Abstract

This study discusses how Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO) consumerism occurs in Teenage TikTok users in Kalabbirang Village, Takalar Regency, as a social, psychological, and digital cultural phenomenon that not only reflects the fear of being left behind, but also shapes the consumption behavior and lifestyle of teenagers in Kalabbirang Village. This study aims to identify Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO) and analyze the determinants of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) in the consumerism behavior of teenagers using the TikTok platform in Kalabbirang Village, Takalar Regency. To achieve this goal, this study was carried out using a descriptive qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, with informants who are active teenagers using TikTok in Kalabbirang Village with an age range of 15-19 years, as well as several parents of informants as additional data. The results of the study show that (1) Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO) consumerism of adolescent TikTok users in Kalabbirang Village is a social, psychological, and digital cultural phenomenon that shapes adolescent consumption behavior and lifestyle that appears in the form of fear of being left behind by trends, anxiety about not following recommendations from influencers and friends, and the urge to own viral goods, which are then manifested through impulsive purchases, increased spending, and dependence on product recommendation content, ultimately forming a consumptive lifestyle to show self-existence and social connectedness (2) Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO) consumerism of adolescent TikTok users in Kalabbirang Village is formed from internal factors in the form of searching for identity, self-confidence, and the need for social recognition, as well as external factors such as the influence of influencers, peer pressure, TikTok Shop features, and the socio-economic environment. The objectives of the study were to (1) Analyze the learning model of discovery learning assisted by Canva media that influences the learning activities of class V students of MIN 1 Makassar City. (2) Analyze the learning model of discovery learning assisted by Canva media that influences the learning outcomes of class V students of MIN 1 Makassar City. (3) To analyze the learning model of discovery learning assisted by Canva media that influences the activities and learning outcomes of class V students of MIN 1 Makassar City. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a Nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study was all class V of MIN 1 Makassar City with each class V student totaling 100 students. The random sampling technique was used to determine the research sample by drawing lots, so that class VA with 25 students was the experimental class and class VC with 25 students was the control class. The data obtained were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, then continued with hypothesis testing using the t-test and MANOVA test. The results of the study showed that; (i) The discovery learning learning model assisted by Canva media has a significant effect on the learning activities of class V students of MIN 1 Makassar City. The t-test results show that the significance value (Sig = 0.000) is smaller than the specified alpha value of 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). (2) The discovery learning learning model assisted by Canva media has a significant effect on the science learning outcomes of class V students of MIN 1 Makassar City. The t-test results show that the significance value (Sig = 0.002) is smaller than the specified alpha value of 0.05 (0.002 < 0.05). (3) The discovery learning learning model assisted by Canva media has a significant effect on the science learning activities and outcomes of class V students of MIN 1 Makassar City. The results of One-way Multivariate Analysis of Variance (One-way MANOVA) show that all statistics have a very significant value with a p-value (Sig.) = .000. This indicates that the intercept significantly influences the dependent variable. It can be concluded that the discovery learning model assisted by Canva media has a significant effect on the activities and science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at MIN 1 Makassar City.

Abstract

Online gambling remains a serious problem among college students. Students who should be focused on learning and developing academic competencies are potentially distracted by addictive online gambling activities. This study aims to identify the factors that drive students to engage in online gambling and the impacts of online gambling. The method used was a descriptive qualitative approach with a purposive sampling technique involving 10 student informants from various campuses in Makassar City. The results showed that factors that drive students to engage in online gambling include: a) peer factors, b) social media exposure, and c) economic factors. The impacts of online gambling experienced by students include: a) stress and anxiety, b) repeated losses, and c) decreased academic performance. Therefore, students need to be provided with an understanding and education regarding the dangers of online gambling on their financial, psychological, and academic conditions. Digital literacy and financial literacy education are important steps to help students understand that gambling is not an economic solution, but rather a high-risk activity that can lead to repeated losses and addiction.

Abstract

Masyarakat To Bentong di Kabupaten Barru merupakan komunitas adat yang tetap mempertahankan tradisi di tengah perubahan sosial dan arus modernisasi. Identitas kolektif mereka ditopang oleh Bahasa Bentong, keberadaan To Balo, serta praktik Massagala yang merefleksikan relasi antara adat dan Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana ketiga unsur tersebut membentuk dan mereproduksi identitas budaya masyarakat To Bentong sebagai satu kesatuan sistem kebudayaan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tipe deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi di Dusun Lapatemmu, Desa Bulo-Bulo, Kabupaten Barru. Analisis dilakukan secara tematik melalui proses reduksi, kategorisasi, dan interpretasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Bahasa Bentong berfungsi sebagai simbol kohesi dan batas sosial, To Balo merepresentasikan konstruksi makna antara realitas biologis dan tafsir kultural-spiritual, sementara Massagala menjadi ruang integrasi adat dan Islam yang mengalami transformasi dari orientasi mistis menuju fungsi sosial, moral, dan ekologis. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa ketiga elemen tersebut membentuk “segitiga kebudayaan” yang menopang identitas To Bentong secara berkelanjutan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa tradisi lokal dapat bertransformasi secara adaptif tanpa kehilangan makna dasarnya dalam konteks masyarakat Muslim.

Abstract

The This research is motivated by the increasing use of online games among elementary school students which has a negative impact on children's empathy. Preliminary observations at SD Muhammadiyah Perumnas indicated that most fifth-grade students spent excessive time playing online games, thereby neglecting social interactions. This study aims to examine the effect of online game addiction level on the empathy of students at SD Muhammadiyah Perumnas. The method used was a quantitative approach with a correlational ex post facto design. The population and sample of the study consisted of 20 fifth-grade students using total sampling technique. Data collection instruments included validated online game addiction questionnaires and empathy questionnaires based on Likert scale. Data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique. The results showed that the correlation coefficient (rxy) = -0.928, indicating a very strong negative relationship between online game addiction level and students' empathy. The contribution of the online game addiction variable to empathy was 86%. Based on the hypothesis test, rhitung (0.928) > rtabel (0.444) at significance level 5%, indicating a significant effect of online game addiction level on the empathy of students at SD Muhammadiyah Perumnas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the communication strategies of Public Relations (PR) at PT Semen Padang in building corporate image and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation of the company’s communication activities. The findings reveal that the PR function is positioned under the Corporate Communication and Secretariat Unit, which is divided into three main sections: household affairs, communication and institutional-external relations, and protocol. In implementing its role, PR categorizes stakeholders based on business processes, including upstream (government and regulatory aspects), operational processes (vendors and private partners), and downstream (distributors and end consumers). The main finding indicates that the communication strategy is predominantly emotional and dialogic, emphasizing mediation as a primary approach in conflict resolution. This strategy is implemented through active involvement in social programs, collaboration with government institutions, and interpersonal engagement with communities and educational institutions. These approaches have proven effective in building a positive corporate image, enhancing stakeholder trust, and ensuring organizational sustainability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas konstruksi sosial perempuan dalam budaya Bugis yang berada pada persimpangan antara nilai adat dan sistem patriarki. Konsep siri’ dan pacce menempatkan perempuan sebagai penjaga kehormatan keluarga sekaligus simbol moralitas, namun pada saat yang sama, struktur patriarki membatasi ruang gerak mereka melalui pembatasan akses ke ruang publik, penerapan standar moral ganda, serta dominasi laki-laki dalam pengambilan keputusan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif-interpretatif melalui analisis literatur, dokumen budaya, dan hasil penelitian terdahulu. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun perempuan Bugis sering dikonstruksi secara subordinatif, mereka tetap memiliki ruang untuk menegosiasikan identitas dan perannya, baik melalui pendidikan, mobilitas sosial, maupun reinterpretasi nilai adat. Dengan demikian, perempuan Bugis tidak hanya menjadi objek dalam sistem budaya, tetapi juga aktor aktif dalam mendefinisikan ulang makna adat di tengah struktur patriarki. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya penguatan literasi gender berbasis kearifan lokal serta pelibatan tokoh adat dalam mendorong transformasi nilai menuju keadilan gender yang inklusif.

Abstract

The ability to memorize short surahs is an important aspect in developing religious and moral values in early childhood education. Early exposure to Qur'anic memorization can stimulate cognitive development, memory, and spiritual awareness in children. However, many children experience difficulties in memorizing Qur'anic verses due to the lack of appropriate learning methods. One method that can support memorization activities is the Wafa method, which emphasizes rhythm, repetition, and engaging learning approaches suitable for early childhood. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Wafa method in improving the ability of children aged 5–6 years to memorize short surahs at TK Bina Insani Dumai. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers and children in the learning process. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Wafa method can improve children's ability to memorize short surahs. The improvement is seen from children's ability to repeat verses, follow the rhythm of recitation, and memorize surahs more easily and enthusiastically. The learning process becomes more interactive because the method integrates rhythm, gestures, repetition, and storytelling. Therefore, the Wafa method can be used as an effective learning strategy in improving Qur'anic memorization ability in early childhood education

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Gowa dengan tipe kepribadian Judging. Kemampuan berpikir kritis dianalisis menggunakan empat indikator Facione (2020), yaitu interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, dan inferensi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan satu subjek terpilih bertipe kepribadian Judging berdasarkan hasil angket MBTI dimensi Judging-Perceiving. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan berpikir kritis berbentuk soal uraian dan wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek dengan tipe kepribadian Judging memenuhi seluruh indikator berpikir kritis dengan sangat baik. Pada indikator interpretasi, subjek mampu mengidentifikasi seluruh informasi secara lengkap dan terencana. Pada indikator analisis, subjek menggunakan strategi penyelesaian secara sistematis dan runtut. Pada indikator evaluasi, subjek secara aktif memverifikasi setiap langkah sebelum mengambil kesimpulan. Pada indikator inferensi, subjek mampu merumuskan kesimpulan yang komprehensif, logis, dan kontekstual. Karakteristik terstruktur, tegas, dan berorientasi pada hasil yang tuntas dari tipe kepribadian Judging terbukti berkaitan erat dengan tingginya kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa.

Abstract

Amid the strengthening agenda of Indonesia Emas 2045, students are no longer positioned merely as objects of development but as strategic actors who actively contribute to shaping the nation’s future. This study aims to analyze the contribution of Muhammadiyah students in realizing Indonesia Emas 2045 through media coverage on Khittah.co regarding the movement of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM) in South Sulawesi. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. The data are derived from news articles on Khittah.co that report on the activities of IPM South Sulawesi at various leadership levels, including regional, district, and branch levels, collected through documentation techniques. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing using Pierre Bourdieu’s Capital Theory as an analytical framework. The results show that the contributions of Muhammadiyah students in the IPM South Sulawesi movement are represented through four main narratives: educational transformation, social solidarity and humanitarianism, strengthening youth leadership, and ecological awareness. These four narratives reflect the accumulation of cultural capital, social capital, and symbolic capital developed by IPM South Sulawesi in building human resources from an early age. This contribution affirms the role of IPM South Sulawesi as a strategic actor in supporting the realization of an inclusive and sustainable Indonesia Emas 2045, not only through strengthening intellectual capacity but also through the formation of character, social ethics, and environmental awareness.
