Abstract

The lack of variety in using learning media makes learning tend to be monotonous and influential on the low of motivation and learning interest of students. The use of digital-based media such as powerpoint, learning videos, and learning websites is not supportive for use because of the limited projector available in schools. With this problem, teachers are more frequent using nondigital-based media such as charta and props until leading to lack of variety in using media. As such, innovation is needed in the use of nondigital-based media such as scrapbook to make the media used is more varied. The aim of this research is to develop and determine the feasibility of the scrapbook on the material of excretion system for eighth grade in junior high school. The method used is research and development. The feasibility test of the scrapbook is carried out by five validators, they are two lecturers of Biology Education in Tanjungpura University and three science teachers in junior high school 1 Selakau, Sambas Regency. Abstract

The Port Health Office (KKP) is a Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) within the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia which is responsible to the Director General of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P). The Port Health Office (KKP) has at least three scopes of work, namely preventing disease and health problems, managing airport/port environmental health. This research was conducted to determine the factors that influence the timeliness of ship clearance at the Mataram Class II Port Health Office in thesheet working area. The type of research used is analytical observational research using a cross sectional approach. Analytical surveys are surveys or research that explore how and why this health phenomenon occurs. Cross sectional is a method where the independent variable and the dependent variable are observed at the same time. The cross sectional approach aims to explain the factors that influence the timeliness of services for ship clearance at the Mataram Class II Port Health Office in the 2023 Working Area. Based on the results of statistical analysis, it was found that p value = 0.000 or less than (0.05) in factor on the timeliness of filling the sinkhole, then we get p value = 0.026 or less than (0.05) on the ship's sanitary condition factor. This means that these two factors have an influence on the timeliness of ship clearance at the Mataram Class II Port Health Office in the Sheet Work Area. The results of the logistic regression analysis show that the dominant factor is the timeliness of filling out the synchroplasty on the timeliness of services for ship clearance at the Mataram Class II Port Health Office in the Sheet Work Area. There is an influence between the timeliness of filling the sinkhole and the timeliness of ship clearance and there is an influence of the sanitary condition of the ship and the timeliness of ship clearance at the Mataram Class II Port Health Office, Working Area (Wilker) Sheet.

Abstract

The abundance of flora in Indonesia is an advantage that Indonesia has, so it needs to be preserved to support the continuity of social life. Cemara udang is a conifer tree with a straight, sturdy trunk, with hanging branches and sharp green leaves which is also found in Indonesia, which borders the Indian Ocean. This species is conserved in Indonesia and is found in coastal areas, beaches and mangrove forests. Through this literature study, exploration of the empowerment of cemara udang plants is discussed. Cemara udang plants provide protection from potential adverse climates such as strong winds and soil protection. This plant also has medical benefits such as inflammation problems, digestive issues, and sore throats, and is anti-bacterial. This plant is known to have biactive compounds such as alkaloids, glycosides, saponins, flavonoids, tannins, steroids, phenolics and triterpenoids. This study also explores the potential for sustainability of cemara udang plants in Indonesia to make them more commercially efficient, as an advanced material whose potential has recently been discovered as nanoparticles for health, and as an adsorbent to overcome the problem of aquatic environments that contain a lot of residual dye.

Abstract

Indonesia is known with its high biodiversity. One of them is sea cucumber. Various species of sea cucumbers are found in Indonesian sea in Talaud Regency at Kabaruan Island. Identification of sea cucumbers to reveal the biodiversity of sea cucumbers in Kabaruan Island, which is almost unknown. This research was to identify six samples of sea cucumber (Holothuroidea) in Kabaruan Island based on morphology and DNA barcoding using the COI gene. The differences between each species can be seen from the morphological characteristics, the length and width of sea cucumbers, papillae, pattern and color. The results showed that there were 4 species from 6 samples, which is Holothuria leucospilota, Holothuria whitmaei, Eleutherozoa sp., and Holothuria atra. That six samples with the code A1, A2, B1, C1, and C2 have a homology level of 99%-100% with the target nucleotide sequence from GenBank. Meanwhile, the sample’s code A3 has a homology level of 90% with the Eleutheroza sp. so there is a possibility that sample A3 is a new taxa that has the highest similarity to the Eleutheroza sp. From the six samples, it was found that samples A2 and B1 had the highest level of similarity which is 100%. Meanwhile, the samples with the lowest percentage values are samples A3 and B1 and samples A2 and A3, with a percentage value of 82.75%. There were 4 species from six samples found in Kabaruan Island. There is a possibility that Sample A3 is a new species that is similar to Eleutheroza sp.

Abstract

Air is important for human survival, but in modern times, air quality is increasingly decreasing due to air pollution. Air quality can be seen in several aspects, one of which is the biological aspect. Lichenes are a biological aspect that can be used as an indicator of air quality. Lichenes are sensitive to the natural conditions in which they live, if air pollution occurs in their habitat it will disrupt their growth process. The aim of this research is to determine the air quality in the Pujon Special Purpose Forest Area, Malang Regency, based on the results of the diversity of spesies and size of Lichenes found. This research uses a quantitative approach and an exploratory descriptive research type. The method used was purposive sampling using a 10×20m belt transect placed at stations I, II, and III in the Pujon Special Purpose Forest Area. Data analysis techniques include abiotic factor analysis, analysis of the size of Lichenes as an indicator of air quality, Shannon-Weiner (H') diversity, and analysis of macroscopic characteristics. The results of this research found that 27 spesies of Lichenes had been identified from 15 different families. The highest diversity index value was at station II (2.62), followed by station I (2.52), and the lowest at station III (2.41). Based on the spesies diversity index value, Lichenes are included in medium diversity. The average size of Lichenes at stations I, II, and III indicates that the air quality in the Pujon Special Purpose Forest Area is of very good quality.

Abstract

Giant grouper is a highly sought-after cultivated fish in Indonesia due to its high market value. One of the challenges in grouper aquaculture is the infestation of the sea leech ektoparasite Zeylanicobdella arugamensis. The prevalence rate of ektoparasite infestation reaches up to 100%. An effective method to manage ektoparasite infestation is through molecular profiling, serving as preliminary literature in the development of molecular biology efforts to overcome cultivation challenges in giant grouper. This research aims to study the homology and relationship of Zeylanicobdella arugamensis on giant grouper in East Java, specifically in Lamongan, Mandangin, Situbondo, and Lombok. The method used is RT-PCR with mtDNA COI gene primers. Molecular sequence data were collected from samples and compared with data from NCBI GenBank, and analyzed using Neighbor-joining phylogenetic tree method and homology data analysis on BLAST. The research results indicate clinical symptoms in giant grouper including swelling, lesions/wounds, pale skin, decreased appetite, and fin erosion. Electrophoresis results from PCR products show a single band at 750bp for samples from Lamongan, Situbondo, Mandangin, and Lombok. DNA sequencing results on NCBI BLAST and homology analysis against the reference gene were conducted. Homology analysis results between samples from Situbondo and Lamongan show the highest similarity at 98.28%, whereas the lowest similarity is between samples from Mandangin and Situbondo at 88.51%. Based on phylogenetic tree analysis, samples from Lamongan and Situbondo waters show a close relationship with a genetic distance of 0.009272.
