Abstract

This mentoring is based on the constraints faced by students, namely that many graduates from higher education institutions lack the skills sought by companies, making it difficult for them to compete in the job market. This problem forms the basis of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka policy. The Kampus Merdeka policy encompasses several important issues that need to be addressed. Firstly, the demand for changes in the education system. Secondly, the need for improvements in the quality of education. Thirdly, the need to empower the quality of students. Lastly, the enhancement of students' innovation and creativity. The mentoring activities for the Kampus Merdeka internship process are based on the needs of students regarding the importance of having supervising lecturers who can serve as consultation points to ensure the success and effectiveness of the program. These mentoring activities are carried out from August to December 2023. The purpose of implementing this mentoring process is to ensure that a total of 50 students under the guidance of lecturers can successfully complete the program at the Secretariat General of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia. The mentoring activities are carried out using three methods: mentoring, consultation and evaluation, as well as documentation and reporting. The results of this mentoring process indicate an improvement in the quality of internship students from the scores they obtained. Out of the five indicators set, initially, students received a score of 70 for three competencies: communication, results orientation, and specific competencies. Meanwhile, the other two competencies received a score of 80, namely cooperation and integrity. In the final results, all students received a score of 90 for four competency indicators, and for the competency of specific skills, students received a score of 85.

Abstract

In today's era of globalization, where the boundaries between countries are increasingly blurred and international trade is on the rise, it is important for students to understand the export-import skills. With a strong understanding of international trade, students can expand their career opportunities, broaden their insights into global markets, help address social and environmental challenges related to international trade, expand their professional networks, and become responsible global citizens. A policy that can accommodate students' needs regarding the above issues is the Kampus Merdeka policy. The mentoring activities for the studi independen process of Kampus Merdeka are based on the needs of students regarding the importance of having supervising lecturers who can serve as consultation points to ensure the success and effectiveness of the program. This mentoring activity is carried out during the period from February to April 2024. The objective of implementing this mentoring process is to ensure that a total of 50 students under the guidance of lecturers can successfully complete the program at Yayasan Sekolah Ekspor Nasional. The mentoring activities are conducted using three methods: mentoring, consultation and evaluation, as well as documentation and reporting. The results of this mentoring process indicate that out of the 8 competencies offered by the partners, students obtained the highest average scores in the export payment and documentation competency with a score of 91.2 and Continuous Improvement with a score of 96.8. Meanwhile, the two competencies with the lowest average scores are Export Logistics with a score of 65 and Export Research and Strategy with a score of 65.6. The recommendations include the creation of a learning calendar by the Kampus Merdeka team and partners, should also be communicated to the program's mentor and lecturer, and the coordination between  mentor and the lecturer needs to be improved.

Abstract

Banjarwaru village is one of the villages in Cilacap district with the potential for wooden broom handle craft commodities. The processing of mahogany wood (Swietenia mahagoni) into broom handles produces wood waste that has not been utilized optimally. The accumulation of wood waste is caused by a lack of knowledge among the Banjarwaru village woodworking community regarding the potential dangers, benefits, and economic value of wood waste. Therefore, training in wood waste processing into value-added products such as particleboard is needed. The Community service team together with BUMDes Banjarwaru carried out mentoring activities as a solution method for utilizing wood waste. The mentoring activities carried out consist of educating the negative effects of wood waste on the environment, educating the potential and benefits of wood waste in another processed forms, and training in wood waste processing into particleboard. Abstract

Natural and non-natural disasters occurring in the world continue to increase unpredictably. Considering that disasters can occur at any time, community preparedness in facing disasters is very important. However, the research results show that community preparedness still needs to be improved. This condition also occurs with service partners. Even though Panti Village area is a disaster-prone area, public awareness of disaster preparedness is still low. However, on the other hand, partners have the potential to be developed, namely the existence of Disaster Preparedness Village Youth (DESTANA) which is expected to become a driving force to increase public awareness of disaster preparedness. The solution offered to overcome this problem is to increase community awareness and ability to prepare for disasters through collaboration with DESTANA and BPBD. The activities carried out include health education about disaster management and continued with simulations of disaster emergency management such as the evacuation process when a disaster occurs, dressing splints and simple wound care when a disaster occurs, as well as planting trees as a reforestation effort to prevent flooding. The results show that public knowledge about disaster management increased after being given health education to 77.8% and the remaining 22.2% had fairly good knowledge. After the simulation, the community's skills in evacuating disaster victims became better (82.2% had good skills). Community skills increased by 48.9% of people were able to do simple splint dressing after the simulation. After being given a wound care simulation, people's skills increased by 40% to become skilled at carrying out wound care. Health education and disaster management simulations need to be provided regularly by health workers through collaboration with DESTANA as a disaster prevention mitigation effort.

Abstract

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum (IKM) at the basic education level is divided into three stages of learning outcomes, namely phase A, phase B, and phase C. The flow of learning objectives (ATP) is a new way as a "syllabus", namely for planning, setting learning and assessment in outline according to the characteristics and competencies developed by each subject at the end of each phase. This form of service is carried out in collaboration with SD Muhammadiyah Kaliwates (SD HAMKA), which is one of the educational business charities of Muhammadiyah which has only been established for 3 years in Jember. By using participatory assistance methods, implementation is carried out in 4 stages, namely needs mapping, pumped group discussions with experts, mentoring and evaluation. During the pumped group discussion, it was known that there were obstacles in the implementation of activities. First, the implementation of IKM in classes 1 and 2 only, while class 3 still uses K13. The 3rd grade teacher hasn't understood yet. Second, SD HAMKA has not appointed grade 4 teachers as partners for grade 3 teachers in formulating ATP in phase B. This makes it difficult for grade 3 teachers to develop ATP. The third obstacle, teachers experience limited time and means to complete ATP development.
