Abstract

The existence of a generator set is very important if there is a reduction in the main electricity supply from PLN which is conducting a blackout or under repair, then the generator set becomes an alternative power supply for electricity backup that ensures all service units at PIP Makassar are not hampered. So the role of generator facility maintenance in supplying electricity sources is very much needed to support performance, so efficiency is needed in the maintenance management process, especially on the CAT C.32 type generator set with a power capacity of 800 KVA which supports all activities in the simulator and other units. The purpose of this study is to analyze the burden of electricity supply needs on the service unit and to find out the right actions in maintaining the generator set engine components in the simulator so as not to hinder activities towards the learning process. However, other rooms do not have adequate generator supply or are not even available at all maximally based on the needs of the room/unit but are only concentrated on the simulator generator set supply unit. This results in an overload on the generator set which can cause serious damage to its internal component system, which makes the engine and alternator work harder, and are at risk of overheating, decreased efficiency, and even functional failure. That there has been a use of electric current of 401,370 watts or 1,825 amperes (50%), the simulator of 267,320 watts or 1,215 watts (33%), the Workshop of 114,088 or 519 amperes (14%) and the Mosque of 37,600 watts or 171 amperes (5%), so that the availability of generator power is 800 KW and has exceeded the use of 94 amperes or 102% with the category of Attention or overload.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the efficiency of using solar cells in non-conventional ship electrical systems. The method that will be used in the research is the use of primary data and secondary data which will provide a comprehensive approach in this research. Based on the analysis above, a system with solar cells can produce Wh of energy per day, to meet daily energy needs with Wh of the Watts used every day. By using the battery capacity, the system has very large energy reserves, allowing the system to be used every day and will be very efficient in meeting load needs, with excess energy capacity. With a generator capacity with more than enough Wattage to meet the daily energy needs of the existing load, this means there is excess energy that can be stored in the generator.

Abstract

The enactment of Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning the Ratification of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 on Job Creation into Law requires that any permanent utilization of marine space must have basic permit for marine spatial utilization activities (KKPRL). The process of granting KKPRL permit is carried out by assessing the conformity of activities with the guidelines for zoning water space utilization based on the Regional Spatial Plan issued by the Provincial Government. The lack of information regarding the guidelines for marine space utilization causes applicants for marine space utilization activities to be unaware of the guidelines that can be applied to the location, thus hindering the process of issuing the KKPRL permit. The research aims to design a digitalization system for providing spatial utilization guidelines documents in the work area of BPSPL Makassar, which can be accessed online by marine space utilization stakeholders. This will facilitate checking the conformity of marine space utilization activities and accelerate the process of issuing the KKPRL permit. As an initial step, a digitalization system for marine spatial utilization guidelines was designed for two provinces in the work area of BPSPL Makassar, which have integrated the marine spatial planning and land spatial planning into Regional Spatial Plan (RTRWP), namely South Sulawesi Province and Central Sulawesi Province. This initial design will continue to be developed in line with the availability of RTRWP integration documents in four other provinces within the work area of BPSPL Makassar. Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with more water surface than land and, in addition, its territory is located between three plates: the Indo-Australian, the Eurasian and the Pacific. This makes Indonesia a country with high volcanic and seismic activity. The abundant news related to mega-earthquakes has made many Indonesians wary of these phenomena. The Sunda Strait is one of the places where megathrustings are expected to occur, and Banten, being a province located in the ocean of the Sunda Strait, makes the level of vigilance high. The modeling process related to tsunami is a representation that can visualize if a large earthquake occurs and causes a tsunami, especially in the coastal area of Labuan subdistrict. The objective of this research is to determine the temporary evacuation spots in tsunami affected areas using tsunami modeling performed with COMCOT (Cornell Multi-grid Coupled Tsunami Grid). The modeling results obtained a wave height to the shoreline of 15 meters with a period to the shoreline of 60 minutes.  Twelve temporary evacuation spots (TES) were determined in this study, 9 of the 12 spots become safe TES because the point has a higher ground level and is out of the inundation range.

Abstract

Panimbang sub-district is one of the areas affected by the tsunami in 2018, located directly opposite the Krakatau Volcano and close to the Sunda Strait subduction zone (megathrust), making it an area with a high threat of tsunami levels. This study aims to determine the impact of coastal forests in reducing tsunamis using COMCOT modeling as one of the mitigation efforts. The tsunami generator used uses the worst scenario earthquake that can occur in the Sunda Strait subduction zone area. The results show that the coastal forest in Panimbang sub-district with a width of 380 m can reduce the tsunami velocity by 50% compared to the coastal forest with a width of 30 m. In addition, the manning coefficient (n) value also has an influence in reducing the inundation area, inundation level height, and tsunami velocity.

Abstract

Coral reefs are vital ecosystems that support marine biodiversity but face increasing threats from human activities and climate change. Artificial reefs (ARs) are proposed as a mitigation strategy to replicate the functions of natural reefs (NRs). This study compares the effectiveness of ARs and NRs in supporting the abundance of Chaetodontidae indicator fish in Sental Village, Nusa Penida. A quantitative approach was applied using the Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) method to analyze coral cover and the Underwater Visual Census (UVC) to measure Chaetodontidae abundance. Data were collected from ARs, NRs, and Rubble Fields (RFs), representing degraded reef areas. The results showed that ARs had the highest coral cover (36%), followed by NRs (32%) and RFs (5%). Moderate species diversity was observed in ARs (H' = 1,210) and NRs (H' = 0,970), while RFs exhibited low diversity (H' = 0.702) and high dominance (C = 0.726). ARs supported the highest Chaetodontidae abundance (0.34–0.57 ind/m²), indicating healthier coral conditions compared to NRs and RFs. Regression analysis revealed a strong positive relationship between coral cover and Chaetodontidae abundance, with a determination coefficient of R² = 0.9932. The study concluded that ARs effectively support biodiversity and Chaetodontidae abundance, although they do not fully replicate the ecological complexity of NRs. Chaetodon kleinii was identified as the dominant species across all reef types due to its high ecological flexibility. These findings underscore the importance of ARs in coral reef restoration and conservation efforts to maintain marine biodiversity.
