to learning media such as visual comics. This suggests a need to consider gender factors in the design of visual learning media to achieve maximum effectiveness in learning, particularly in enhancing student learning motivation.

Abstract

Diabetes melitus or diabetes is a health disorder in the form of a collection of symptoms that arise in a person caused by increased blood sugar leves due to insulin deficiency or insulin resistance and metabolic disorders in general. Red bete leaves contain chemical compounds of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and saponins which can lower blood sugar leves. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of red bete leaf extract suspension (Piper crocatum) as antihyperglycemia in male white rats (Rattus novergicus) induced by alloxan. This research method is experimental. The extraction process for red bete leaves uses 70% ethanol solvent using the maceration method, then concentrated using a rotary evaporator and thickened using a water bath, then a suspension preparation is made, the doses given to male white rats are 2%, 4% and 6%. Glibenclamide suspension as a positive control and suspending agent as a negative control. The effectiveness of the red bete leaf extract suspension was seen from the reduction in blood sugar leves in mice after being induced by alloxan. The research data were analyzed using One Way ANOVA and paired sample t-test. The resuts of the study showed that red bete leaf extract suspension was effective as an antihyperglycemia, where the most effective dose was 6%. Abstract

There is an endemic animal in West Nusa Tenggara namely the Timor Deer (Cervus timorensis). However, the population has decreased over time, and the Timor deer species is categorized as an endangered species by the IUCN. The decline of the Timor Deer population in Lombok island is due to lose its natural habitat in the forest. And one of the causes that is deforestation. Deforestation is the conversion of forests into land for use, such as clearing land for agriculture and plantations. Therefore, to maintain the Timor Deer population in Lombok island, it is also important to balance it with providing knowledge about conservation to the community through conservation education. This research aims to analyze the relationship between the deforestation phenomenon and the decline of the Timor Deer population and the importance of conservation education for the community in Lombok island, West Nusa Tenggara. Using a systematic literature review method by collecting data and literature from several journals. The results show that there is a relationship between the deforestation phenomenon and the decline of the Timor Deer population in Lombok and the importance of conservation education to the community to increase public awareness to protect endemic animals.
