Abstract

Dental and oral health issues, particularly dental caries, remain a significant health problem in preschool-aged children. Poor independent and correct tooth-brushing skills increase the risk of tooth decay. One effective way to improve tooth-brushing skills is through health education using interactive video media. This study aimed to determine the effect of health education using video media on improving tooth-brushing skills in preschool-aged children at Nur Handayani Kindergarten, Telaga Biru District. The study design used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest method. The subjects were 41 children aged 5-6 years. Health education was provided through interactive video media for 30-60 minutes. Data collection was conducted through observations before and after the intervention. Data analysis used the non-parametric Wilcoxon statistical test due to the non-normal distribution of the data. Before the intervention, the majority of respondents (78%) had poor tooth-brushing skills. After the provision of health education using video media, there was a significant increase, with the proportion of good categories reaching 46.3% and sufficient categories reaching 48.8%. The Wilcoxon test showed a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), proving that the intervention had a statistically significant effect on improving tooth-brushing skills. Health education using video media effectively improved tooth-brushing skills in preschool-aged children. Interactive video media captured children's attention and facilitated their understanding of proper tooth-brushing techniques.

Abstract

Electronic Medical Record (RME) is a digital system that aims to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of health services in hospitals. The Government of Indonesia requires all health facilities, including Otanaha Hospital, to implement RME according to the latest regulations. This study aims to describe the success of the implementation of RME at Otanaha Hospital.A type of descriptive research with quantitative methods. A sample of 113 health workers and administrative staff was selected proportionally simple random. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews, analyzed descriptively. The results of the study showed that the implementation of RME at Otanaha Hospital was considered very good by the majority of users. The quality of RME information is considered adequate and supports clinical services. Management support is strong and contributes to the success of implementation. Users are considered ready and receive effective training, supported by good infrastructure. The satisfaction level is still low, it needs to improve the content, convenience, and speed of the system. The implementation of RME is considered to have not been successful because the efficiency and quality of service have not been optimal. The RME at Otanaha Hospital is good enough, but it needs to improve infrastructure and improve human resource training so that the use of RME is more optimal. Evaluation and development of sustainable systems are important to support the quality of health services.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of sound science learning for students with disabilities in special schools. The results of the study showed that teachers started learning with greetings, prayers, and perceptions, then conveyed learning objectives and inserted ice breaking to increase students' enthusiasm for learning. In the core activity, teachers use lecture methods and learning resources in the form of powerpoint learning media (PPT) and LKPD to help students understand sound material. Teachers also pay special attention to students with disabilities by adjusting teaching styles, learning tempos, and forms of communication according to students' needs. The characteristics of visually impaired students observed were motor difficulties, limitations in communication and expression, low motivation and confidence, difficulty understanding abstract material, dependence on teacher assistance and tools, and difficulty in following the rhythm of group learning. The learning strategies used are an individualized approach, which is effective in fostering a sense of security, appreciating even the smallest effort, and guiding students to remain active in learning activities. The results of the study show that teachers have tried to adapt learning strategies to the needs of students with disabilities, but there is still a need for improvement in media use, more active interaction, and a more concrete and participatory approach to make learning more effective and in accordance with the needs of students. Thus, this research can contribute to the development of more effective learning strategies for students with disabilities in exceptional schools. The study also shows that an individualized approach can increase the motivation and confidence of students with disabilities in learning, as well as help them understand the material better. Therefore, this research can be a reference for teachers and education practitioners in developing more effective learning strategies and in accordance with the needs of students with disabilities.

Abstract

Aedes sp. mosquitoes are the main vector of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) which is a public health problem. Chemical-based mosquito control efforts tend to cause resistance and environmental impacts, so safer natural alternatives are needed. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the combination of essential oils of sweet lemongrass leaves and musk orange peel in the preparation of used cooking oil-based aromatherapy candles as a repellent of Aedes sp. mosquitoes. This type of pure experimental research (true experiment) using a complete random design (RAL). The population in this study was Aedes sp. mosquitoes and a sample of 300 mosquitoes using one control and three treatments with a concentration of 10% fragrant lemongrass leaves, 10% musk orange peel, and 10% combination of both with 3 repeats for 3 hours of observation. The data was analyzed using the Anova One-Way test with an error rate (?) of 5%. The results of the study showed that aromatherapy wax preparations from essential oils of fragrant lemongrass leaves, musk orange peel and a combination of both with a concentration of 10% can kill mosquitoes 56%, 32% and 92% respectively. There is a significant difference with (p-value = 0.000<0.05). Further development of this aromatherapy wax formulation with variations in concentration is recommended to optimize its effectiveness as a repellent.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how micro-business actors utilize digitalization as a strategy to navigate the dynamics of the modern market, as well as to identify the opportunities and challenges they encounter. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through a case study of Bucket Bunga, a creative florist business that has been operating for seven years and is managed by a young entrepreneur in City X. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the business owner. The results show that digitalization has had a positive impact on market reach, service efficiency, and increased customer interest through social media platforms such as Instagram and WhatsApp. However, several challenges persist, including limited understanding of social media algorithms, fluctuating content visibility, and the rising competition in the online business landscape. The main strategy adopted by the business owner involves improving product quality and customer service, although no external support has been received from communities or educational institutions. This study highlights the importance of digital literacy and institutional support to help micro-businesses adapt effectively to the digital economy ecosystem.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the significant role of parents and Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in fostering worship awareness among the students of Rumah Tahfidz Al Wasathiyyah Tanrutedong. The research questions are: 1) How is the existence of parents and PAI teachers in this process? 2) What forms of cooperation exist between them? and 3) How is the level of worship awareness among the students at Rumah Tahfidz Al Wasathiyyah? The purpose of this study is to describe the existence of parents and PAI teachers in instilling worship awareness in the students of Rumah Tahfidz Al Wasathiyyah Tanrutedong, to identify the forms of cooperation between parents and teachers in this process, and to analyze the level of worship awareness possessed by the students as a result of the interaction and guidance provided by both parties. To achieve these objectives, this research employs a qualitative approach with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, which are then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings of this study indicate that parents play an essential role in instilling worship awareness in their children through prayer, advice, exemplary behavior, guidance, and supervision. Meanwhile, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers demonstrate their role as advisors, role models, companions, supervisors, evaluators, and motivators. Worship awareness among students at Rumah Tahfidz Al Wasathiyyah Tanrutedong is also fostered through a structured and continuous collaboration between parents and PAI teachers, which includes effective communication, enhancement of parents' religious understanding, mutual agreements on rewards and punishments, relational support from parents to teachers, and reinforcement within the family environment. This synergy contributes to the development of students' worship awareness based on three key indicators: (1) Obedience in performing obligatory and recommended (sunnah) acts of worship (1) Independence in maintaining regular worship practices without strict supervision, and (3) The emergence of a culture of mutual reminders among students regarding worship

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are important skills in physics learning. However, learning practices in schools are still dominated by conventional methods that are less able to accommodate differences in learning styles and student readiness levels. Therefore, the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with a differentiated approach is seen as effective in improving students' critical, creative, and analytical thinking skills, especially in sound wave materials. This study uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experiment design. The subject of the study was grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Kabila which consisted of one experimental class and two replication classes. The research instrument is in the form of pretest and posttest essay questions to measure problem-solving skills. Data analysis was carried out through Liliefors normality test, Alpha Cronbach reliability, paired sample t-test, and N-Gain calculation. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the average pretest and posttest scores in all classes. The normality test states that the data is normally distributed, while the reliability test confirms that the instrument is classified as reliable. The hypothesis test proved that H? was rejected, with an average N-Gain of more than 0.7 which meant a very high increase. Thus, the application of the differentiated PBL model has been proven to have a positive effect on problem-solving skills and encourage students to be more active, involved, motivated, and able to solve contextual problems according to learning styles.

Abstract

This research aims to find out and understand how female village heads are in the vortex of kinship politics in Sungai Pinang Village, Rambutan District, Banyuasin Regency in 2024. This study uses a qualitative methodology with interview, observation, and documentation techniques to collect data. This research uses the theory of familiesties (Jalalzai & Rincker 2018) and the theory of Women and Politics (Joni Lovenduski 2025). The results of this study show that kinship relationships have a significant influence on the process of electing female village heads with family support, social capital, and community solidarity that are still strong in traditional structures in the village. Kinship politics is not only a power strategy but also a means for women to gain legitimacy in leadership in villages that are still patriarchal. This research confirms that kinship politics has a positive and negative impact on village democracy, on the one hand facilitating women's access to be involved in village politics, but can also strengthen the practice of political dynasties that close the space for community participation at large. In conclusion, the head of the female village in Sungai Pinang Village is influenced by the practice of kinship politics (familyties) which has been firmly rooted in the local social and political structure. The suggestion that the researcher can give is an effort to improve the quality of village democracy so that women's representation is not only symbolic but also substantive.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of Wordpress-based interactive learning media on student learning outcomes in sound wave material. The population in this study was all students of class XI/4 in the 2024/2025 academic year at SMA Negeri 1 Gorontalo. The data collection techniques was using an instrument in the form of a student learning outcome test sheet, in the form of a multiple-choice test of 30 questions given to students, namely the initial test (pretest) and the final test (posttest).Based on the results of research on the effect of interactive learning media based on wordpress on student learning outcomes on sound wave material, researcher can draw the conclusion that there is an effect of interactive learning media based on wordpress on student learning outcomes on sound wave material. This is shown by the calculation of the paired sample test with a t-count value less than the t-table value or -15.86 < 1.67. Thus, based on the decision-making criteria, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a significant difference in the average learning outcomes between the pretest and posttest data of the experimental class.
