Abstract

To achieve the quality of education services at the national level, a strategy is needed by the school principal. Principal leadership expects to be able to realize educational goals effectively and efficiently. School principal leadership is when it can mobilize the organization's human resources (educators, school employees, students) to carry out their respective duties and jobs. An appropriate approach to educational institutions needs to move the organizational components, namely the servant leadership style. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach, as for the research method, namely interviews by taking the results of answers from respondents (principals) as individual opinions and then aligned with theoretical studies sourced from library data. In supporting the correctness of this data, it is supported by data reduction techniques, namely analyzing, selecting, and discarding to obtain verifiable conclusions. The study results show six servant leadership models: Value people, develop people, build community, display authenticity, provide leadership, and share leadership. Moreover, the characteristics of servant leadership: listening, fulfilling, empathy, healing, self-awareness, persuasion, and conceptualization.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to test the effectiveness of the reward system that has been established in increasing teacher work commitment in learning activities at SMA Plus Sedayu Nusantara Medan. This research is a type of mixed methods research. The population in the study were foundations, school principals and subject teachers and as many as 45 respondents were taken from a portion of the population. Methods of data collection with interviews and questionnaires. Methods of data analysis using descriptive methods and descriptive statistical analysis using person product moment correlation. The results of this study indicate that the reward system that has been established at Sedayu Nusantara Medan Plus High School is quite well received by teachers, then work commitment at Sedayu Nusantara Medan Plus High School is already good as seen from the willingness of teachers to continue to innovate in maximizing the learning process, and rewards have a positive influence significant to the work commitment of Sedayu Nusantara Medan Plus High School teachers where it can be seen from the rxy value or the influence value of the x variable on the y variable which is the teacher's commitment whose results show a value of 0.562 and if this value is consulted with the r moment value table, the remaining 0.438 is influenced by the factor - another factor.

Abstract

ISO 9001:2015 is one of the quality assurance systems that implemented in educational units. The Universities must apply the principles of ISO 9001:2015 for successful implementation. This study aims to identify and describe the implementation of management quality of ISO 9001:2015 at Muhammadiyah University of Palangka Raya (UMPR) especially in the implementation of the seven principles of management quality of ISO 9001:2015 which includes; focus on customers, leadership, people involvement, the process of approach, improvement, evidence-based decision making, and management relationship. The type of research that used is descriptive qualitative, data collection is done by in-depth interviews as primary data and documentation data, and literature studies as secondary data. While the data analysis technique that used is interactive model analysis by carrying out three steps, namely (1) condensation data, (2) presentation data, (3) conclusions. The results showed that UMPR had properly implemented the seven quality management principles based on ISO 9001:2015.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh variable lingkungan kerja dan komunikasi interpersonal terhadap semangat kerja dosen Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis (FEBI) Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan asosiatif, dengan metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan melakukan teknik survey dengan angket (kuisioner). Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh dosen tetap maupun tidak tetap di FEBI UMSU berjumlah 212 orang dijadikan sampel. Hasil analisis yang dibahas sebelumnya maka dapat dibuktikan dengan ditolaknya H0 melalui pengujian hipotesis dimana criteria uji t adalah adanya pengaruh lingkungan kerja terhadap semangat kerja yakni thitung ttabel 1,99 dan nilai uji t adanya pengaruh antar komunikasi interpersonal terhadap semangat kerja yakni thitungttabel 2,710 serta uji F adalah Fhitung 4.304 dengan sig 0,0180,050, menunjukkan H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima, hal ini membuktikan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari variabel lingkungan kerja dan komunikasi interpersonal terhadap semangat kerja.

Abstract

This research explains how MI Al Muhtadin Plumbon uses an education management information system to improve the quality of education. The education management information system was created to meet the needs of madrasahs. Madrasas want computerized management of academic activities to improve service quality and to facilitate the teaching and learning process in madrasas. Methods of data collection, research using observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that MI Al Muhtadin Plumbon has implemented an education management information system through the use of various applications. Among them is the SIMPATIKA application (information system for educators and education staff of the ministry of religion), the internet-based learning application used at MI Al Muhtadin through YouTube Kids and Quizz media, as well as the new student admissions application (PPDB). At MI Al Muhtadin there are several elements that support and hinder the implementation of SIMDIK. The inhibiting element in the implementation of the education management information system is the lack of understanding of human resources related to technology, and what supports the implementation of the education management information system are the many parties who help and work together to overcome the limited human resources at MI Al Muhtadin Plumbon.

Abstract

The current era of educational autonomy is a decisive moment in building a culture of regional education governance through the development of an effective educational planning system and good governance. The principle of regional autonomy is the widest possible autonomy in the sense that the region is given the authority to manage and regulate all government affairs outside of being the affairs of the regional government as stipulated in the applicable laws and regulations. The results of the study provide an overview of the Padang Sidempuan City Education Office having the authority to make regional policies in the framework of public services, increasing roles, initiatives, and community empowerment aimed at improving welfare and community services. towards education in the city of Padang Sidempuan. Practical education management in creating good governance. The arrangement and management of good governance educational institutions can be seen from the commitment of the education office to formulate the vision and mission of the institution. Leadership is quite visionary, developing the education sector, setting and fulfilling education quality standards in accordance with the expectations of stakeholders. Have strong political will accompanied by policies and planning systems that prioritize the importance of education as a human investment effort.

Abstract

Current education required to be able to have the competencies that have been proposed. Learning in the 21st century requires students to play an active role and think critically. The government's effort to realize this is by changing the curriculum, namely the independent curriculum. The aim of the independent curriculum is to create fun education for students and teachers and also to develop students' potential. Methods of data collection using questionnaires and written tests. In testing. The data collection method for learning motivation uses a questionnaire, while for the learning achievement test uses a test score document. To test the hypothesis used a statistical test using two-way ANOVA with the help of SPSS. Before carrying out the two-way analysis test, a parametric conditional test was carried out. From a series of tests carried out, namely instrument testing, hypothesis testing, and analysis, the research instruments and data met the required statistical test requirements.The results of this study indicate: (1) there are differences in physics learning outcomes between groups of students who are treated using the Discovery Learning learning model and groups of students using the Direct Instruction learning model for class X students of SMAN 1 Sukodadi, (2 there are differences in physics learning outcomes between groups of students who have high learning motivation and low learning motivation in class X SMAN 1 Sukodadi, (3 there is an interaction between learning models and learning motivation on physics learning outcomes in class X SMAN 1 Sukodadi.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations and interviews, it was found that the problem was that students had difficulty in converting units of length cm and m. This is because learning activities have not used appropriate learning media, thus making students less enthusiastic. Students have not been able to understand the material to the fullest because the material is too abstract so that they have not reached learning mastery. For this reason, it is necessary to have teaching aids to make it easier for students to solve the problem of converting units of length cm and m. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes about unit length conversion material cm and m with Tasaku learning media in class IIIA SDN Mojorejo 01 Batu City. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of 2 meetings. The data were obtained from the teacher's activities in teaching and student learning outcomes in working on the questions. The stages used in this study consisted of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The results showed that there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes. The average student learning outcomes in pre-cycle was 61 with mastery learning of 39%, in cycle I the average score was 69 with learning mastery was 55%, and in cycle II the average score was 83 with learning completeness was 97%. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that student learning outcomes on unit length conversion material cm and m by using Tasaku learning media can be increased.

Abstract

Critical thinking is a systematic and active cognitive process in assessing arguments, assessing a fact, assessing the richness and relationship of two or more objects and providing evidence to accept or reject a statement. This ability can be improved through the guided discovery learning model which prioritizes student activity during the learning process so that they can formulate their own information obtained scientifically. So the purpose of this study is to find out how to implement the guided discovery learning model in an effort to improve students' abilities in terms of critical thinking. This research uses a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a factorial design model. The treatment variable is the guided discovery learning method, the dependent variable is the level of critical thinking and motivation as the moderator variable. Based on the results of this study, the implementation of the guided discovery learning method is able to improve students' critical thinking. this is evidenced by the probability value of 0.00 α = 0.05, Ho, and sig 0.002 α = 0.05, Ho means that there are differences in the level of students' critical thinking between classes using guided discovery learning methods and classes using conventional methods.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has had a major influence on the world of education. Currently, it's not just journalists who can spread the news, ordinary people can also do it with social media. This role is referred to as citizen journalism. they can assist the media in disseminating information by using Smartphones. The development of smartphone camera technology is of great benefit to the dissemination of citizen journalism information. The performance of the camera on the smartphone has good image quality. Photos have significant value because they capture moments that will never happen again. With a camera on a smartphone, everyone can become a photographer and can become a Citizen Journalist. Current photography activities do not have to have or use a professional camera, but instead make more use of smart phone cameras that are used to capture existing events and inform them on bad luck media.
