Abstract

Purpose – The purpose of this research is to address the issue of low student performance in the Pancasila Education subject, as identified through observations and interviews at SD 1 Jepang. The Mid-Semester Assessment results showed that students did not meet the school's Learning Objective Completion Criteria of 75. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in Pancasila Education by implementing the assisted talking stick model with the media question box.Method – The research method employed is Classroom Action Research, carried out in class IV at Elementary School 1 Jepang with 20 students over two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. Each cycle involves stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The data is analyzed quantitatively based on test results and qualitatively through interviews and observations conducted in the pre-cycle.Findings – The results of this study demonstrate that the use of the Talking Stick model, supported by the Question Box media, can enhance student learning outcomes. This is evident from the success indicators, where student performance improved from 75% with "good" criteria in cycle I to 85% with "very good" criteria in cycle II. These findings confirm that the Talking Stick model, assisted by Question Box media, effectively boosts the learning outcomes of class IV students at SD 1 Jepang. Research Implications – This study suggests that teachers should enhance their use of innovative teaching methods and incorporate diverse learning media to improve student learning outcomes in the Pancasila Education subject.

Abstract

Purpose – The low learning achievement of class III students at SDN 1 Bulungcangkring is due to teacher-centered instruction and the use of conventional learning models lacking innovation. This study aims to examine the impact of the Role-Playing learning model, assisted by Rotar media, on student achievement. The Role-Playing method fosters engaging and enjoyable learning, encouraging student participation, while Rotar media enhances enthusiasm and motivation.Method – This study employed a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design, with 33 grade III students as the sample. A paired t-test was used to analyze the differences between pretest and posttest scores, determining the effect of the treatment on learning achievement. Data were collected through observation and interviews.Findings – The study revealed that implementing the Role-Playing learning model assisted by Rotar media significantly improved student learning achievement across all aspects: cognitive (from 42.33 to 73.18), affective (from 42.88 to 76.82), and psychomotor (from 51.48 to 75.82). These results can serve as a reference for teachers in selecting effective methods to enhance student achievement and promote educational policies that prioritize student-centered learning innovations. Research Implications – This study provides a reference for teachers to implement effective, student-centered learning methods and may guide the development of educational policies. However, the limited sample size calls for further research across more diverse schools.

Abstract

Purpose – The aim of this research is to examine the leadership management of school principals in implementing the Independent Curriculum at SDN Babakanpanjang.Method – The research method used is descriptive qualitative with analysis techniques based on the Miles and Huberman model involving data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research subjects were selected using a purposive sampling method consisting of the principal, 2 learning committees, grade 2 teachers, and grade 5 teachers at SDN Babakanpanjang.Findings – The results of the study indicate that the principal plays an important role as a motivator in developing the Independent Curriculum. This motivation is not only in the form of moral encouragement and work enthusiasm, but also in the form of concrete support such as training, awards and professional development opportunities. The principal supports teachers to take part in training and activities related to the curriculum, as well as providing motivation and supervision in making teaching modules and teaching aids. In addition, the principal also conducts periodic evaluations to assess teacher performance and the success of curriculum implementation. Research Implications – The implication of this study is the importance of principal leadership in supporting and developing the Independent Curriculum. The principal must be able to mobilize all school resources to achieve quality education goals and create a conducive and enjoyable learning atmosphere. This study provides insight for educators and policy makers about effective strategies in implementing the Independent Curriculum and Education Management in driving schools.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine the implementation of the Tahfidz Qur’an program, its supporting and inhibiting factors, intervention approaches, and the assessment results of students’ Qur’an memorization at MTs N 1 Yogyakarta.Method – A qualitative descriptive method was used in this study. The research informants included the vice-principal of curriculum, Tahfidz Qur’an coordinator, Tahfidz Qur’an teachers, admissions committee, and Tahfidz Qur’an students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data validity was ensured using source and technique triangulation. Data analysis techniques consisted of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.Findings – The Tahfidz Qur’an program is conducted from 05:45 to 07:15, with memorization sessions twice a week and muraja’ah (review) every two weeks. Supporting factors include support and cooperation from various parties, student motivation, a conducive environment, and the use of specific Qur’anic scripts. Inhibiting factors consist of inaccurate Qur’an recitations, laziness, challenging or similar verses, heavy schoolwork, tardiness, and talking with friends during lessons. Mitigation strategies to address these challenges include providing tahsin (correction of recitation), teacher motivation, patience, effective time management, punctuality, and focus on muraja’ah in class. The assessment results show that the average memorization achievement is categorized as good (67%), fluency as good (44%), articulation (makhraj) as good (53%), tajweed as good (54%), effort as very good (50%), and manners as very good (65%). Research Implications – This study offers a deeper insight into the implementation of Tahfidz programs in middle schools, which can be used to enhance the quality of religious education in similar institutions.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to identify and deeply understand cases of relational bullying in Indonesia, specifically at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Darun Najah Gading using spiritually-based educational approaches as an intervention to reduce bullying behavior among students.Method – This research employs a qualitative descriptive method. The approach used to understand relational bullying is spiritual-based education. The research was conducted at MI Darun Najah Gading. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques at MI Darun Najah Gading. The data analysis methods employed in this study are based on the Miles and Huberman model, which includes steps such as data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion formulation, with the findings presented in a descriptive narrative format.Findings – The research findings indicate that a spirituality-based educational approach can serve as an effective strategy to address relational bullying. This approach is implemented through religious activities aimed at fostering students' closeness to God and strengthening their relationships with peers. The program is considered effective in shaping students' character to become more tolerant, empathetic, and respectful of one another, thereby reducing instances of relational bullying. Research Implications – This research provides significant contributions to the development of anti-bullying programs in schools, particularly those with a religious foundation. The practical implications suggest that a spiritually based educational approach can serve as an effective solution in addressing bullying issues, especially within Islamic educational settings. The implementation of similar programs in other schools could be considered as a sustainable effort to prevent relational bullying.

Abstract

Purpose – This research aims to develop an Aswaja An-Nahdliyyah learning module based on Competitive Learning, integrated with the Independent Learning curriculum. The focus of this research is to improve the quality of Aswaja's teaching by emphasizing moderate and inclusive Islamic values to ward off radicalism.Method – The approach used is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) which involves five stages: Discovery, Dream, Design, Define, and Destiny. The development process of this module is carried out by identifying community assets, as well as involving educators in the design process. The results were evaluated through a validity test with 2 experts and effectiveness using a paired t-test using SPSS.Findings – The validation results show that this module is considered feasible by experts with an average score of 4.36. The effectiveness of the modules was tested through pre-test and post-test. The average pre-test score was 194 with a standard deviation 483, while the post-test increased to 354 with a standard deviation 382. The correlation between the pre-test and post-test of 0.671 shows a strong relationship between students' initial understanding and results after using the module. The paired t-test produced a t-value of -24.146 with p<0.001, indicating a significant difference between the pre-test and the post-test. Research Implications – These findings show the potential for the development of local curricula based on moderate values to shape a more inclusive character of students. The implications of this research are relevant in creating more efficient and competitive-based teaching methods, but limited samples and limited access to technology pose challenges in wider application.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to address the gap in human resource management within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) by developing a quality assurance model based on supply and demand estimation and resourcing strategy. It evaluates the model's effectiveness and its potential to modernize pesantren while preserving their core values.Method – This study Utilizing a research and development (R&D) approach, this study combines qualitative and quantitative methods to develop and test the model. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and observations, analyzed using descriptive statistics and interval calculations to measure effectiveness.Findings – This study demonstrates that the human resource quality assurance model based on supply and demand estimation at Pondok Pesantren Al Jauhar is effective in improving HR quality, relevant, and flexible in addressing modernization challenges without neglecting traditional pesantren values. Research Implications – This study implies the need for reorienting human resource development, enhancing motivation, integrating technology into management, and conducting continuous evaluations.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine the implementation of cross-curricular learning in enhancing literacy skills at MIN 1 Trenggalek (an  Islamic elementary school), focusing on how the integration of subjects such as environmental awareness, Indonesian language, and Islamic religious education supports the development of literacy, critical thinking, and collaboration skills. This study also identifies the challenges encountered in implementation and provides practical recommendations for educators and policymakers.Method – A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, using interviews, observations, and document analysis to gather data from teachers and administrators. Triangulation was used to validate the findings. Data analysis involved reducing, presenting, and verifying the data to draw meaningful conclusions.Findings – The findings at MIN 1 Trenggalek reveal that implementing cross-curricular learning through thematic integration, which combines multiple subjects under a relevant topic such as the theme "Water and Life" involving science, mathematics, and Indonesian language, effectively enhances students' literacy, critical thinking, and collaboration skills. Students also actively participate in practical and extracurricular activities, such as community clean-up initiatives under the theme "Environmental Cleanliness and Health," which connect science, civics, and reflective writing tasks. This approach not only strengthens students’ academic skills but also integrates religious values into real-life contexts, creating meaningful and applicable learning experiences. Research Implications – This study highlights the potential of cross-curricular learning in faith-based primary schools to improve academic and spiritual literacy. It emphasizes the need for structured teacher training to ensure effective implementation aligned with institutional values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of religiosity, location, and social factors on students' choices in choosing the Arabic Language Study Program at STIM Surakarta. The approach used is qualitative with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using a thematic approach to understand the influence of the three factors. The results of the study show that student religiosity is the main driver in choosing this study program, supported by the strategic location of the campus and social factors such as family and community support. This study provides insight for study program managers to design strategies to increase attractiveness based on these factors. On the other hand, the religiosity factor has a smaller influence than the other two factors.

Abstract

This article discusses the integration of Roman Jakobson's model in learning ma'ani science, a branch of balaghah science that studies the meaning and structure of language in the context of effective communication. Jakobson's model, known as the six functions of language, is seen as a relevant tool to enrich students' understanding and skills in utilizing language appropriately and effectively. A contextual approach is used to relate Jakobson's theory to everyday communication situations, so that students can more easily understand the application of ma'ani science in dynamic social, cultural and language contexts. This study suggests that by integrating Jakobson's model, teaching ma'ani science can become more interactive, relevant, and applicable, and improve students' ability to analyze and produce meaningful language. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of more innovative curriculum and methods of teaching balaghah.
