Abstract

Delays that occur at intersections greatly affect the performance of the road network. The more intersections there are, the greater the delay value will be. One of the intersections in Malang City is the three unsignalized intersections of Muharto Road, Ki ageng Gribig Road, and Mayjend Sungkono Road or also called the Kedungkandang intersection which is the research location. The research aims to determine the performance and project problems at the Kedungkandang Intersection. The data used in the study include road geometric data, traffic volume, acceptance gap, population, and vehicle growth. Based on the 1997 MKJI guide, the results of the study show that the Kedungkandang intersection is included in the level of service criteria C (DS 1.52) with an intersection delay value of 23.29 sec /mp. Based on the processing of gap data with the Raff method, the gap value is 15.1 seconds for the morning, 16.3 seconds for the afternoon, and 17.2 seconds for the afternoon, thus indicating that driver behavior must wait for a gap when entering the main road. The projection results with the placement of right-turn prohibition signs and geometric widening of Muharto Road and Ki Ageng Gribig Road obtained a level of service value of B (DS 0.69) with an Intersection Delay Value of 12.40 sec/smp. Abstract

Even though special bicycle lanes have been provided, there are still many obstacles that make the provision of these lanes ineffective. Problem parking vehicles in bicycle lanes, as well as the lack of awareness of motorists who use special bicycle lanes, can threaten the safety of their users. Based on the results of the analysis using the IPA (Importance Performance Analysis) method, it is known that the highest service suitability level includes attractive bicycle path designs, harmonious land use and vegetation, and green or white colors on the bicycle lane symbol. The IPA method is divided into four quadrants where quadrant one has low satisfaction while the level of importance is high. There are signs for cyclists, command and prohibition signs, street lighting, backrests that allow bicycles to be locked, cyclists are prioritized over motorists, and height and pavement materials are safe for cyclists, therefore improvements need to be made to create special lanes a bicycle that can bring a sense of security and comfort to the user. Abstract

Elevated temperatures are often resulting a problem of thermal comfort in hot humid climates, especially in urban areas that have high building densities. The lack of variety of window opening elements in utilizing natural ventilation often occurs in residential areas. This study aims to determine the combination of window opening elements and shading elements that can increase airspeed. This experimental research used CFD computer software to help simulate airflow. The results of this study found that the best combination is the use of sliding windows with 0.5m shading elements attached to the façade. However, the increase in airspeed in the room still does not meet the minimum speed standards based on the microclimate requirements. Keywords: Simulation; Facade; Openings; Shading; Airspeed.

Abstract

When using floodgates, which can waste water or even cause a shortage if not used properly, it is crucial to pay attention to the regulation of irrigation water. setting up In this study, the Internet of Things (IoT)-based technology can be used to measure when the floodgates open. Farmers that use this technology can better manage water in irrigation systems and planting systems. This study examines the mathematical relationship between the height of irrigation gates based on the Internet of Things and the hydraulics of the flow in the irrigation canals of Sukoanyar Village, Pakis District. Each door opening height has six points, with four points occurring before the door and two points following the door. The size of the sluice gate, the topography of the canal, and the speed of the water flow are the data that were analyzed for this study. The calculation of the channel geometry values comes first in the analysis process, which is followed by the processing of the flow velocity values for each experimental result. The goal of the five experiments conducted at each place was to directly measure the flow velocity using current meter equipment. Using a nonlinear equation mathematical analysis, the study's findings revealed that the height of the irrigation sluice gate (IoT) has an impact on the change in the canal's dynamics value. Abstract

Aggregates from Sampang are still rarely used in flexible pavement. Therefore, this research is to identify the effects of coarse aggregate and soft aggregate from Sampang – Madura, to recognize their performance in the HRS – WC mixture. It adopted Bina Marga General Standards 2010, Division 6 (Revision 3) for HRS – WC mixture, by testing the physical characteristic of coarse aggregate and soft aggregate from Sampang (in terms of specific gravity and absorption, coarse aggregate wear and tear, and sieve passing Nr. 200) and Marshall Characteristic Testing with asphalt content variables of 6%, 6,5%, 7%, 7,5%, and 8% of the total mixture, each with 3 tested objects. With reference to the physical aggregate characteristic, it was found that the coarse aggregate satisfied the specification standard. On the other hand, the value of the specific gravity of the soft aggregate was still lower than the specification standard, i.e., 2,25 gram/cm2, while the minimum standard was 2,5 gram/cm3. It definitely affected the performance of the HRS – WC mixture. As the volume of the mixture was larger and left a larger cavity in the mixture, it required larger content of asphalt in order to generate a mixture qualifying the Bina Marga General Standards 2010, Division 6 (Revision 3). Based on the results of Marshall Test Characteristic Testing, it was found that the optimum content of asphalt was 8% of the total mixture.
